It was not very satisfactory. They aren't very professional in their communications. I had to call them repeatedly to get them to show up and get the work and the work they did was not very good.

needed some patch work done on my front entry porch stairs. He came over and gave me some suggestions on what could be done and how it would look. Then he returned with his workers who completed the work. It took a couple of trips for it to be completed but it looks amazing! He returned my calls, answered my questions, completed job on time and didn't ask for more than was estimated from the start.
I had a wonderful experience with this company. They were on time, answered all of my questions, and was very upfront with me. Mr. Thompsons was very professional and got the job done faster than expected and really paid attention to detail. I would highly recommend this company. It was quit a relief compared to other companies I have dealt with in the past.

Bill's repairman Jimmy stuck duct tape on all four walls to hold up plastic. I had to spend a $1,000 to have the walls patched and repainted. When I inquired about the damage to the walls, the provider said that there was no other choice. He claimed they had to damage my walls in order to keep the sand from spreading throughout the rest of my house. I don't buy it. Shouldn't he have discussed putting that kind of tape on my walls with me before he did it? I could think of at least three or so ways they could have kept the sand from going throughout my house without damaging my walls. Besides, it should have been my decision to have the walls damaged, not theirs. When I asked for a receipt, the owner told me to send a self addressed envelope and he would send me one. After waiting almost two weeks, I contacted the owner again, and once again he assured me he would send me a receipt. He never did send me a receipt.
------
Updated June 21, 2015: In response to the Feb. 25 comments provided by Bill Thompson, The facts are that my grounds keeper (care taker) never approved to have my walls damaged. In his response, Bill Thompson said that if I came directly to him he would have painted my walls for far less. He?s going to paint my walls and not provide me a receipt after telling me numerous times he would give me one? His workers were aware of the damage. They told him about it. I spoke to his worker Jimmy about it on the phone and he conveyed that felt bad about it. "Honestly?" With respect to being upset, I gave Bill no indication on the phone that I was coming after him legally. I was cordial with him and even complimented him on numerous occasions for the brick repair. I was and now am in need of my receipt.
I was not able to claim this expenditure as a home improvement on my taxes because Bill refuses to give me my receipt. That's not right. Bill, if you would make it right with me and split half my costs to repair and paint my damaged walls (I have the paint receipt) and provide me with my repair receipt, I will revise this feedback. I will be waiting on your reply. James
Response from BILL THOMPSON MASONRY
"First of all, I would like to start by saying that this is a very unfortunate situation and does not reflect the way that we normally do business. I take great pride in my work and as you know, the work that we did on your masonry was top quality. We are very sorry that there was damage done to your property. There are, however, a few key points that I would like to mention in our defense. Due to the order in which the work you needed had to be done, we could not use the painters tape that we normally would have used to do this procedure. We had to create a channel through the house to prevent the large amount of particulate matter from being deposited throughout your home and all over your belongings. As I mentioned we usually use painters tape to do this but because the room was completely finished with only paint to stick to in addition to the fact that the plastic that we had to use to SAFEGAURD YOUR BELONGINGS being so heavy, we had to come up with an alternative solution to keep the plastic in place. We then consulted with YOUR GROUNDS KEEPER on a solution. He then went under HIS OWN FREE WILL to the hardware store to get duct tape. He APPROVED this solution and being representative of yourself, by extension this procedure was approved by YOU. Regardless of who approved what it is never our intention to damage a property and it has never happened before. Unfortunately, because of the layout of this job in particular, I can assure you that this was the only solution. I understand that you may feel as though there were many alternatives but after doing this business for over 20 years I have come to learn that the channel has to be taped up. The dust that comes from doing this work is extremely fine and creating a total seal was the only option. If we had not created this total seal the damage done would have far exceeded that of a thousand dollar paint job. Honestly, if you had come directly to me with this complaint I would have come out and painted your walls for far less than a thousand dollars and it would have been just as good of a job as the masonry work As far as not sending you the receipt; you were so upset because of what happened, I felt as though you were trying to use what I would send you against me in court and I had to protect myself. Again, I personally apologize for any issues that you may have felt were caused by my business. The taping of the walls was a secondary process that was required to do our main job that you were extremely satisfied with."

He was very detailed about what needed to be done but the price was a little higher than 2 other proposals. I would still recommend him. He was very courteous and polite even after I told him that I had chosen another company to do the work.
