Big Tex Concrete Construction

I had the walkway from the house replaced, plus widened along with the entire driveway and sidewalks in front of the house during the last week of April and first week of May this year (2026). The previous concrete areas had shifted, sunk, along with cracking and tilling due to age, wear and tear plus multiple city water main breaks in the 50 years since the house was originally built. Jason L. at bigtexcc.jason@gmail.com did the estimate, work with his crew on site beginning to end. This included the estimate, a recent survey and permitting for what we were having done. He used all of his own equipment to remove the old concrete, setting up forms based on what we wanted enlarged in some areas and the setting up of the rebar, scheduling the delivery of concrete and getting the new wet concrete throughout where it was needed without damaging areas outside of the desired work spaces. I found Jason thru Angie's list and like others that spoke so highly of his work on the Angie site.

Jason and his crew at Big Tex concrete were a pleasure to work with, they are reliable professionals, and kept us informed as the project progressed. He took care of getting the necessary permits and calling city inspectors when they were needed. All work was done to specifications and in a timely manner. Our new driveway, sidewalk, front porch, and patio has really added to our homes value and curb appeal. We have received many compliments and are very happy with the end result.

It was a smooth experience. Jason and his crew did an excellent job. Always on time and came to work. If he said they will be there at 7:30 a.m., they were there started working. Jason handled getting the permits required by the city and met with inspectors. Quality job and no issues after the work was completed. Would definitely recommend and hire again for any future jobs.

Jason and his team offered a fair price. They executed on time and very professional through our entire process. They were able to secure COH permit in a timely manner. We would hire them again for any concrete projects and certainly suggest their name to friends.

We contracted with Big Tex to replace driveway, sidewalk and front porch, we followed Jason’s recommendation regarding expanding the driveway and it turned out perfect. Despite the obstacles they faced regarding the weather, work was done in a timely manner and we are very happy with the end result.

Came out to look at my driveway and I got the impression they do more business than homeowners but he was very professional and friendly and I got a quote with an Angle’s discount. Price was extremely competitive. It looks great. Our neighbors had concrete poured in their backyard by a different company and the neighbors said their guys were complimenting our driveway work. They put all my landscaping rocks back and fixed the grass. Very impressed. Work done in two days, then just had to sit and let it cure....

The work was done reasonably well and quickly and during the initial work the company was punctual and responsive. The problems have all occurred after the original work. Shortly after the work was completed and paid for I noticed a couple of hairline cracks in the concrete. What was more discouraging was I noticed that where the old sidewalk connected to the patio they had left the old concrete broken with a jagged edge and a big hole between the new and the old. They had carefully covered this area with bags of soil I had laying next to the garage. I called Henry. He came out and promised to have someone come over and repair the jagged edge and told me the cracks would maybe come back together. Also, told me he warranted the driveway for one year. No one ever came to repair the jagged edge even though I called three more times. A few months later the driveway began to show brown swirly lines. At first they were very faint but now much more prominent. Again I called Henry (twice) and asked him to come out to look to see what could be done. No response again. Based on my experience I would not do business with this company again. Once they have the money they don't seem to care at all about what they've left you with.

Big Tex was very professional from the first time we met. Very easy to get in touch with. The work was absolutely beautiful. Before Big Tex complete my driveway and walkway's I never would have thought I would say concrete is beautiful. The finishing touches made the difference.

Henry and team did excellent work. Very competent and prompt and courteous. The work was done in about three days. New driveway was done to code, permit obtained by Henry, re-barred and poured 4 inch deep.

Excellent! Quality is perfect, went above and beyond expectations. Put PVC down for sprinklers before they poured concrete, worked with fence guys so they could set posts, put a temporary fence up for the dogs and left it until fence was finished. There was a water mishap and they were scooping it out with cups so they could finish. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Mr. Luna and his crew were very professional. They were here all week because we had a lot of concrete to replace. They arrived on-time everyday, worked when they were here, were here for city inspectors, and got the job done quickly.  They also worked around our electrician who was installing a new electrical feed from the transformer to our electrical box under the driveway. Mr. Luna did everything necessary to allow for the electrical inspector and that work to get done. Our new concrete is so nice, the work done was very nice. I asked Mr. Luna to redo the surface on our front porch as it was too rough and he obliged with no problem. The owner was on-site a lot and stayed at the end making sure the small things were wrapped up properly. <br />

I am very impressed with this company and their crew. The initial contact took a few times but that's because they are so busy. However, the results were worth the wait! I am very impressed with work they did and our driveway looks amazing! I would recommend them to anyone! <br />

Henry was able to provide us a quote on the spot and started the work within a couple of weeks. His crew arrived on time to start the job and it was completed as agreed. We were very pleased with his work and would hire him again. <br />

These guys worked incredibly hard. We had a very old driveway and sidewalk and it looked terrible. They busted it all out and removed the old concrete and poured a new concrete and sidewalks. Overall the end result is great. I've waited a while to write this review to see how the concrete held up. We have some cracks, but it doesn't surprise me given the heat of the summer and the lack of rain that we had. I'm hoping that the cracks don't become worse, but we'll see. The price for the service was fantastic, as they were about half the estimate that we got from another contractor. They added some nice artistic touches that really set the project off nicely and brought compliments from our neighbors. On the down side, they didn't take credit cards, which we had hoped to use. Henry Luna is pretty good about returning calls, but can be a bit hard to communicate with at times. Overall we are happy with the service and product. <br />
