Be careful if you are dealing with bluediamondremodelingservices@gmail.com +1 (214) 870-5695, Jaime Sanchez - Max's dad or MaryRangel. Jaime used the company credentials of his son max and abandoned the job in the middle not returning our calls or text messages. They did not finish job as contracted on time or quality.i am still dealing it’s the night mare of the uncompleted work and the problems he has created. I would not recommend doing business with them.

Blue Diamond helped us with some interior work (new kitchen back splash, pendant lights and ceiling fans), convert our garage into a living room, office and mudroom and build a new utility room and carport. There were hiccups throughout, but ownership/management was responsive to feedback and resolved issues to ensure the finished project was in line with the contract and our standards. We are very happy with the end result. Pros: professional, timely communication, knowledgeable management, friendly staff/subcontractors, came in on budget. Cons: project took 3x longer than quoted, lackluster project management.

We started the process by meeting with Maxwell Rucker. He came to our home several times to discuss our preferences and plans. When we all agreed to the plans, Maxwell generated a contract online and itemized each of the major tasks along with projected dates of completion. The project was paid for in five payments which coincided with the completion of each task. Charlie Ciampoli was the job foreman. He scheduled each of the subcontractors and did a good part of the work himself including plumbing (he was an ex-plumber), framing, painting, and detailing. I must say, I was impressed with his skills. They were courteous, attentive, responsive and, most importantly, completed each of the various tasks (demolition, framing, plumbing, drywall, tiling, painting, detailing, cleanup, etc.) to our satisfaction. Overall, we are pleased with the results and feel like they charged us a fair price.

We selected Blue Diamond Remodeling (BDR) from three competitive bids. BDR were excellent at doing the scope of work that we needed done. We had prepared a 13 page detailed scope of work document that listed everything that we wanted done as part of the Bid Package. BDR were responsible for demolition of the existing kitchen, internal walls, old electrical and old plumbing. They installed 4 new beams where we opened up wall to make a more modern open architecture house inside. Their Structural/framing subcontractor was exceedingly great and experienced. Once the walls were opened up BDR installed a new sub-electrical power panel to power all of the appliances per City of Austin Codes. We moved the location of the sink some 10 feet so BDR's plumbing sub had to open up the slab and route the hot & cold water and drain lines under the slab to the new location. Their electrician also installed new LED ceiling lights in the expanded kitchen. BDR supplied and installed all new floor tiles, backsplash and also refinished our existing hardwood flooring. They also insulated the open exterior walls and blew in new attic insulation ( this 1965 house barely had any). Overall, BDR gave us an excellent project manager who was here on site nearly every day. I strongly and whole-heartedly recommend BDR, we had an excellent experience. We got our own cabinets and countertops ourselves, and our supplier caused multiple delays, not in BDR's scope of responsibility, but BDR still got their scope done regardless of my scope.

Most excellent! Blue Diamond's ability to work with us with all our idiosyncrasies and inexperience was very welcomed. Their transparency with costs, scheduling, sub-contractors, city inspections, and permits, gave us a huge amount of confidence. Their ability to incorporate our changes was relatively seamless. Also, their focus on communicating via email, text, or phone calls, kept us current on the issues that occurred during our remodel. All in all, they were excellent and are working on other projects with our family.

From initial meeting to final punch list, our interactions with Blue Diamond Remodeling were outstanding. Communication was excellent-we always knew what was going to be happening that day, what trades would be showing up, and I felt comfortable knowing that our project manager Maxwell was available to contact at any time when he wasn't onsite. Any variances to the project plan were discussed in advance. Questions and concerns were addressed quickly. This was really the easiest big remodeling project we've been involved with. We felt that the initial project budget was well thought out and realistic, and we finished right on budget-with a small adjustment made for some additional work I requested. Blue Diamond has negotiated agreements with many of the subcontractors needed for our project-and as a result we realized savings - and their direct communication with manager Maxwell meant that we didn't have to coordinate as many details as we have with past remodels. Finally, a word about the tradespeople Blue Diamond uses-you won't find a more reliable, considerate or skilled group in Austin. We were just blown away again and again with their work.

It can be hard to find a good contractor. And by 'good' I mean a contractor who's honest, communicates clearly and in a friendly way, offers good advice based on experience rather than always trying to up-sell the job, works quickly, works cleanly, and, importantly, doesn't over-commit (then under-deliver). I found exactly that with Blue Diamond Remodeling. Absolutely everything was a positive. I felt completely in control of the project! They listened to me and understood everything I said, consistently arrived when they said they would and left me with an amazing experience and a beautiful kitchen.

