Everything went well. The workers were very professional, they cleaned up after themselves, and they did a quality job.

Also I'm still confused by his statement that you shouldn't caulk between tub and tile because it needs to breathe. Everyone I've spoken to afterwards about that just laughs.

The grout lasted less than a year. It was turning yellow and brown. So I had to have another company come out to correct the work.

The tile surround came out nicely. It was a little problematic because there was some unevenness in the design, due to measurements/space. He cleaned up the worst of the dirt/dust, but I had to finish up a lot of it. We had worked out a fair price between us, but the ceiling damage due to the leak cost me an additional $150 for a plumber, which was never refunded by Brad.

The leak was caused by a pipe fitting not being tightened inside the shower wall and every time we showered, water sprayed all over behind the wall and ran down to the LR ceiling. The water leak was fixed by a plumber for $150 and Brad came out to fix the ceiling (plastering and painting). The ceiling looks fair, but the outline of the fix is very apparent. I think he should have reimbursed me the $150 for the plumbing fix, since he caused it in the first place.

I tried contacting Brad about the $150 repair bill, but I've gotten no response (of course). I think this is very dishonest. There's no way he's going to work off the $150, as I would never let him in my house again.

While he was working, he would juggle other jobs at the same time and sometimes be gone for hours and come back much later than promised. It made it difficult to plan my days, since I never knew when he was coming back to finish. He would pull no-shows, would cancel and delay our appointments because he had other jobs going on, some very far away. Very inefficient and scattered.

Brad's reply to my complaint is very convenient and patently false. First of all, how was I to know he didn't want me to purchase a deal from Angies List? He could have easily just told me to get a refund instead of stringing me along, saying he would honor it later and later. Secondly, there was not severe water damage to my tub area and he knows it. We talked about the job and agreed to do a complete re-tile in order to update the house and do the job right so we could either rent or sell our house. The shower was not leaky when he opened up the wall. I paid for all materials; he makes it sound like he supplied all kinds of things for the price. He also did NOT work for 2 weeks. He came one day, left and came back during that day, then came back for several hours the next day (didn't work a full day by any means at my house). Left the job until the following week because he was overbooking himself, which we would only find out because he wouldn't show up for work at our house. Two weeks!! What a lie. Finally we got the tile grouted (by another guy, not Brad) and we waited another several days for Brad to come back and install the soap dish and fittings.

I hired Brad's buddy, Wright Plumbing, to install a toilet and do some outside repairs, which I paid for separately ($400). A MONTH LATER, I called Wright Plumbing because there was water leaking into the living room below the bathroom upstairs. He determined that the leak was coming from the shower pipe fitting, which had not been installed and tightened correctly by Brad Rowley, thereby allowing water to spray all over the inside wall whenever we took showers. Water was building up inside the walls and running down to the ceiling below. As the bulge in the ceiling grew, I knew something was not right. Both Wright Plumbing and Brad Rowley know for a fact that I hired Wright Plumbing A SECOND TIME as an EMERGENCY measure to fix Brad's mistake. I paid $150 for that repair. Brad knows it, Wright Plumbing knows it and I know it. Brad refuses to repay the $150 and is very glibly only referring to the tile job and not the ceiling damage. He knows he was at my house repairing the ceiling in the living room, which would not have had to be done if he had installed the shower pipes correctly. Admit what went wrong, Brad, and pay for it as any honest pro would do.
Response from BRAD'S FLOORING
"The member purchases and $89 Big Deal coupon for caulking repair. This coupon was sold to her against my wishes. When I visited her house her tub enclosure was severely water damaged. I provided an estimate and credited the coupon. Work performed: removed damaged tile, removed rotted drywall, removed leaky shower, replaced old plumbing with new copper, new backerboard, and new tile. I charged $855 with the coupon. I worked there for 2 weeks. Refereed licensed plumber."

I initally called and made an appointment with Brad for some recaulking and grout work in our master bathroom and shower. He texted me on the day of the appointment that he had to go out of town and could not make it. I said this was alright, as he had noted he would call and reschedule when he got back. I didn't hear from him for a few weeks, so I called and we made another appointment. The second appointment date came and went.

After he was about an hour or so late, I contacted him to see what was going on. He told me that his office had been destroyed in flooding from some heavy rains in the area. He asked for a couple of weeks to get back on his feet from this and then he would reschedule. I still haven't heard from him, those rains were in the spring.

My experience with them did not go very well. When someone does caulking work, they have to be really detail oriented. That too when the job is done for someone who wants things really perfect, being sloppy about caulking is not a good idea. When he was taking out the old caulk, he chipped a piece of my countertop. There was a hole that I haven’t seen before about quarter of an inch. It was large enough for water to seep underneath and create a problem for me. I don’t know if he did that or not but no one else was back there dealing with it.

I last used their service about two months ago and the service worked very well. I was very happy. The guy that came out did a great job. He was very accommodating to my schedule and we were able to postpone it a little bit longer because our house was going on the market and he was fine with the schedule that we want.

They replaced our tiles. They were very good. They came in March, probably a year ago. We bought a special online. He did a good job. It was a positive experience. We bought the tiles and the materials and he put them in . We had a problem - the floor was not the same level and he fixed that. He had a workaround and figure things out. We were happy with him. He had good customer service skills.

