Great work. We love our new basement, all of the work was completed as we wanted. The work was better than our original builder. Our new bathroom we had built in the basement turned out better than expected and is currently one of the nicer bathrooms in the house. Tile work tured out well and has not had not had any problems with cracking. No problem with the plumbing and electrical work. The LED lights they put in are bright and work well. We had a couple of nail pops and a small crack from settling within the first year but everything else has stood up well.

Bret and his team were fantastic! They took an otherwise blank and empty space and turned it into the basement of our dreams. Everything was done from Framing, drywall, electrical, plumbing, flooring, installing railing and creating a beautiful bathroom and built-ins. From beginning to end, Bret and his team were a dream to work with!

We interviewed several different contractors for this work (approximately 7-8) since we knew this was going to be a large and expensive project. We felt most comfortable with Bret who took the time to understand our needs/wants and drew up a scope of the plan and a proposed layout of what we were looking for. Upon seeing his estimate, it came in on the lower end of our other contractors and based on his good reviews, we decided to move forward. Based on getting permits, the start of the job went very quickly. We have gotten quite a bit of work done in our home and have to say that Bret's crew were very professional, knowledgeable, and did very high quality work on what was done (I wish I had gone with Bret and his company for other past projects). A big plus was as we move forward with the project, we had several design changes done and Bret and his team were willing to accommodate the scope which was very helpful. While the project was going on, we also had a baby born and all the meanwhile, no interruptions in the work nor much of our time was needed to keep things going. As mentioned, our project was turn-key so his crew did everything including framing, drywall, plumbing, flooring, painting, all finishing touches to the end. What started as a basic job became a highly custom job but Bret and his team were up for the task. We are thrilled with the end result and glad we get to enjoy it with our friends and family for many years to come. In fact, everyone that has come by our home and sees the basement thinks it is really good work. This coming from someone that is very meticulous and particular. Whether we had a very minimal job or a high-end custom job, I would be confident to go with Bret and his team for the job.

We needed to have our powder room renovated. Scope of work included tearing down the powder room to the studs, putting up new drywall, adding ventilation to the room, replacing the fan, vanity, and some fixtures. His crew did excellent work, communicated every detail well, and cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't be happier with my new powder room!

<p><b>BK Contracts – On-Time, Under Budget, Amazing!</b><b></b></p> <p>‪We found<b> BK Contracts</b> (herein BKC) on Angie’s List after searching for a company to finish our basement.  BKC offered an initial consult and basement design (ideas) for $249 which would be discounted from the project costs when we went with their company.</p> <p>The owner, Bret, met with us, listened to our ideas, passed on some of his own and after just a few days we had a detailed proposal.  The design was exactly what we had discussed  and his estimate was very reasonable considering the size and scope of our project (about 3,000 square feet). <br></p> <p>We had met with and talked with a number of other companies but when considering the experience, price and years in business (since 1993) we went with BKC.  Within a few days of our proposal acceptance, his crew began working. </p> <p><b>Project Scope:</b><br></p> <p>-       Au pair / In-Law suite</p> <p>-       Fitness Room</p> <p>-       Recreational Room</p> <p>-       Theater</p> <p>-       Full Kitchen</p> <p>-       Storage Area</p> <p>Amazing attention to detail and incredibly responsive. They far exceeded all of our expectations and would immediately adjust to any additional renovation needs, additions or changes. Luis, Lorenzo and Jorge are all trustworthy, courteous and a hardworking group of men.<br></p> <p>The installation of the drywall went smoothly, without issue.  They inspected each piece to make sure each was without flaws.  The electrical work went smoothly as well, adjusting to our numerous (additional) requests for dimmers and pendant lighting. The painting was again, perfectly done.<br></p> <p>Bret was reachable all day via email, text or phone and his response was almost immediate. He met me at Home Depot to help select appliances and lighting for the kitchen area and assisted with the cabinet selection as well as the backsplash and finishing touches. <br></p> <p>We will definitely use this company again and would highly recommend them to friends and family without hesitation.<b> BK Contracts</b> is now my go-to company for any household needs or projects!</p>

