Brian helped us to sell our investment condo, and I was glad that I hired him. As we had only bought properties in the past, and not sold, Brian was very patient in educating us, and helping us get the answers to our questions in a timely manner. In working with Brian, I felt that I was working alongside an agent who was professional, understood the Pittsburgh market, and could advise us well to get the maximum selling price leading up to the closing. He was excellent in helping us to negotiate between various buyers. He gave honest and candid advice, and helped us to ultimately make the right decisions in selling our property. We made more money because of Brian. I would recommend Brian to anyone selling their investment property or primary residence.

Brian did an amazing job at marketing our home in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh. He was our agent when we purchased it 6 years ago, and we were thrilled to work with him again. Brian gave us excellent guidance as far as what work/projects to do on our home in order to be able to market it effectively. He was able to refer us to fast, reliable, and fairly inexpensive contractors because his contacts in the field are extensive and loyal. I would estimate that the projects he recommended to us enabled us to list our home for at least $10,000 more than we would have without them, if not $15,000, and we spent far less than that. Our home had a tricky layout that wasn't easily marketable and he was able to find us the perfect solution for it. Our home sold quickly and with multiple offers. Brian expertly navigated us through the negotiations. He did a particularly great job with negotiations over inspections - we ended up not having to make any repairs ourselves prior to our sale (which was a HUGE relief) and the price reduction we ended up on was more than fair. On a personal note, Brian is an incredibly funny and kind person who is a joy to spend time with. My only regret is that he wasn't able to be our agent on the purchase of the home we just bought to move into, because we missed out on getting to spend more time with him. However, he STILL has helped us with issues we have had with our new home, even though he wasn't our agent for the purchase! His loyalty and dedication to his clients just cannot be beat.

He was pretty good. I was in the market to buy an house, but I ended up not deciding to not buy anything. He was excellent. The consultation was free, the commission fees would have came out of that, so nothing for price. He was very professional. He found me multitude of places that I was interested in. I opted to not want to buy an house. I did not know if I was going to stay in Pittsburgh long term or not.

