I asked him to look at it a small tree in the back yard. Could he could that down too? “No problem I can throw that in no extra cost.” Me: Great and your guys will bring it to front or mulch it too as my dad just died and stepmother can’t handle this? Him: of course. Me: and the oak you are cutting down? What will you do with that because we’d like some of the mulch for the yard. Thibodeaux: No problem. I also would like to get an estimate at my moms house. Can you swing by there? Call me and I’ll meet you there. Ok. My step mom doesn’t want all the mulch. Can you drop the rest off at the other house? Thibodeaux: “sure.” Day the trees are cut no mulch left and little tree still there. I call. Him: “we’ll get to it this week “ three weeks later I call again. “Thibodeaux says “you are trying to get freebies, taking advantage, said his customer was my stepmother not me (I was calling on her behalf) blah blah blah. He overcharged for the job, didn’t do what he said. Never even followed up to give bid on other house. Will NEVER again use or recommend. What they say is true about second generation trying to take over a family business.

The work is great! The tree's are looking in top shape this spring. They do a perfect job of selectively trimming limbs, keeping the tree in balance and looking good. They are expensive, yes. If you treasure your trees, use Bob's. If you want to have the job done cheaply, then use someone else. Good luck. You get what you pay for.

I had used Bob's Tree Service before and had been very satisfied, so they were the only company I called for a bid on this large job. Due to the amount of rain we'd recently received, the job was delayed several times, but I had no problem with this since, of course, the weather was no one's fault. <br /> The job estimate included grinding of all stumps left from the removal of trees, but when the job ended, the foreman came to me and said that the Chinese tallow trees had grown up around metal posts, which meant that, while they were able to remove the top part of the tree, they could not grind the stumps until the posts had been removed. At this time, he promised that as soon as was possible after we removed the metal poles, Bob's would return to grind those stumps.  As we were very eager to have the trees gone, I assured him that we would have the poles removed within a few days. Even though the job was not finished, I paid the invoice, confident that Bob's would stand by their word. <br /> Within a week, the metal posts had been removed, and I called my contact at Bob's to schedule the final stump grinding. He told me that Bob's currently had no work on my end of town (Carencro area)  and he couldn't justify the expense of coming all the way out here just for one small job. He again assured me that they would indeed be out to finish the job they had already been paid to do as soon as they had other work in my area. <br /> Fast forward four months. I had never heard back, and so called their office to have the matter resolved. The person who answered the phone assured me that they were very sorry, and the job would be taken care of "as soon as possible." A few days later I received a very curt note in the mail from the job foreman, saying the "original charge for grinding considered that we grind all of the stumps in one mobilization," but that, "because of the work you have done with us in the past, we agreed to come back at some point to grind what was remaining." Needless to say, a year later, I haven't heard a single word from Bob's Tree Service. Had I known then that the job would never have been completed, I certainly would have withheld payment until everything had been finished. Unfortunately, I instead trusted that Bob's would keep their word. <br /> I won't be making that mistake again. <br />

We had an infestation of "yellow neck" caterpillars.  The worms were primarily on two mature river birch trees.  One of the trees had already been totally destroyed by the caterpillars, but the worms were now moving to the rest of our landscaping on the front of the house. <br /> I called Bob's Tree Preservation and talked to Mr. Frank and Mr. Bob Thibodeaux.  The next morning, Mr. Jay Branch was at our house at 7:00 AM to assess the problem, recommend an insecticide and give us a proposal to spray our entire landscaping, including all trees.  The price was very reasonable and Bob's Tree Preservation was awarded the work to spray our landscaping. <br /> The following day, they showed up with all their spraying equipment and did an excellent job spraying a special chemical that not only would kill the "yellow neck" caterpillars, but would also protect our landscaping from getting consumed by caterpillars or other pests. <br /> After a couple of days later, after spraying, we have been checking our trees and landscaping for any signs of "yellow necks", and we have not seen any signs of them. <br /> We are very pleased with the responsiveness, professionalism and results of the work that Bob's Tree Preservation performed on our landscaping. <br /> Our thanks to Bob's Tree Preservation for taking care of our problem. <br />

They did a complete and professional job.  They were on time and that means a lot.  Bob's called me right back and came the next day to give me a price. <br />

three men showed up to cut the tree one man went up in the tree and started cutting the limbs the two men on the ground cut the limbs up and put the wood on a trailer after the tree was all cut up they ground the stump down below ground level and filled in over area where they had ground the stump, then they raked the area and feft with the yeard looking good.a job done right. <br />

It was expensive. We have a very big yard. They are a family owned company and they have been around for a very long time. They have a good track record. They are just great. I would absolutely use them again.

Excellent work, fast and efficient.  Even brought us some firewood for the winter.

Excellent work and professionalism by the management and the work crew.  Once the job was finished, a manager returned to review the job and to explain what was done.  (The same manager had explained the procedure and the reasoning behind what would be done in detail prior to the actual job being performed.)  Bob's is very professional and, in my opinion (based on my past experiences), the top of the line tree preservation and maintenance service in this area.  The service fees are quite hefty (again based on my prior experiences with other providers), but the work is excellent.  The work crew also made a thorough effort to remove branches, limbs, and leaves from the grounds and my home's roof.  My yard and house were not damaged despite the fact that the crew had to climb up on the house to access some of the tree limbs.  Overall, I recommend Bob's Tree Preservation to anyone who values the trees on his / her property or yard.

The job was awesome. They were professional. I wouldn't use anyone else. They were very honest. This man has a good reputation. He's been in service for years. When we had big trees, he was awesome. We compared prices, and I remember it was very fair. He tries to save the tree, and do what he can before chopping it down as a last resort. In Louisiana, these are 40-foot oak trees. If a hurricane comes in, they will fall down on your house. A lot of tree services prey on you, and chop down your trees. So, we were very impressed with him.

I was EXTREMELY pleased with the work they did and would definitely have them back again!

We were very pleased with his services. He does great quality of work and very reliable. He was efficient in his work and very ethical. We will continue to use him in the future if we every have the need.

Took a few days (to a week) to get someone to return our calls, BUT when they did come out they were EXTREMELY knowledgeable and very professional.  I found them to be reasonable priced.  I will have them come out again....if they return my call!!!

Bob's is the best tree service in Acadiana. They are real arborists - not just hacks who will come cut a tree. They know how to preserve and maintain the beautiful live oaks that grace so many Acadiana homes. They are not cheap, but they are priced fairly.

I have spent hundreds or thousands over with them over the years. They have done tree trimming, fertilization and even some care for the root maintenance of the trees. I like that they do very professional work and that they are dependable. I don?t like that they don?t keep in touch with their clients and follow-up in terms of maintenance of the trees. They do quality work.

Excellent experience. Bob's is the best in this area for real tree preservation services. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Great. The tree maintenance work was excellent. The planted live oak tree is flourishing. Bob's is the best tree service in the area. They are trained, certified arborists - not just 'tree cutters'. They really know how to care for and preserve trees. They will trim them artfully, so they look better than before - they are not butchers and won't cut a limb unless it is necessary. They recommend the best tree-maintenance practices and try to educate homeowners about the right way to care for trees and their landscape. They are not cheap - but in this case you get the good service that you pay for.

This yard and the trees had been "let go" for probably 20 years, and Bob's crew came in and really did a nice job of taking care of the trees and removing the problems.