After talking to and receiving quotes from 6 contractors we selected BK Contractors (Bret) for our remodel. The project included creating a new home office that needed to be insulated and sound proofed, a home theater, a kid’s playroom, half bath, and craft / arts center. Additionally, the hot water heater needed to be relocated with new plumbing lines run. Bret and his team were very professional and great to work with!!! Starting with the design and contracting process, Bret was easy to work with. He was more than happy to spend as much time as needed to help design the project. Like most people, we had a limited budge. Bret was able to offer options that allowed us to stay within our budge while maximizing our design. As for the contract, Bret’s scope of work and contract was thorough and left no doubt we select the right contractor. Within days of signing the contract Bret had the building permit in order and his guys were hard at work. The framing, electrical and plumbing rough-in were competed within a few weeks. All of his employees are very professional, polite, respect your home as if is it their home. At the end of each day, the work site was swept clean and the trash taken out. Throughout the entire project Bret was ALWAYS available and just a phone call away. I would absolutely recommend BK Contractors and will certainly use him again.

We didn't move forward with them doing the work but we did get the estimate and that's what we primarily wanted. It was too expensive for us. He was able to answer the questions but some of them were kind of vague. He was extremely overweight and had a hard time even standing, he had to sit down. It was at the end of the day, he was tired and it was hot. It wasn't really the best impression. It was all average. It was within the month and at a mutual time frame.

Everything went well. Bret is a very nice and really seems to know what he is doing. 

It went really well although somewhat longer than anticipated. Brett, and his team are very attentive to detail and are completely professional with their work. When I went out of town for about three weeks in February, I left a key with Brett so he and his team could continue with the work. They always locked the house when leaving for the day.. I was never disappointed. The house was always left clean which my wife really appreciated. They even did some extras like installing my new TV and sound system at no extra cost. The project was completed to my complete satisfaction and in budget. <br /> <br />

My second time using BK Contracting and I couldn't be happier. Just bought a single family home in Leesburg as an investment property. Bret's team remodeled the kitchen (installed all new appliances, fixed some plumbing and replaced the linoleum floor with tile). The kitchen looks absolutely amazing with the stainless steel appliances and the high quality floor.  <br /> <br /> He also totally overhauled two bathrooms including the entire floor with tiles, replaced all the vanities, toilets, mirrors and lights. Basically, two whole new bathrooms.  <br /> <br /> The basement had some shoddy work to be repaired. There were entire dry walls missing and all sorts of weird electrical cabling. Bret's team fixed all of it and honestly, it looks about as different as it gets. <br /> <br /> All the work was completed in less than 3 weeks and I was able to place the home on time. Consequently, the home was leased out in less than 12 days to a new tenant and I could not be happier. <br /> <br /> Best of all, I had to text Bret at odd hours on a Sunday with a broken thermostat / heater issue, and he promptly responded with valuable advice on what the problem was and how to mitigate it. Not sure who else would have given me free advice on a Sunday. <br /> <br /> Overall, a huge fan of BK contracting. I had a flooding in my personal home earlier in 2015 and BK Contracts totally rebuilt my basement (insurance claim) and it looks so much better than before. <br /> <br /> Bret's a real gentleman and a man of his word. He has always stayed very close or below his budget estimates and I know I will be using him for future renovations of my investment properties. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

I found Bret on Angie's List and he was very prompt in returning my calls. I was dealing with an estimate from State Farm and Bret was able to work within the reimbursement amounts to perform all the repairs. <br /> His team replaced dry walls, floorboards, ceiling and then painted everything to match the undamaged walls. The floor was a total loss from flooding so based on Bret's advice we went with CoreTec - a new alternative to manufactured wood installations on concrete basement floors.  <br /> Overall, I could not be happier with the work performed. Everything looks like new and his crew was extremely professional in maintaining their time and a clean work location. Where necessary, his crew worked longer hours rather than taking short cuts and I greatly appreciate this attention to detail. <br /> I will be using Bret again for future renovations for my investment properties also. <br />

We were very impressed with the entire process. Bret, the owner, was very easy to work with, his price was more than fair, and we especially appreciated his excellent communication. We were never left hanging or wondering what to expect. The crew showed up on time and got to work immediately. They were fast, very efficient, and best of all, NEAT. All the old shingles and plywood went into a dumpster, not all over our yard. When the job was finished, they meticulously went throughout our yard on all sides with magnet-sweepers to pick up all the nails from the old roof. This was very important to us since we have grandkids and pets who play in the yard. I was dreading the process, but Bret put me at ease right away, and the roof looks fantastic! There were no surprises and we couldn't be more pleased. Whew! We will definitely use BK Contracts for other projects, and I highly recommend them to others. <br />