This powder room /laundry area and Kitchen remodel is the second renovation project where I used Blue Diamond. The project began on schedule, once the city permits were issued. The project included moving the powder room and a laundry area out of the kitchen to the other side of the house. Then opening up the kitchen into the existing family room by removing 16ft of wall. I provided the final design for both areas of the renovation, and I am pleasantly pleased with the final outcome. Blue Diamond's cabinet made me aware that given my initial design, I would need to lengthen one wall to accommodate the placement of my refrigerator. He was able to work with me to make a modification to the initial design which allowed me to keep a maximum opening from the kitchen to the family room. All the oven and microwave cabinet were made to my specifications, to neither it too high or too low. The cabinets are beautiful and well beyond my exceptions. The countertop fabricator created a waterfall edge to on the island matching the major veining from two different slabs of stone. While no construction project is perfect, Blue Diamond worked with me to resolve issues to my satisfaction. I was disappointed to discover there was a need to replace all existing smoke detectors and install an additional 5 in order to have my home comply with current building codes. A miscommunication on the beam specifications resulted in additional costs, mostly due to switching materials for wood LVLs to a steel I-beam.

We hired Richard for a long overdue kitchen renovation and an approximately 1,000 SF addition to our 1917 bungalow. We solicited bids from Blue Diamond and from one other contractor, and chose Blue Diamond even though their bid was a bit higher. Richard was very up front about Blue Diamond not being the cheapest before their bid was submitted. We chose Richard because of his architectural background, his construction sensibilities, his laid-back but professional demeanor, his listening skills and his attention to detail. We were not disappointed. The project started on time, and even though he recommends that homeowners move out for projects such as this, we opted to “live through it” in order to put that money into the project. They were very cooperative about waiting until the last possible minute to demo the kitchen, and moved very quickly to get us up and running with a brand-new, gorgeous one. We had another architect design both the kitchen and the addition, but he was unable to deliver on the “build” portion of design-build. While the drawings were substantially complete, Richard and crew did have to resolve the lack of ductwork drawings and some other significant details. They took it completely in stride, including a major issue of the slab specifications being significantly incorrect. The construction supervisor, Rex, was on top of everything and his communication was great. He was very no-nonsense and his experience helped us make decisions on the few occasions when we were flummoxed by discrepancies between the drawings and reality. Probably the most significant contribution Blue Diamond made to the success of the project was Giuseppe, the cabinetmaker. He saved us from having no storage space in the master bath, but more importantly, in about a half an hour, reconfigured the kitchen design to something much more practical and attractive. His workmanship is impeccable. No construction project ever goes perfectly, and ours was no exception. It’s the way the contractor handles issues that’s important. Some of the issues were the original architect’s fault, some were our fault (we made a few last minute changes that affected the schedule), the kitchen sink we ordered arrived broken twice, which also affected the schedule, and subs, even great subs, occasionally make mistakes. Blue Diamond never put us in the middle of finger-pointing, the subs were all extremely professional, and anything thing that might have gone wrong was addressed immediately. Richard’s bid was accurate, and while there were a few change orders, they were either completely unavoidable (the slab issue HAD to be corrected) or due to our aesthetic preferences changing between bid and build. (Examples include having all of the drywall skim coated, which was not part of the bid, and overdoing it a little on the price of the kitchen backsplash tile and the shower floor.) Speaking of aesthetics, Richard works with Gloria, a talented interior designer who gave us what we asked for, created a beautiful master bath that we could never have put together ourselves, spec’d a kick-butt kitchen sink, and the kitchen tile backsplash referenced above is to die for. Since Richard relies on the homeowner to purchase and provide fixtures, Gloria gave us all of the details we needed to have everything on hand when it was needed, and she even scrambled to provide different finish options after we changed our minds about the kitchen colors the night before painting was to start. If this caused major problems behind the scenes, we never knew about it. We would love to provide pictures of the finished product, but we’re still in a bit of disarray because we re-hired Blue Diamond to renovate the original bathroom and wardrobe area and re-drywall and paint the living room and our son’s room. I’ll update this review with pictures from both products once they properly reflect Blue Diamond’s work.

It went great. Court is our Project manager. He is very nice and keeps on top of things needing to be done. He checked regularly on progress of the sub contractors. He listened to our concerns and addressed them immediately. All the sub contractors were very professional, nice and very skilled in their areas. The granite selection Max has was not very big, but what he had was unique and some very beautiful slabs. I would highly recommend Blue Diamond Remodeling and all their sub contractors to everyone.

All subs were very talented and easy to work with. We were given a 7 week time frame and we pretty much kept to that. The finished room was wonderful. I am a very hands on home owner and this seemed to work well with this company, although a friend of mine who is not as hands on used them and was very pleased also. The company only handles the construction and remodel, they have the client do all the purchasing of fixtures et al independent of them. They do however recommend a designer that for a fee able to help or take over the entire design project. So as client you need to be pretty independent. Being hands on I needed to have definitive answers as to what and when things were happening, so that I could stay on top of everything. If I didn't receive a solid answer, I would ask again and then did get one. Every time I requested information I was quickly able to get it. The team was very responsive. I have a feeling that things could have dragged on at the end without a joint push. This is a solid company that use talented sub's/craftsman that work long hours and take great pride in the work they do. There were a few learning curves along the way, but they were addressed quickly with good outcomes. Having been thru several large renovations I can say that this was a solid, honest hard word working company to deal with and I am pleased to recommend them and would stand as a reference.

