Everything was cared for - nothing damaged - no furniture - not even a scratch. I am pretty OCD, so please understand that I am hard to please. They respected both homes as they moved through them. They were professional and kind. They were flexible and went & beyond to help us get the move done in a timely manner. We needed more help than we thought and they were there for us They worked non-stop. We made sure they stopped for lunch, but even that was quick. They are hard workers and the price is very reasonable. Thank you guys!! <br />

We contacted Mike at Affordable Reliable Movers because of the amazing reviews they received from two of my neighbors they had moved in the past. I even opened my own account to leave them a well deserved review. I have relocated quite a bit over the years and have used many moving companies before but these guys were HANDS DOWN THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED!! They were very easy to communicate with before the job and were able to handle my last minute moving request. On the day of the move, the men showed up on time(a few minutes early) and went right to work. They worked their butts off and did not stop to take a break the whole time. I was impressed to say the least. They loaded the truck much quicker than I ever expected and they did not scratch a single piece of furniture. They were very detailed oriented and knew exactly how to unload the truck and fit everything into my storage unit. These guys were young, polite, friendly and overall just amazing movers. I will be calling them again very soon to help me move into my new home. <br />

I hired 3 guys to move all of my stuff. They arrived on time, worked hard for 8 hours, were very professional and courtesy. Great job all around.

<p>They came on time with a U-Haul. They came on the day they were supposed too. I Hired 3 movers for the move. They completed the move. The reason for the low rating was due to the following reasons. 2 of the three movers seem qualified the other mover was slow and not experienced. The movers came with nothing but blankets(no tools, I had to find them tools, meanwhile they were staring around). They moved fast but were disorganized. What made me rate them even lower was the fact that during the move into the new apartment they lost some of the tools and hardware for some of the furniture, and the weird part was that they didn't reassemble the furniture correctly and many of the pieces were not fastened correctly or not at all. Mostly all the furniture that needed to be reassembled were missing parts because they were disorganized and cut corners. My bedroom set had some electrical that was disassembled and not reassembled at all and hidden behind furniture. My bunk beds are now missing about half the hardware they started with. They had not idea how/what/where to reassemble furniture or where the missing hardware went. Will not use again in future.</p> <br />

They were wonderful. Kept in touch with me via text messages to let me know when they started out, the delay they encountered due to an accident on route, when they arrived at the nursing home. quickly and efficiently removed the furniture to the truck, while also speaking kindly to my mom (age 92). when we arrived at the assisted living facility, they said they would move in the furniture while I helped Mom get around the facility and then find me to settle the bill. 10 minutes later the furniture was all in place and ready for her, and I was able to get her settled. All in all, gentlemen I would hire again. <br />

I contacted the provider in the morning because I needed to have 2 large bathroom vanities moved from the garage to upstairs. Another team was suppose to do this for me, but they didn't show...so, I was scrambling to get somebody else so my bathroom remodel could stay on schedule. I received a prompt response from ARM and was able to work out a convenient time to complete the job. <br />

I was told that I would have a truck and some men to begin at 10am, the moving men got there at 9:30am, and very friendly. I told them what needed to be moved and they started right away. They had the truck loaded and ready to go in 2hrs. And we went to my new apartment which was on the second floor and you had to use and elevator. The two guys started as soon as they got there and never stop till it was finished which was 4 hours later. They took furniture apart for the move and put it back together again, they placed furniture where I wanted it without hesitation they truly did a great job. And I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for movers. <br />

This was my second use of these movers. They're on time, work fast, are polite, didn't complain about the stairs, took a couch apart in order to get into a room and put it back together, no complaints.

Everything went really well, the two guys showed up on time, there were really friendly and did a awesome job with unloading the pods. They were also helpful in helping me document the damage incurred in transit due to the AWFUL loading job done by another mover in California. <br /> The only hiccups were that while Jeff (the owner) is a really nice guy... he's hella slow with responding to emails. I've found that texting him works better and I guess it may be that he's really busy but still nerve-wracking when you have allot riding on the unload and can't get things pinned down. The other thing was that there was some confusion around proration of the final hour. I was expecting that I wouldn't be charged for a full hour if we didn't use it, however Jeff maintains that he told me this in advance but I'm fairly confident I didn't hear this. With that said... he did help me out and sent a guy back to help me with something else later in the day which was really helpful. <br /> Overall, Jeff did come through, he was nice and his guys were great. I would surely hire them again and I'll make sure I plan the full hour so there is no confusion. <br />

The movers arrived on time ready to work. They had a difficult time getting my treadmill out of the basement, and had to take it apart. But they put it back together on the other end exactly the way it was. They discovered my lawn tractor would not go up the ramp to the moving truck, so the owner himself came back later in the day with a trailer to pick it up and move it without any additional cost. I would definitely use this company again. <br />

I live in CT and had to arrange for furniture to be picked up at someone's home near Albany, NY and delivered to my daughter's new apartment in Boston, where I would meet and pay the moving men. <br /> Affordable Reliable Movers did an outstanding job. From the moment I contacted Jeff on Craig's List he was responsive and asked questions to get a handle on just was what entailed. His price was fair and he was willing to negotiate so that both of us felt a fair deal was struck. There was about a week and a half between the time I hired his services and the time of the move. He checked in with me to make sure that we were still "on" and answered all my emailed questions quickly. <br /> The two young men who arrived on time, despite the terrible weather, were very professional and personable. They were so helpful to us and went above and beyond what they were hired for by pitching in a hand to help us with items that we had moved in our own vehicle. They were tireless and cheerful - truly "service with a smile". <br /> This was a flawless service experience. Everything went very well. I contacted them through Angie's List and they were very responsive and answered all my questions. They even contacted us the night before the move to verify any last minute details. The move went as well as could be expected. They showed up on time and took very few breaks. It took about 4 hours to load the truck, which I thought was reasonable seeing everything had to be carried down a flight and a half of narrow stairs. Once we arrived at our new home they had the truck unloaded in less than 2 hours. The guys were great and more than willing to help us in any way they could. They even helped us move some furniture that was delivered prior to our move. I would definitely hire Affordable Reliable Movers again when needed. <br />

