Went without a hitch. He called, arrived when planned, did the work, and with no complaints - only approval - from my picky husband. I was at work, so my husband supervised, and if he was satisfied, it was really done well.
Unfortunately, the gentleman presented himself as being knowledgeable about the situation when he really wasn't. Thus, we had to hire another gentleman who knew exactly how to address the tub's electrical issues.

He did some painting and small repairs to the walls. He did a good job. There were extra costs and it turned out to be more expensive.

Not well. Firstly, although he indicated he could do all the work required and took on the job, and indeed he could in theory. He simply had no idea what the building codes required, therefore most of the work he did had to be re-done and thus was a waste of time and money. He also charged for running around town to buy parts at a significant dollar amount of the total price, and did not even buy all the necessary items and bought parts not needed as well. He could have and should have used the phone more, and his truck, time, gas, (and thus, my money, less). He installed parts in the house and the roof, but unfortunately, as stated, most needed to be done again as ducts were the wrong size for the gas codes, or put in parts that had to be replaced as not allowed. At one point he asked me what to use---like I knew!?? How would I know? I re-did most of it myself after he was done and the County inspector had come and indicated all the things done wrong and what was required. Brandon did work hard and fast, he simply did not know what he should have done and should not have taken on the job in the first place. If you need work done that does not require going to stores to get parts, or any building codes, I would recommend him, as he does work fast, and is punctual and polite. I indicated this in a separate review for another service prior to this one. However, in this particular case, he simply cost us a lot of extra money and time. He should not have taken on this job; he knew it required gas code knowledge.
I do not know exactly what the dates were he worked for us nor the exact amount, but the above is fairly close.
Generally needed help to organize the garage somewhat. Took many things out and to Goodwill, I think. Mounted tools on the garage wall, and lifted and help sort many boxes and loose items. He was very helpful and worked hard. We used him another time which did not go so well (see other review), but for general help if you know what you need done, and it doesn't involve any building codes, he is very good. I really don't know the date he helped, but I think it was in 2011.
The service was adequate. The work got done. Workers gave only minimal attention to detail; some work was sloppy. Eager to get done quickly.
Brandon William HandyMan & Remodeling Services showed up for work drunk, went to jail and therefore he didn't show up for a while. He over charged so he owes us money because he didn't do all the work that he was supposed to, even the work he was trying to do was poorly done. It's a terrible review for him. I will never send anybody else to him. It was not a happy experience. He did a really lousy job. He was supposed to come back to do some fixing and I think he never did come back.

The front door repair went well. Only fixed one side of the patio overhang, even though we discussed two sides of the patio. As an oversight on my part, I didn't notice the missing work when I inspected it at the completion of the work.
2 men showed up on time, were professional, and did a satisfactory job except for the hallway cabinet repair. My house is 50 years old and the cabinet doors are original. The doors wouldn't close all the way because I had removed them, painted them, and put them back up so they needed to be planared or shaved a bit on the edges where the 2 doors met to get them to close. They removed too much wood and I now have an uneven 1/4 inch gap from top to bottom. It doesn't look properly finished and will now have to get new doors custom fit to have it look right. Also, since I had no caulking in the color needed, I paid them to get some. I didn't have a problem paying for it, but they when they left they took the caulking with them.
Brandon did a site inspection and determined what needed to be done and how long it would take. Since I had many possible projects, we narrowed it down to the most important issues that could be finished in a day. He arrived on the second visit with a helper who worked on the shower while he repaired the concrete. They finished their work and cleaned up and we agreed that the work done met my expectations.
The old basksplash removal went fine. A lot of tiles had to be cut to accomodate small tile inserts and around outlets. The cuts were made outside. This tile installation and grouting was anticipated to take a few days, but, due to delays, our traveling out of town and his not answering phone calls or having other priorities, the job lasted several months. When asked about the job status Brandon became defensive, short, and even confrontational at times. It was not a comfortable feeling. The bill was nearly twice the price we expected. He defended it by insisting all the hours required to finish the job. When he departed, all the tile cuts were left in the front yard and the waste water from cleaning his tools was poured out in the street in front of our home. The tile dust and pieces of tile were everywhere and a large white powder stain was in the street exactly in front of our walkway. It took some time to clean up the mess in the kitchen, yard and street. I would never use this handyman again and I cannot recommend him to anyone.
The first time I used him, several months ago, he did supurb work. I had a long "to-do" list and they finished it. They were very efficient, friendly and did great work. I called him again a month ago for another project. He started out great on the first day. The second day, he was started more work. I gave him some money up front to purchase supplies. He started doing my work here and there between other jobs. He did not want to do the stucco portion of my work. He hired someone else to do it but said I needed to pay him. I did. The other company came over once and I never saw them again. Brandon did nothing about it. It was left unfinished. He said he would be back to finish things and I did not see him again. I recieved an email from him that said he would not be finishing my job. He said that I could keep his equipment in place of the payments I have given him. This was a ladder, a saw and some other small things. I have given him 800.00 and the project was never finished.