To begin with, Brad was very challenging to get ahold of. He was clearly overwhelmed with the volume that came with offering a Big Deal through Angie's List. Due to this, we were EXTREMELY patient in getting our job scheduled. We allowed Brad to reschedule five times - he no showed once and the other times we called him beforehand to reconfirm and he requested to reschedule. Again, we were very patient and understanding. In preparation of Brad coming we had purchased all of the grout and caulk that was needed for the shower. He needed to provide the caulk for the kitchen. He arrived without the kitchen caulk and needed to run to the store to get it. He spent most of his time in our home telling us how poorly the shower tile had been installed and how he would have done it differently. He didn't use the grout, but instead put caulk in where the grout should have been. He said it was the best he could do. He caulked the granite area in the kitchen, but within a day or two, it had cracked and bubbled because he didn't use enough caulk to fill the crack. He left without caulking the kitchen sink. When I call him he said he had forgotten and he would call to come back within the week to do that and fix the other issues. That was the last we heard from Brad. Very disappointing experience!
I had a prefab shower stall that was leaking water from an unidentified place so I requested Brad to rechaulk the entire shower stall. He removed all of the previous chaulk which was a big task. He neatly rechaulked the entire stall. Unfortunately water continued to leak from the shower stall and we had to chaulk the drain ourselves which fixed the problem.
Brad also reattached and grouted some loose tiles in another bathroom. The tiles have remained securely in place. Brad even took the shower doors down for me so I could thoroughly clean them while he worked in the shower.
I feel Brad spent a lot of time on my projects for the amount he was paid.
When I bought this big deal I originally thought it was taking out all
of the bathroom shower's grout and starting over. However, this was
only a restoration of specific areas. The issue of the grout is taken
care of and we are happy with the service.
The only issue I had
was scheduling this appointment. It took over 6 months+ to figure out a
day for Brad to come out. He does respond better phone calls than email.
Overall, Brad was punctual and professional on the day of the service.
He was terrific! He did everything in about two hours. He cleaned the grout and caulked in 1 shower and 1 bathtub. He also answered my questions about my kitchen floor.

It took a while to schedule the visit, but it wasn't an urgent problem, so that wasn't a big issue. The repairs that he made seem to have helped the problem. I think the underlying issue is the way the shower stall was originally constructed, so there's not much he could do about that. As far as I can tell, he did a good job.
The job was not done very well because he missed caulking in a few places. I am glad I caught the problem because I could have had a problem if water got into the area.

I am not happy with the way Brad's Flooring handled money. I didn?t review item by item of the material receipts he summited to me until it was too late. I found out he purchased the construction materials with the receipt under my name for:

- Jerky Beefs from Home Depot, not for me

- T-Shirts, Bulldozer Short Sleeve T-Shirt,Heavyweight-Hooded-Zip-Sweater from Villa Park Electrical Supply (I never see
him wearing any of them at my site).

- Construction 48" Level (Doesn?t he have the very basic tool?)

- A fancy Tool Organizer (I never see him carrying it to my site)

- His company rented tools, I paid for the deposit, when the tools were returned, Home Depot showed me the proof of returned the deposit to Brad?s company, but I never get the deposit back.

I bought a Groupon for caulk and grout repair. Brad was very busy due to the response to the deal, and we scheduled a date a couple months out. Then I had something come up and wanted to get the work done quickly, and he was able to change his schedule to accomodate me.

I did not have the right color caulk for part of the job, so Brad found it at one of his suppliers and picked it up for me. Using that and some grout that I had, he removed and replaced old caulk and grout in three bathrooms and two locations in the kitchen. He was very meticulous, and obviously takes pride in doing the job right.

Brad's price was very reasonable - even without the Groupon it would have been good. I will definitely call him the next time I have a large or small tile installation or repair to do.

I picked up a special deal for re-grouting and tile repair. Brad proactively called me to schedule an appointment. He arrived a few minutes early, did a fantastic job and offered some great advice on matching grout for tile repair I will need in the future. Brad's hourly rate is more then fair and I will us him in for all of my tile and bathroom remodeling needs.

Brad was very personable and professional. He came out to give a quote on ceramic tile but was able to quote drywall/painting work as well. He was prompt and really knew his stuff! His quote was not the lowest but was definitely the most complete. He helped us to figure out the best way to fit the project into our budget by working with us on what we could do ourselves (demo, wall painting). The guy working with Brad showed up (on time) on the first day and helped me pick out materials and offered suggestions on the best way to finish our sunroom to make it look truly finished. They showed up each day when they said they would and if they were going to be late they called, I have never worked with a contractor who was so prompt and considerate of MY time, I greatly appreciated that! They worked very cleanly and kept me posted every step of the way. The work was the highest quality, our sunroom looks like a new room, makes the rest of the house look like it needs to be remodeled because it pales in comparison to the beautiful sunroom. We can't wait to work with Brad again in the future on other tile projects!

We live in Westchester and needed to repair the basement from flood damage. My husband and I ripped off two layers of tile on the floor before Brad's Flooring came to give us an estimate. Since we were having the floor replaced, I also wanted to take out the old ceiling tile and replace it with drywall. When Vincent Scarpelli and his son, Brad, came out to give us an estimate, they were very proffessional and came prepared to measure and document. Vincent noticed things other bidders did not. Example, how the floor sloaped toward the floor drain and wondered if that might cause a problem with laying tile. Gas lines in the ceiling hung lower in one corner. He suggested he could build a soffit around that section. I thought it was a great idea. Before they came to begin work, my husband and I removed the ceiling tile. Approximately one to two weeks later, they dropped of the supplies and began working. It took a total of two days to complete their work. They worked fast and efficient. They didn't make a mess and cleaned up after themselves. I'm very pleased and will have them back to complete some other projects. The bid was true to the final bill.