I've had two very negative experiences with the national moving chains (American Van Lines and Nationwide Relocation Services) and since then have been very cautious about hiring movers. This small, local business did things right from start to finish and I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a mover in the area. <br /> They answered all of my questions leading up to the move. <br /> They quoted me an exact price that wasn't based on an unknown variable such as hours worked or weight of the truck. <br /> They showed up on time and while they loaded the truck quickly they weren't being careless or mishandling my belongings. After they went straight to Rochester (and showed up before I did). I was in communication with them on the road. <br /> On the other end, I labeled my boxes based on what room they were going in, and stacked them neatly. They had no problem following this instruction and went out of their way to ask about the ones I forgot to label. Nothing was damaged, misplaced or forgotten. <br /> This is a good, honest local business that I would recommend to anyone. <br />

We arranged for this company to move our two storage lockers and remaining contents of a small home to our new home. We had previously moved a lot of stuff to the storage facility. The plan was to load at the storage facility first and then go to the house and add the remaining contents to the truck and then on to the new house. We offered an inventory list to help with estimating and size of truck and he didn't want it. We were told there would be two men and a 21-foot box truck. My husband told them a 21-foot truck would definitely not be big enough. But the owner reassured him and we moved forward. <br /> On the day of the move, two guys showed up with a U-Haul truck (21 feet?). The owner was not with them. The guys were great! Polite, careful, and hard working. They knew how to pack a truck. It took two trips from storage and one from our house. In the late afternoon, one of the men was swapped for another, who had already worked all day on another job. Late in the evening, we agreed to not complete the move. They took a few more small things and disassembled our bed and put it in the truck. I think they finished up at 10 PM (bed assembled) after arriving at 8 AM. It was a much longer day than anticipated and we still have stuff at the old house that needs to be moved. <br /> In hindsight, the truck was too small and we needed another man. Several hours were spent driving back and forth and the move was not completed. My husband had to do a lot of lifting and that is exactly what we wanted to avoid by hiring movers. <br /> We should have negotiated for a bigger truck and a third guy at a higher hourly rate. Six more feet of truck and another guy would have made a big difference.

In a nutshell, the entire move went very badly. We called to ask questions about scheduling a move about a week in advance. We gave detailed instructions via email at the time we scheduled the move; these were not passed on to the men who arrived to do the job. When the two men arrived at 11:00a, they seems rather lost. I greeted them and showed them the things that would need to be moved. They did not speak; only nodded. When I asked if they had any questions, they said no, and that they were going to go out to their truck to get their equipment. As they were leaving, one of the men said "I am leaving at 3:00, no matter what." <br /> This worried me and I called the owner. I told him I was concerned about the level of professionalism and the fact that the men said they had a deadline. He assured me there was no deadline, and that we had all the time we needed. He vouched for the men and said that both were very professional and highly skilled. I unfortunately believed him. <br /> We were told they would have tools to disassemble any furniture that would need to be broken down before it was moved. They arrived with only two screwdrivers. The loading processes took much longer than we thought. It seemed to us that they were moving intentionally slow, as they were being paid hourly. The truck took 2.5 hours to load. Despite the detailed instructions provided well in advance, the movers did not know where to go or how to bring the equipment into the new space. <br /> We had told them ahead of time that some large furniture in office space we were moving into would need to be relocated. The owner said this would not be a problem. When the two movers saw the furniture, they griped and called their boss, complaining the the job was going to take longer than they planned. Around 2:00, the men called their boss to ask for more help. He said more help was on the way. <br /> Before any additional help arrived, one of the two movers left the job at 2:30. This was not communicated to me until 4:00. I was under the impression that both men were still working. Eventually the owner showed up with 2 additional men. They didn't not arrive with any additionally tools to help reassembly the furniture. A fair amount of the furniture we asked them not to reassemble, as it was taking so much longer than we had planned. <br /> The move was not anticipated to take more than 4 hours. It ended up taking 7 hours. We negotiated the price, due to all of the trouble. Instead of $735 (7 hours @ $105 per hour) we ended up paying $500. <br /> I would not recommend this service provider to anyone. They were hired so that we would not have to move the furniture ourselves. We had to assist the movers significantly; otherwise, we would have been there a lot longer, waiting for them to finish the job. As it was, they did not finish till after 6:00p. The scope of services was preformed extremely unprofessionally. There was no contract, no reply to my email. The truck they used was a rented U-Haul truck. Despite their name, they were extremely unreliable. <br />

"Never in my life have I ever met such a miserable person. We showed up on time and ready to work, nothing was damaged, we took great care of your belongings. Your expectation to move an entire office, including disassembly, and reassembly (large 3-4 piece desks and tables) from a third floor to a fourth floor location in 4 hours is impossible. No one could have completed this job in 4 hrs. We have you a HUGE discount mainly just to get out of the hostile environment in which verbal attacks on the workers occurred. Please ignore this review and read the rest of the reviews."

Sunday crew members moved out my apartment & packed the truck very efficiently, no worries. Was delighted to have their help on such a short notice. Monday was a different crew, they were tardy but worked very hard to get me moved into my new apartment. I would not have been able to accomplish this move without their help & service.