The tenant was happy with his work. I asked him for the materials/parts receipts for my taxes. He hesitated and said that he usually didn't give them to the clients. When I told him that I needed it for proof of my expenditutres for taxes, he said that he would bring them over the next day.
When he gave the receipts to me the next day, I noticed that they were not detailed with any descriptions, like "faucet sprayer", etc. They just had dollar amounts, which made me suspicious. I told him that the amounts didn't look right to me and he said that he usually adds a surcharge to the cost of the parts, so that he can make a profit. At this point, I just let him finish the job, but I no longer trusted him.
When he worked at my home, I complained to him on day 2 that the new weatherstripping on the door made it very hard for me to open the door. He looked at it and said that it was just going to be that way until it had time to "break in". A year later, and I still struggle with it.
I had a friend who told me to give her his name before he came to do the work, and afterwards, I just didn't feel right about doing it.
9222 Riverbend Ave. SW - Albuquerque NM 87121
6027 Kilmer Ave. NW - Albuquerque, NM 87120

We bought the 10 hours of work for $199.00 deal in January. What a mistake. We would not have pursued having Brandon do the work had we not paid upfront for services. I contacted him mid March to schedule a time to have the work done. From the very start he could not schedule the job because he needed to check with his employees to get their schedule. This was the first of many excuses ranging from numerous vehicle problems, to having to fire people and my favorite is that his phone fell in the toilet and was not able to call me. He was mostly unresponsive to my phone calls and emails and left it up to me to track him down.
After numerous phone call and email attempts stretching over about a month's time period to even get on his schedule I requested a refund. His response was that I could only get 1/2 back because he only gets 1/2 the money we paid to Angie's List for the coupon. I told him we could go directly to Angie's List to file a grievance, write a review, and still get reimbursed. He said that he gets many jobs off of this site and a negative review would tarnish his reputation. If I chose to write a negative review he would just keep the money and hung up on me. He refused to answer any calls coming from my number so I used a different phone and he answered right away. I explained that he does not have the right to keep our money, not perform the work we paid for and use blackmail as a form of controlling the situation. Once he realized I was not going to put up with anymore unprofessional, unethical behavior we scheduled a date for the work to be done.
I received a call the morning the work was to be done stating that his crew was one the way. They no showed and I lost a day of work because Brandon had no other crew available. We rescheduled for a weekend in case they no showed again. They were 15 minutes late on the rescheduled date. They did the work and were professional while at our home, however, it was not worth a 6 week hassle with them to get these simple jobs done.
Prompt to respond to my email requesting his service. Communication re arrival time on day of service. Upon arrival, got right to work after he asked questions to make sure he fully understood what I wanted done. Completed tasks quickly, neatly, and professionally. Easy conversation while he was working. Charge was very reasonable.

This job was part of a 5 hour credit from a BIG DEAL that will expire on 7/18. John did the work in 2 hours. I paid him his trip charge plus a tip. Now I have 3 hours credit. The babysitter/secretary/receptionist called me the next day to make an appointment before the deal expires. That is when things started to go wrong.........to be continued in next review.
I was desperate to get some maintenance work done on a rental property and ended up hiring Brandon because he was able to squeeze me in before the other guys I called. He flaked out on me initially but claimed he was mugged so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and proceeded to walked him through everything and felt he would be able to take care of it. He did make his appointment (was late) but called mid-day to let me know the 15 hour estimate would actually be 19 and wasn't able to finish because of some issues and parts that needed to be ordered. He didn't make his next two commitments to come back and finish the next day and the day after but did stay in touch and scheduled a return trip the next Friday to finish up. That morning I texted him to find out what time he would be out only to learn he was suddenly "out of town" for 2 weeks and the lady he left in charge had NO information about his appointments, the parts he ordered, and how to contact him. Fortunatly she was able to send out one of his helpers who did finish the work but unfortunatly the work was not to my satisfaction. Instead of replacing the screens in the existing frames, they ordered all new screens which I paid a 20% surcharge on (which he did warn me about in advance). They forgot one of the screens, one would not fit and needed to be adjusted, and the other two were twice as big as they needed to be all of which I had to take care of myself. My wife has done a better job of installing blinds which fell when we tried to open them and they forgot to replace one of the outlet covers. I have found another handyman that is almost half the price and much more reliable so will not be using them again.