I wish I could give Brian A pluses across the board. He made buying my first home a fun and easy process.
Brian was recommended to me by a trusted friend, and we first spoke in January 2015. He is attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful; he knows Pittsburgh real estate in and out; and he was careful not to waste my time or his. I really appreciated his straightforward, frank attitude and his ability to fully explain all the new concepts that come with looking for a home. He was also very good at suggesting things that would make my search easier - some criteria that I could relax, new neighborhoods I could consider - but he never pressured me.
Due to the sparse market at the time, we had some trouble finding places to look, but Brian accompanied me to every contender (I think we ended up looking at around a dozen houses.) He was always careful to point out the pros and cons that a first-time homebuyer would miss. He was also great at pointing out things that looked like a big deal to me, but that were in reality very fixable. He helped me figure out exactly what I was looking for, and I learned so much about real estate and houses in the process.
When we found the house that is now my home, Brian was invaluable. Despite him being very ill at the time, we went through the entire offer over the phone (as I was traveling,) with Brian being careful to fully explain all my options. The sellers and I went back and forth a few times, with Brian offering his advice at each move - in the end, we settled on a price that was fair.
What I appreciated the most about Brian was that during the contentious part of buying a house - the offers and counter-offers, dealing with the results of the inspection - he was professional, honest, and helpful, and he also protected me from a lot of the frustration that home buying can sometimes involve. He guided me carefully through the inspection results, and represented my interests really well - he made sure that I was getting as much as possible out of the sellers, while still preserving the good will between us. I'm so grateful for his guidance during that time in particular.
Brian's recommendations for a mortgage broker, inspectors, and insurance were great; I'm incredibly happy with the experience I had with each person. I did shop around a little, but the people he recommended gave me the best rates and prices, and offered the same high quality of service that Brian does. (Additionally, he has recommendations for every sort of vendor and service I might need going forward.)
I really can't say enough good things about Brian. I kept waiting for the process of buying a house to be hard, or complicated, or frustrating - I'd heard so many horror stories. But it was never anything less than fun and exciting, and I know that that's due to Brian. I love my house and my neighborhood; it's really perfect for me, and I'm so glad that I get to live where I do.
Closing on my house in July was bittersweet - I have a home I love, but I no longer get to look at houses with Brian! He was good company, on top of being a fantastic realtor, and while I hope to stay in my house for a long time, I know I'll use him again if I ever move.
As first time home buyers, we came to Brian on good recommendation from a close friend with the expressed desire to find a place to call our own.
At our first meeting with Brian we were up front: we were (fairly) clueless! Wasting no time, Brian gave us a home buying 101 course that went over the process he takes with clients, what would be expected of us, things to consider when shopping around for financing, and did a basic Q/A session about what kind of home we think we'd be looking for. Our homework was to come up with a list of musts, wants, and maybe so's. Brian helped us think about things we might not have considered left to our own devices. Specific questions about location requirements, parking, heating/cooling, storage space. He helped us narrow down our neighborhoods and suggested places we didn't even know were so up and coming. After our next session, after many hearty laughs, and several more direct answers to our (what we thought were) naive questions, my partner and I happily agreed that we were 100% committed to using Brian as our agent, and boy are we glad we did.
Once we had a list of housing requirements, we got to searching. We are techy people, and we communicated extensively with Brian not just in person, but also via text and email - he always made himself available to chat with us or drop us a note during business hours, in his free time, in the evenings, and even between clients (Brian has a wonderful no-distraction policy while working directly with a client, an amenity we greatly appreciated during our 1:1 time with him). He asked us what kind of frequency we'd like to receive notifications for new homes that met our general criteria, and followed up with us on a weekly basis to ensure our needs were being met. As our needs for a home evolved and changed over time (he learned fast that because of our naiveté , this happened a lot lol), Brian quickly pivoted our search criteria and widened or narrowed our net, as needed. He made us feel confident that learning as you go was part of the process, and we felt great once we got a feel for the options in the city. We undershot and overshot our expectations for a new home, and Brian really helped us find the 'sweet spot'
When we were interested in a home Brian had a pretty standard formula for showing. This consistency allowed us to make comparisons between homes very easily, and he always provided us with summary materials of each of the properties for our records. He'd walk us through each home step by step, pointing out positives and negatives to every room, feature, level, appliance, material, location, and layout. Brian also always evaluated the structure of the property, and taught us ways that contractors hide shoddy workmanship or try to get people to overlook deficiencies in construction, electrical systems, foundations, and landscaping. During these visits he stressed that he was merely there to provided data and answer questions, all of the decisions were ours to make. His extensive knowledge of building code, general contracting, future home improvements, landscaping, and home value appreciation helped us get a vision for what our home would look like once it came into focus.
I want to make it very clear, and I can't stress this enough, that Brian was not out to get us into 'any' home, he was out to get us into the perfect home that met our needs and our budget. We never, and I mean, never, felt pressured or unsure or worried that Brian was just out to make a sale. I can't tell you how much that made us feel relaxed and happy to search with him.
When we found a place we were interested in, at the peak of the busy housing season, Brian really shined (as if he wasn't shining already!) during the home inspection and closing process. Brian was our liaison to the seller, the home inspectors, gave us checklists and prep for meeting with our mortgage bankers, negotiated our price and conditions for our buyers contract, followed up with the contractors performing the necessary fixes, and got us into our new place ahead of schedule and within the perfect timeframe to allow our previous lease to end and our new mortgage to begin. With so many decisions to make, so much paperwork to fill out, and so much money at stake for us, Brian was professional, responsive, and fun every step of the way.
Above all the service Brian provided, he is just an all-around great person to spend time with. He's funny, intelligent, professional, punctual, and sacrifices so much of his own time for the satisfaction of his clients. He's an active member of his community, pursues his hobbies, all while making time for his family. Brian has made lifelong customers out of us (for our next great home adventure some day!) and I would recommend him with the highest regards to anyone I know or love.