We were very pleased with Blue Diamond's work. Richard Rucker is personable and professional and clearly explained what the work would involve. He responded promptly and the work started on the date agreed upon and was completed earlier than scheduled. The price for the remodel seemed a little high, but we don't know how the cost compares as we didn't get other bids. The workers knew what they were doing and took pride in their work, often asking us to come and inspect. Some workers were more timely in arriving than others. Rex Burrow was an excellent supervisor; he scheduled work in a timely way, monitored for quality, and was always available to answer our questions and follow up on them when necessary..

We are extremely satisfied with our remodeled kitchen that has beautiful cabinets built by Giuseppe and granite countertops, tile backsplash and floor installed by Sergio. Richard, Max, Gloria, Court and everyone involved in the project are real pros. Blue Diamond's high ratings on Angie's List prompted us to select them as one of the bidders for our long-overdue kitchen update. Although the company's bid was higher, we decided that it was worth the additional money to work with a general contractor that offers a good value and has a team of people who care.

Delivered on time and we got exactly what we designed and wanted. Blue Diamond worked with us and integrated beautiful project enhancements. There were normal construction hiccups (not their fault) and they were handled very well. The cabinetry and tile work are exceptional. Rex was a good supervisor and worked with us to get what was best for the customer.

"The designer and clients worked really well together and created a beautifully designed kitchen and master bathroom. This project was a fun project for our entire team because there were so many different remodeling aspects throughout most of the home. We remodeled the entire kitchen, master bathroom and a large portion of the front house/formal dining room creating some extra closet space for the bathroom. We completely changed the layout of the house in these areas and it turned out beautiful."

We were thrilled with the Blue Diamond experience from start to finish. We got 3 bids for this project, and while Blue Diamond wasn't the cheapest, they were the bid that inspired the most confidence from the day it was quoted. Richard Rucker pointed out several considerations that none of the other companies we had bids mentioned and that we hadn't thought of, he spent longer walking us through options and the process, and it was immediately obvious he had more experience than the other bidders (all of which were well-reviewed on Angie's List). We were able to go into the project with confidence in the design. We were provided with detailed drawings, a design plan, and a weekly schedule up front. The schedule was spot-on. Everyone at Blue Diamond was incredibly flexible with us making design changes, in some cases on the day the installation was happening, with subcontractors there waiting for us to decide. No one ever expressed impatience at this, and everyone was cheerful and helpful in making sure the project became everything we wanted it to be. The communication between Richard and Rex and all of the subcontractors was continuous and positive. One of our sons has asthma and that was a concern with some of the demo phase and associated dust, etc. Every subcontractor expressed to us independently that they knew about the asthma and would take relevant precautions. It was clear that the subcontractors all knew one another from many previous projects and had a great working relationship, and it was pleasant to have them around the house. The outcome of the project exceeded our wildest expectations. It's been a couple weeks since we moved back into our new master suite, and we keep wondering if it's a hotel we have to move back out of soon, it doesn't seem possible it's the same bathroom. We've already signed the contract for them to re-do the guest bathroom as well, and can't wait to work with them again.

We originally called Blue Diamond to bid based on the good reviews they had received. They did not disappoint. From the detailed quote, complete with drawings, to the finishing touches at the close of the project, the crew was professional and the results outstanding. This was the largest remodel we had ever taken on, and Richard Rucker talked us through the project milestones in advance, anticipating questions we didn't even know to ask. The drawings provided helped immensely. The project manager, Rex Burrow, kept us appraised of the schedule as the work progressed. Everyone involved was a pro. We are especially impressed with the tilework in the walk in shower, and the cabinetry, It was overall a very positive experience. We are extremely pleased with the results.

Every phase of our project by Blue Diamond was handled in an absolutely professional and conscientious manner, with great attention to detail and craftsmanship. This includes the estimate and bid process, contracting, project pre-planning, completion and wrap-up. Communication in every phase was also excellent. Maxwell supervised our crew, and he did an excellent job of managing everything and communicating with us. He was always very responsive to our questions and input. All of the work was performed at an outstanding level of craftsmanship. All work was also performed on time and on budget. This was the first time we had used Blue Diamond and we were very, very impressed. The finished product exceeded our expectations. Now, we will always go to Blue Diamond first for this type of work, and we are planning to hire them again to remodel other rooms in our house.
