After wasting weeks dealing with general contractors who wanted to charge an absolute fortune for a basic wood platform I decided to look for a company that strictly does custom deck building and finding this brand was a massive stroke of luck. They came out and immediately spotted why my old deck joists were sagging then laid out a seamless plan to reinforce the entire structural carpentry before laying down a flawless Trex setup. I didn't want a bunch of random subcontractors showing up at my house unannounced and this business is great because their core team handles the whole building project from start to finish with zero downtime. The modern railing they installed completely transformed the profile of our house and the price stayed exactly what we agreed on which is a miracle in the construction world these days.

Brandon did a great job from start to finish. His estimate was the best by far. He had several samples for me to look at, so deciding on the colors/styles I wanted was easy. This guy knows how to build and is pleasant and professional. Very happy with his work. Provided us with a timely visit for a review of the work, picked up all the supplies and got the job done quickly. He built us new stairs.

So we've been trying to get this deck project off the ground since last spring. We called maybe four different companies in Michigan and getting someone to actually show up for a quote was a headache. Brandon finally came out and he was just very straightforward. We decided to bite the bullet and go with Trex because I am just completely done with power washing and staining every single year. The teardown of the old deck was messy, i have to admit. But they had a dumpster in the driveway and got rid of everything by the end of the second day. The framing part was what actually took the longest since they had to dig new holes for the footings. I read on their website about joist tape preventing wood rot underneath the composite, and sure enough, they were laying it all down before the Trex went on. The finished deck is a very simple rectangular layout, but it gives us so much room. We got the aluminum railings which feel very secure. There was a small hiccup where one of the railing caps got scratched during shipping, but Brandon ordered a replacement and popped it on a few days later. Overall, it was just a normal, professional experience.

My experience with Brandon and his crew was solid. We just wanted a basic 12x16 wood deck off the back door, nothing crazy or multi-level. A lot of the bigger construction companies wouldn't even return my calls because the job was probably too small for them. Brandon treated it like any other project, gave me a price, and we signed the paperwork. They started on a Monday. The guys were quiet, which my wife appreciated because she works in the room right next to the backyard. They dug the posts, poured the concrete, and had the whole frame up by Tuesday afternoon. They used good quality treated lumber, not the cheap stuff that's already warped before you even buy it. It took about four days total. The stairs are even and the railing doesn't wobble if you lean on it. I asked Brandon how long I should wait before I put a stain on it, and he gave me a rundown on how the wood needs to dry out first. It was a very straightforward transaction without any fluff.

What a nightmare. Hindsight is 20/20, i shouldve been more on top of things with brandon. This was my first time hiring a contractor and I was too trusting of his process. My fault. We got a deck build with a full pergola. What we received was a deck with a tiny pergola in the corner. We received a part vebal quote in person, and then worked out some details via text. What I learned is that anything said verbally was disregarded, and anything documented was as vague as possible. Our contract was a vague as build a deck. We received no drawings, no itemized or formal quote, the diagram for the city had no pergola on it, and so we were in the dark. We were upset with our miniature pergola as you can imagine, it was a quarter of the intended size, and Brandon decided on his own where the place the tiny thing. Had he or someone asked where it should be placed, we would have caught the problem before it was built as it should have been the entire size of the deck. I was told it would be 5k extra to get the pergola we thought we were getting the whole time. Being a mini pergola, there was also a support beam cutting through the center of our deck now that was not supposed to be there. I've gotta say, this was one of the more interesting ways I've heard of a contractor screwing people over. I was told it was too hard to fix, so I wanted it removed, they wanted to charge me for that. I said I wanted my money back from the pergola, then I was told I didn't pay for the pergola so there wasn't any reason to give me money back. (At this point I stopped talking via phone because everything needed to be documented in writing.) I was told it was a $1300 pergola. Then, I did the math based on the little info I had and realized I paid 2k+ for the pergola. Didn't matter to them. Instead of fixing the mistake Brandon kept just saying it was a steal, and I got a great deal, and labor is high. So now the pergolas down and gone. I got about a 30% refund on the pergola that is no longer there. All in all, don't give your money to them, it's a headache, and if you get into a situation, he'll let you know how good he is at going to court, which is a red flag right there.

What an amazing transformation Brandon and his crew did on our deck. We are more than satisfied with how it came out. Brandon and his crew were ​extremely easy to work with, respectful, and always had our best interests in mind. It was a pleasure working with them and we are already talking to him about another project. Would definitely recommend.

Outstanding in everyway. Brandon and his office communicated often to let us know specifics such as permits, and all the paperwork, of which he took care of and a HUGE plus! Brandon and his team and absolutely amazing. They made my deck dream come true after a very awful experience with our previous contractor. If he said he was coming he was there, and they worked fast. He gave me a 2 week time frame and had it done in 1. I couldn’t be happier.
