Bostick Remodeling LLC

I hired Bostick Remodeling(BR) to do a number of projects all of which went wrong in a variety of ways. This contractor will give you the impression he is working in your best interest but for my projects he did not. BR was hired to smooth textured walls with plaster and no dry sanding. The job was supposed to take 4-5 days. It was not complete after 4 weeks and one week into the job they started dry sanding, creating a major inconvenience of plaster dust everywhere in the home for weeks. BR was also hired to pour a cement patio. He hired an incompetent person to do this claiming he had 40 years experience and was 'really good at it'. The patio came out looking terrible with low spots where water puddles, crooked joint lines and ugly staining from not handling the concrete pour properly. I filed an AZ Registrar of Contractors complaint and Bostick Remodel was issued a violation for the cement patio not meeting industry standards. I also asked this contractor to add HVAC duct work for the back room. He attempted this by cutting into the main duct, connecting 2 flex ducts which ran to the back room. There was nearly zero air flow out of these ducts while the contractor insisted it was proper air flow. The air flow was very weak and could not cool or heat this room. BR removed a section of slump block load bearing wall and installed a header beam to support the load. BR assured me that the beam was properly sized and would supply an engineer report stating so. In a subsequent inspection by an architect sent by BR it was determined that the header beam was not large enough. BR promised to rectify this at his expense but as of this date May 14 2017 he has not done so. This contractor removed an old slide door and attempted to install a new one which I purchased. When I saw that the door was being installed improperly according to the door manufacturer's installation guide regarding the bottom sill, I brought this to BR's attention. He became irate, abusing me with obscenities and then abandoned the job. I would not recommend this contractor under any circumstances.

They are nice people.  Travis is friendly and I know wants to do a good job, but my wife and I have noticed little things that should have been dealt with to make the job excellent.  It is not worth calling them back to deal with them.  We will take care of them ourselves.  Travis seemed to be in a hurry much of the time and pushed his help to rush through jobs they shouldn't have rushed through. <br /> The work is adequate and most people wouldn't notice the little, nitpicky things we do, but for the amount of money we spent, I expect near perfection.

It was a great experience to work with Hugo, the foreman and owner,, and his crew. They were very thorough. Even redoing a ceiling and wall that Hugo was not satisfied with (to my eye it was OK). All of their work was done and completed to an excellent standard. And timely. I would certainly recommend this firm and would not hesitate to have them back in my home. I must add that every evening and upon completion of their work, they did a total clean up. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

Travis is very competent and skilled at many things that are quite distinct from one another as noted in the diversity of remodeling tasks he performed at our newly acquired home. Each sub-project involved work from the design stage to implementation. He worked closely with us from a distance since we wanted the remodeling completed before we moved. Although he would periodically get pulled away to handle the drywall business associated with his contract with Plumb Plumbing, it did not cause major delays. Each aspect of our work was also bid to others and Travis was always competitive. Most important, he is an excellent communicator-a rare quality in the construction and remodeling world. At least each week, if not more frequently, he called, texted or emailed updates, including photos of his work in progress. We developed a close working relationship and we trusted him thoroughly. We have considerable experience with residential and institutional construction, remodeling and interior design, so we tend to be very hands on. Travis always rose to the occasion, was never offended by suggestions or corrections, and was very responsive to our designs and needs. <br />

Travis Bostick and his crew came out the first day and within 2-3 hours, the dry wall portions removed during the re-piping were back in place. After passing inspection required by the city, the team returned and covered the dry wall, matching the original texture of the walls in each room. They were able to finish the job efficiently, expertly, and even repaired some other areas of dry wall in the house that were not affected by the re-piping procedure. They were terrific and Travis couldn't have been more personable and professional. We would recommend this company to our friends and wouldn't hesitate to employ their services again in the future. <br />

They call me to schedule the repairs with in hours of the inspection being completed and kindly worked around my schedule. Although they arrived later than they said by an hour and a half, they called ahead to let me know they would be late and they called again when they were on their way. The communication as appreciated. The crew was very fast and yet did a great job matching the texture of walls and making everything look nice. They cleaned up well after they were through. <br />

I first met Travis Bostick when he was subcontracted to do the drywall repair for the total re-pipe of a newly purchased home for my mom. He and his crew did a fantastic job with the drywall repair, blending the texture in to match with what was previously there. Since I liked his work, I hired him again to do some additional work. Travis was on-time, courteous, professional and personable. He and his crew did the requested work in a timely fashion and kept me informed of the time line and schedule. He also works with his crew members guiding them as they work to ensure quality workmanship. <br /> During the requested work, Travis found a leak that needed attention as water damage was evident. I was very thankful that Travis spotted this leak, as I had missed it and was not in the area of the leak very often to observe it. He put in a call to the plumber to discuss the situation with them. They came out the next morning to check it out. The leak was fixed, and Travis was able to do the necessary drywall repair. <br /> I found Travis to be trustworthy, fair and respectful. He and his crew did a nice job, taking care to save all items that I planned to reuse. They also took care to clean up after the job was finished. The recessed light box in the kitchen is exactly what I had hoped for, and I was pleasantly surprised when Travis showed me that he had textured the drywall within the box in case I wanted to have that painted as well. Nice attention to detail! My mom will love it! <br /> I will gladly hire him again in the future.