From the day one I felt very confident in everything he explained about the plan and design of the project. both me and my wife liked the quality and the professionalism from all workers, he has got tons of knowledge and very good experienced employees, very professional and never rushed a job, which turns into a beautiful basement. our kids love the basement , they have got plenty of room to run around and I have got a calm and peaceful home office and a media room.  so our dream came true after getting the basement completed for a reasonable price comparing the market price.</p> <p>The Electrical works are up to the county code standards, Bret is highly skilled in plumping jobs too, the work includes replacing the shower pan , shower sprout , newer toilet  , a full bathroom in the basement , removed the old tiles and installed new Tiles in the master bathroom. He also has installed beautiful brand new Berber Carpets in the basement. we are very pleased with his expertise  in bathrooms and basements remodeling. <p>Our experience with Brett on both projects was outstanding.  With respect to finishing our addition, he went out of his way to consult us step by step and identify potential problems and options.  He kept us informed as to what work was to be performed and when and gave us straightforward honest answers to our questions.  He went beyond the work outlined by the prime contractor to address such details as insulation for our new plumbing pipes (!!!!!) and exterior skirting to give the room a finished look from the outside.  He even mulched around the perimeter of the addition!  </p> <p>For the kitchen job, Bret provided a detailed estimate that incorporated price options at different levels.  This was immensely helpful in allowing us to keep the work within budget.  Again all work was done carefully and the kitchen was left clean and ready to use.  </p> <p>We would definitely use Bret again and highly recommend him.  He brings multiple competencies to the job (e.g., plumbing, tile installation, carpentry, etc.) and is easy to deal with and refreshingly honest.<br /> <br /> </p> <br />

My husband and I have hired Bret on three separate occasions to do work on our house, and each time Bret has met our expectations. Based upon his attention to detail and the relationship we have built with him, we would undoubtedly hire Bret for future work. <br /> We most recently hired Bret to do an addition on our home, and we had a specific time frame in which the work needed to be done. I was pregnant with our first child and due at the beginning of October, and we decided to build an addition on to our home that would include the baby's nursery. By the time we decided on the size of the addition and got through the permitting paperwork with the county, it was the end of July. Bret took on the job and made a commitment to have the nursery ready for the baby's arrival. Although he essentially only had two months to complete the entire addition, through hard work and perseverance Bret met the goal and we were able to bring our baby home to a brand new nursery. We are extremely satisfied with the nursery and the addition as a whole, and we are so grateful that Bret did not shy away from the challenge of completing such a large project in a short period of time. <br /> As a contractor, Bret takes pride in his work and pays attention to detail. Everything went very well. Contractor was very diligent and helpful in guiding us in all aspects of work. He led <br /> and supervised a group of very good and competent workers who took pride in their work. All materials provided by <br /> the contractor were of excellent quality. The job included wood framing, complete electrical wiring and recess lighting. <br /> insulation, building of a wine rack, framing and installing a basement powder room including toiled and sink. Also <br /> building a wet bar adjacent to the wine rack. He also provided a separate storage room complete with built in shelving, <br /> and also enclosed the sump pump so it was out of sight.

<p>My husband and I are retired. We purchased a ranch style home that needed an expansion. We wanted to live on a single floor but we needed more space than what we have. We loved the house but it definitely needed some updating and accommodations for our specific needs. We called several contractors for bids on our master bathroom for remodel and a 16 foot by 24 foot addition attached to the dinning area of our house. After much consideration and research we choose BK Contracts. We were so pleased with Bret's creative ideas and extensive knowledge. He recommended large casement windows for the addition that let in a lot of fresh air and sunshine, but were also very energy efficient. His overall plan was well designed and planned out for a future patio or deck that we would like to do as a future home improvement.<br />     Bret was clearly experienced and so helpful with our decision making. He removed our old fiberglass tub and shower stall and replaced it with a beautiful tile shower with a glass door and drop down bench so I could sit easily and safely. We had safety grab bars added with his recommendation to assist with getting in and out. <br />     All of this work took about five weeks. Bret and his workers were respectful and trustworthy with our home and its contents. Our furniture and personal item had to be moved around constantly due to lack of space and I could not have bee happier with our belongings were handled! We are very satisfied with the work and the experience that Bret has done her and look forward to the beginning of summer when we will begin our kitchen remodel and our deck.