I chose Brian (after getting a recommendation from a friend) to serve as my agent during the process of searching for and purchasing a new home for my fiancé and I during the spring of 2014 and could not have been more pleased.
Brian is highly knowledgeable of the real estate market in Pittsburgh and the surrounding vicinities. We were interested in Pittsburgh's east end neighborhoods and were highly impressed by his knowledge of all of the ins and outs of the competitive and fast-moving housing market in this area.
Additionally, Brian is one of the most professional individuals I've had the pleasure of dealing with in any field. He always treated us with courtesy and respect, was punctual with all meetings and phone calls, and never 'talked down' to us in any way.
Of course, knowledge and professionalism should be expected from a real estate agent. But I'll now go into a few more specifics about Brian that set him apart.
First, we never felt as if Brian was pushing us into a home. If something popped up that he felt would work he would let us know but we never sensed that Brian was just trying to get us to buy a home quickly so he could grab a commission and move on to the next client. Also. Brian was not afraid to tell us that a house probably was not right for us if he believed we were getting impatient and 'barking up the wrong tree' on a property. Don't get me wrong - he would certainly show us any house we were interested in - but in hindsight his views were consistently spot-on and he probably saved us a good deal of time and aggravation.
Second, Brian was always available at a moment's notice and would work to get us into a house as quickly as possible. The house we ultimately purchased had a steep price drop on a Wednesday. Once phone call to Brian that afternoon and we had a walk-through booked for Saturday (I'm sure he could have gotten us in even sooner but our schedules wouldn't allow it). He was equally prompt with emails and texts.
Finally, Brian really shined during the negotiations process. There was an open house on the property the day after we viewed it (Sunday). We were anxious but Brian had us be patient and wait until Monday to make the offer. Brian wan an excellent advisor both with the initial offer and during the countering steps. He had us stay firm throughout and I'm certain that without him we would have paid more for the home and the entire process would have proceeded less smoothly.
In summary, if you're looking to buy or sell your home, I'm very confident that you would be satisfied with Brian Sergi-Curfman as your agent. I'll certainly call on him again should the need arise.

Brian was prompt, thorough, and professional during all of our interactions. When I was asking questions as a potential buyer for a property he was representing, he was quick and thorough in his responses and found answers to all my questions.
When I was considering hiring Brian as my buyer's agent, he was very responsive to all my inquiries, giving honest answers, even if they weren't quite what I wanted to hear. Instead of just telling a potential client whatever it took to get the contract (and let them deal with the fallout later), he frankly addressed potential issues. He helped brainstorm ideas for how to close a sale remotely, as well as fully explained his policies regarding properties listed as For Sale By Owner, as well as percentages and fees that could possibly enter the buying process. While I ultimately chose a different agent (due to circumstances completely beyond Brian's control), I would fully recommend his services to anyone looking to buy or sell property in the Pittsburgh area.
We had a somewhat unusual experience in that we only looked at two homes, both of which I found perusing online before we really had any time to sit down and discuss our wants/needs with Brian. That being said, we had a very strange experience with our seller and sellers agent (rude, stubborn, etc) which Brian navigated us through gracefully. He is very experienced and can provide good advice while still allowing you to weigh what is important to YOU. He was very responsive, took us to our first showing with very little notice on a weekend, and was a lot of fun to hang out with, frankly. We will be using him to sell our old house when the time comes.
Brian helped from start to finish with buying a new home. He helped me understand options in the area I was considering and to quickly narrow down the field to homes that matched my interests. He answered all my questions along the way, simply and directly. He was always responsive and professional. He always made sure I knew what was next and what I'd need to do to prepare. I have nothing at all to complain about. He helped me get into a home that I love and has offered support along the way (e.g., getting started with estimates or even figuring out what kind of contractor to look for to address a particular kind of work). I will definitley work with Brian again (selling my old home is next) and would happily recommend him to my friends.
Brian is the consummate professional. Brian was accessible, always did what he said he would do, and truly made me feel like I was his number one priority. This was especially impressive because I knew that he was always juggling marketing new listings, multiple closings, and lots of hand holding for clients just like me! I recommend Brian whether you are listing, looking for a new home, or both!

