Brian said he would return in 2 weeks to a month to reseal the shower curb and retile it. He has not returned to finish the job. He keeps giving me excuses how he needs to pay the bills and how he is behind on his mortgage. Okay, i was sympathetic but i'm only gonna wait so long. We are down to one bathroom and my wife is very ****** off. I messaged him on Thursday and he never responded back to me. I'm now gonna hire another contractor to finish the work that should have been corrected months ago. Now i have to worry that my subfloor has been compromised by the work. Not the type of service you want when you pay over 30k for a new bathroom.

Brian and his team did a very thorough job replacing the roof. The team stripped off the old roof quickly and kept the surrounding area clean. Brian paid particular attention to getting the job done in a way that would prevent damage from ice dams. The lead flashing he did around the chimney looks like it was done by a real artisan. New gutters, downspouts, and leaf-guards were installed with high quality materials an attention to detail.
Response from B & M Builders LLC
"We also designed and built a new soffit along the intire rear of the log cabin home in order to mount the new gutter system. To match the decor on the homes exterior we utilized rough sawn lumber we harvested from local trees and was air dried previous to the fabrication. We measured and designed a frame for the new soffit which would coincide with the irregularities of the logs on the outside wall and the existing over hang of the roof. We then matched a exterior stain to the color of the logs and pre finished all of the new soffit material prior to the installion. We also needed to replace compromised roof deck and structure on the front of the home. We removed aproxomitly 150 square feet of exspired plywood as well as framing structure, insulation, and finished tong & groove soffit prior to installing the ice & water membrane and new shingles. We also re nailed the entire roof deck returning it to new condition."

Brian did a great job on the roof, cleaned all the waste created and also helped remove a non-functioning chimney. The job was completed in the timeframe promised.
Response from B & M Builders LLC
"We dismantled a 20' chimney to the ground then provided our dump style trailer for the customer to load all chimney materials in then disposed of it. Also worked with the customer offering the trailer to customer for the removal of 8 overgrown evergreen bushes along the front of the home which they loaded for me to dispose of all in preparation and prior to the roof replacement. During the roof replacement after stripping all existing roof material we needed to replace comprised 1 x 6 tong & grove deck material prior to installing the ice and water protective membrane."

We hired Brian last year to refinish our master bathroom when we called him to have our roof and gutters done. A friend of mine had referred me to his services because of the work he had done on his roof and his brother and father’s roof (refer to my other review for his roofing work). The work he did on our bathroom really turned out great! See Photos! He asked us how long we were planning on living in our home and recommended going more high end since we plan on living in our home well hopefully forever. Rather than going with lower quality big box products, we went with higher end faucets, toilets, granite, tile...that come at a higher pricetag but should last a long time. We ended up going over-budget on our allowances but we figured we would only be redoing it once. Our granite really broke the budget but it's definitely the centerpiece of the bathroom and is really beautiful. We added a fan-tech ventilation system to our bathrooms which is a really nice unit. We have 3 vents in our main master bathroom and 1 vent in the spare bathroom. Brian recommended it and it works great! No steam build-up in either bathroom and it’s super quiet because the motor is mounted in the attic. It wasn’t cheap but I think it will help keep our bathroom clear of mildew or mold. Oh and he didn’t just vent everything into the attic. He spent extra time up on the latter cutting out an exhaust port on the side of the house. Brian really does nice work and I felt like he doesn’t take any shortcuts or skimp on materials. He wants things done correctly and in a way that his work is gonna last. I felt like any overages were reasonable, necessary, and not excessive. When he pulled the old shower out, there was considerable water damage to the subfloor that he recommended fixing. We even had him accomplish a few side jobs while he was working here. We had a wooden loft in my garage that I kept hitting my head on and he helped me raise it up. Our central vac system clogged up and he helped me clear it with my shop vac. He also mounted my tv antenna in the attic and snaked a cable wire into the basement. I had bought some tv cable and he told me to return bc he had a whole roll of it from some previous work. We would have had him redo our kitchen and laundry room but we were short of money to do everything that we wanted. One complaint was that he misquoted us for the shower door that turned out to be double the price of the quote. He could have just recommended putting a cheaper shower door on but I think he didn’t want to cheapen the job with a crappy door. I felt like it was just an honest mistake while looking for prices and probably more of a result of a misleading sale advertisement at one of the big box stores. He ended up working really hard putting in the shower door to make up for the error rather than making us pay the glass company $1000+ they wanted to install it. Everything Brian does seems to be well thought out. He doesn’t rush the project at all and works with you to really make everything custom. He spent considerable time working out the new angles on the tub/toilet area which really turned out nice! We really love the bevel that he put into the wall and the angle of the tub box. The molding on the shower piers really turned out nice. He spent some serious time on the position of the lights and mirrors over the cabinets to get them just right and even had to redo it once because my wife wasn't happy with how the spacing looked. He made sure the height of our shower was just right because I’m pretty tall and need to have my faucet up high. He’s also a big fan of lighting which my wife and I share his enthusiasm for! Our bathroom went from a very dark looking old bathroom to almost like a high end operating room! My wife loves the lighting for doing her makeup. Brian could have a second career as a painter because he does a really nice job. I wish i had spent time helping him paint to learn some of his tricks because he’s a really good painter.

It has been six months since we had our roof done and have had no problems so far. We are really happy with the appearance of our new roof! The before and after of the house is a huge difference! There were no surprise prices or add-on's at the end of the transaction. He even fixed our rusting chimney cap and decided not to charge us for it.

We were very pleased with the design, attention to detail and finished product. The entrance to deck is the slider off of our kitchen. The work dramatically improved our outdoor space while simultaneous expanding our kitchen/entertaining space such that guests can enjoy indoor or outdoor dining or a combination of both. Great job, strongly recommend!

