This system has been installed in my house for about 6 months, and I have had so many issues with this company and their product since installation. I could have posted a negative review after the installation for the poor preparation and work they completed, but I thought I'd go soft on them and wait for the system to actually work before posting a review. I'm glad I did because my experience has just gotten worse and I want every to know. First, George is just not an adept person in interacting with people. During the sales process George told me the system and installation would cost $3,000 all-inclusive of parts and labor. Next I asked him what if something went wrong with the system, who would fix it. He told me that there is a $170 or $180 yearly fee which as long as we pay, Big Power Water would maintain the system and ensure everything is working properly. I took all of his words as truth and now I am regretting it! First of all, only 5 hours of installation is included into the initial price, which wasn’t communicated to me. The installation of the unit took 2 days at my house because a) the plumbing in my house is unusual apparently and took them quite a bit of time to figure out where to install the filtration unit, and b) George and his team didn’t do the necessary research to figure out how my house’s plumbing is laid out. If they had, then they would have known how to approach the installation. I hired them because they are the professionals who should know to properly check the houses layout before starting the work. During the whole process, I kept silent because I just wanted them to finish the job. The 2nd day once the job was completed, George had me sign some paperwork which was more than $3,000 but I assumed the extra was tax and signed. I did try to read the contract a little but George tried to rush me by saying, it’s all the normal legal stuff. Two hours after they left, I noticed the water was gushing out in my front yard where they had installed the filter. I immediately called George who took an hour to come back. Apparently they didn’t know the water pressure in my area was higher than normal so the one of the joints in the pipes that were glued together came undone. Again, this is the lack of research and preparedness on their part. I am not the professional. I have never done any plumbing work. I don’t know what information is relevant for them to know to do the job. They didn’t ask me anything. Secondly, few weeks later once I got the payment contract (since I had signed up for financing), I noticed my price had jumped a lot higher than the $3,000 + tax that I had signed with George. I found out that I had never paid taxes to George, and the taxes would be taken out with my installment payments. But then why was I charged more than $3,000 from Big Power Water? I called George, and this is the first time he tells me that the reason was because it took them more than 5 hours to finish the job so they charged me extra for labor. This is when I first started distrusting George because he didn’t mention that AT ALL when I signed the contract, and I checked the contract again and the “extra labor fee” was not mentioned anywhere on the contract. And besides as I mentioned before, George had told me that the full installation and unit cost was included in the $3,000. I fought this, and Big Power Water credited me back the extra labor fee. Second headache cleared. My system worked great for about 3 months. Within a week of the installation, my wife and I could immediately tell the water in our house was soft. We no longer were seeing the scaling in our bathrooms or the washed dishes. The water was tasting better due to the filtration system. So things were good. Then in August, I noticed one of the pipes connected to the filtration unit that flushes out the water from the filter had come off. I tried very hard to put it back in myself, but it wouldn’t go in, so I called George who came and got it fixed while I was at work. I don’t know what all they did, but assumed they just fixed that one issue. But from that point forward, I noticed the water was no longer coming in soft. I started seeing scaling everywhere. I contacted George, who told me there was nothing wrong (without coming to check the unit), and just to put more salt in the salt tank. I did that and waited 2 weeks to see if anything changed. It did not. I called George again, and he told me again that nothing was wrong and to flush the filtration unit. I did that and waited 2-3 weeks, and still nothing worked. I called George AGAIN, and this time he finally came to check the unit (though his attitude was pissy) and he claimed this time that the issue was the filtration system was scheduled to flush every 15 days, and he changed it to 5 days so the issue should go away. I didn’t believe him, and wasn’t happy with his pissy attitude so I thought I’d just wait and see if this changed anything. Finally I waited 1 month and the scaling in my house was just getting worse. I decided to check out the full system myself first before contacting George, and I found the problem right away. The pipe that connects the filtration system to the salt tank had been severed somehow. So this is why my house was not getting soft water for about 3 months. I kept telling George something was wrong, but he didn’t want to listen. He kept disregarding my worries. On top of that, when I just contacted him yesterday about finding out the root cause of the issue which I’ve been telling him for 3 months, he tells me “How did you cut it?” Seriously? Why the **** would I cut or harm any part of the system that I paid so much money for? Then he had the audacity to tell me that I should buy something from Home Depot and fix it myself. I got ****** at him, and he told me that they charge $39 for service fee. Another thing that was never mentioned to me before today. Not one time has he stated this when he came to fix an issue before, nor is it anywhere in the contract. On top of that, what is the point of paying the $170 yearly fee which he claimed originally would cover the fixing of any issues I had with the system. TL;DR My whole experience with Big Water Power through George has been terrible. For 3 months my water system has not worked as it should and what I paid for. George has tried to blame me for something I didn’t do instead of accepting there was an issue as I kept bringing it up to him. I would never recommend this company to anyone else.