I have worked with Brian for many years. In the past, he has removed the soffit from the front of my house in preparation for painting it. He also installed a new front door. Inside, he replaced carpeting in the upstairs bedroomsand installed a fan in the family room - with no electrical box in the ceiling prior to installation.
I just had him do a kitchen and bathroom remodel. In the kitchen, he took out all the cabinets, countertops, appliances and
fluorescent light fixture. Brian installed recessed lighting in it's place, repaired and painted the ceiling. This meant adding new circuits for these lights as well as the new under cabinet lighting. New cabinets with crown molding, sink and faucet, granite countertops, garbage disposal, and appliances were brought into my small working kitchen with extreme effiency. In the middle of the job, my hot water heater went. Within 36 hours he had a new one delivered and running.
The 2 bathrooms required taking vanities, tiolets and the shower/tub out. Brian installed new vanities, granite countertops, sinks and faucets, toilets and a tub with a shower surround. This invovled new plumbing and carpentry as nothing was plumb! He also replaced the light fixture with a light /exhaust fan combo.
One thing leads to another, so I decided to Have him remove an old fan from the stairwelland put recessed lights in it's place. I wanted a fan in my bedroom, again with no electricy source in the ceiling so he did all the electrical work to make that happen.
His work is impeccable. I am so impressed with his knowledge and skill set. My basement is the next thing I want to do. I'll be calling Brian again when I'm ready for that job!
I was so happy with Brian and B&M Builders work and have
used him as my contractor ever since. The projects included replacing the box
framing and sill plates and some floor joists around
three sides of my house. This involved jacking my house up off the foundation, detaching
and suspending the 16?X16? enclosed porch and replacing the rotten wood. This was quite a job. Brian and his crew
worked tirelessly under difficult conditions and went above and beyond. I
later had them replace my entire roof and on the back porch. Brian replaced a failing flat roof and installed
a rubber roof and tied it all together. I also had them remove and replace the
siding, exterior trim, gutters and gutter guard and a new window on the 2nd
floor dormer. Brian also removed and rebuilt a large deck on one side of my
house as well. I strongly recommend Brian and his crew in any and all of these
repairs. They are honest and fair and
easy to work with. I trusted him and his
crew with full access to my house and family.
You will not be disappointed.

At the beginning of the project, Brian replaced and reinforced the support beams for the roof and the upper porch. The new framing of the lower porch enclosure provided excellent support accommodating the installation of 8 vinyl windows with custom Azek trim. Brian?s attention to detail was impressive and everything matched perfectly. During the first rainstorm
after the enclosure of the porch, we realized the porch roof leaked because earlier repairs done by another contractor five years prior. Brian removed the related siding, along with two layers of shingles on the entire first floor roof, then reinstalled ice and
water protection, new shingles and step flashing to fix the leak quickly so as not to cause further damage by installing missing flashing and redirected the drainage system to clear rain water more efficiently. The front concrete steps were torn out and a new form was built and new concrete was poured to create the new stairs to match the stone wall. We elected not to have gray steps, so B&M Builders mixed a colored stucco to color the steps. The old stone wall was removed and a new one was built to match the original design of the house. The work on the stone wall was beyond our expectations. The stone wall was so impressive that we still receive comments from our neighbors on the quality of the work done. Since we loved the work so much, we had Brian and his crew perform the landscaping so as to accentuate the stone work that was done. Brian was professional and extremely helpful in accepting the extra work. Brian also replaced a section of our back entrance sidewalk to stop water from entering our basement during rainstorms. We are very satisfied with the work done by B&M Builders. When problems were discovered that would impact the enclosed porch or stone wall, Brian addressed these issues and kept us under our stated budget. After the porch enclosure was finished, including recessed ceiling lights and all trim, Brian installed an Italian ceramic tile floor that looks amazing. I would strongly recommend B&M Builders and Brian Holder as home improvement contractors.

They started when they said they would. They were very diligent in doing their work. They were very careful with my property and made sure nothing was damaged as far as plants and shrubs. They completed the job when they said they would despite some rainy weather in between. We were very pleased with the work they did and the product they delivered.

Brian showed up and performed work in a timely manor, always punctial. Although there were a few hurdles, the task was not prolongs extensively. He was informative at every step, and very personable. At the conclusion of everything, my property was spotless. No damage to my rear deck or bushes. No debris what so ever was left behind, truly was like they were never there. I was totally trilled about the care and precision of everything performed. Brian and his crew achieved a beautiful roof. I would, and do recommend B & M Builders to anyone that is in need of roof repair.

I am still amazed when I walk out on the new deck it beautiful and solid as a rock! After a 4 year disaster with a previous deck experience, I finally decided to try again and had numerous estimates in the last year. When Brian came out looked at the existing deck and told me what needed to be done and how he would do it. I knew he was knowledgeable and he knew what he was doing.
During the project he ran in to some unforeseen and unusually construction idiocracies with the house during the project he adapted and adjusted without a hitch. The new deck is wonderful and you could drive a truck on it. My husband is over 250lbs and it doesn't move when he walks or plops down in a chair.
Brian was here when he said he would be. He kept us informed about what was going on, and cleaned up before he left. The details that went into the deck were beyond what I had expected which is always a delight. Edges were routed, corners smoothed. A hand rail was installed on the stairs (which have nice wide treads). Cement for the footings was mixed onsite rather than the cement being poured in the hole and adding water from a hose.
I was/am thrilled with the whole project and will use B&M for future projects. Oh, did I tell you I was happy with the deck?