For the last 7 years my husband and I have had the privilege of living in a small, but beautiful home in Forest Hills. While this house was not the most lavish home in the neighborhood it was cute and provided my family with many wonderful memories. When life happened and my husband and I made the decision to sell our house, Brian was the agent that we settled upon, mostly due to the outstanding reviews we read about him. Having worked with him over the last 6 months to sell our home, I can honestly say that a review cannot do justice to how amazing Brian is. My husband and I were initially worried about selling our house, because of the experiences that we had during the process of buying this property. The house is not a terribly expensive house and we were worried that our agent might not give it much attention. This was not the case with Brian. Brian worked tirelessly to help us sell our home. He proactively anticipated issues that might arise, walked us through the entire selling process, responded to questions almost immediately, and was always available to discuss any issues we had. He was the most knowledgeable person that I have ever met in regard to selling a house in Pennsylvania and we always felt that we were people not a paycheck to him. Brian made the entire process of selling our home actually enjoyable. We recommend him to all of our friends and now we want to recommend him to everyone else.
Brian was outstanding in every aspect. My wife and I highly recommend him. He was responsive, honest, kind, detail-oriented, candid, thoughtful, engaging, a team player, efficient, well connected and understood the local market. Brian sold our home for 98.5% of our asking price in about 2.5 weeks. He has the courage to deviate from traditional selling techniques and is an excellent negotiator. By the end of the process, my wife and I feel like we gained a friend.

When my husband and I first met with Brian we weren?t even sure that buying a house was the right choice for us. We had recently moved to Pittsburgh from out of state and knew virtually nothing about the area or the real estate market. Knowing this, Brian still took two hours to meet with us and in this time he answered a myriad of questions and really educated us on the real estate market in Pittsburgh, what neighborhoods might fit our needs, and an overview of the whole home buying process since we were also first time home buyers. Brian gave us straightforward, factual information and never once did we feel as though he was trying to persuade us to buy a house. After this meeting we determined that buying a home was the right decision for us and after relaying this to Brian he immediately started looking for listings to send us. He listened to what features were important to us and welcomed any feedback we had on the listings he was sending. Since Brian had a good sense of what we were looking for, it didn?t take long for us to find the right home. Brian walked us through every step of the buying process and had many great resources for a home loan, inspections, etc. All of the people that Brian recommended were very honest and professional. From the time we first met with Brian to the time we closed on our home was only about 8 weeks. The process was a bit accelerated, but Brian was on top of everything from the get go and we never felt that we were in danger of missing a deadline. There were a few bumps in the road due to some extenuating circumstances on the sellers? side and on our end and Brian handled these issues very efficiently and professionally. If you want an agent who knows what he?s doing, knows the area and the market, and will be honest and straightforward with you then you should contact Brian.
First and foremost, we sold the house for $25,000 over a pretty aggressive asking price, so obviously our transaction went very, very well. High-quality, eye-catching renovations (if I do say so myself) and a dearth of other area listings in our general price range explain some of our success, but Brian gets all the credit for generating the bidding war that allowed to sell the house at such a price so quickly. While we were finishing renovations to get the house to salable condition (we hadn't intended to move, and had started a lot of major projects) Brian talked it up amongst realtors, so when the inevitable contractors' delays were finally over and the house was suitable for viewing, a crowd of househunters were all but drooling on the doorstep. We got multiple asking-or-better offers within two days, allowing Brian to tell all the buyers' agents something along the lines of "Bring me your best offer by 6pm -- no second chances." Instead of having to wonder if we should keep the house on the market for a week to see who turned up, we immediately had in hand an offer only lunatics would've rejected. Plus, the buyers knew full well that if they asked for too much after inspections (nothing was really wrong, but *everybody* uses inspections to try to dicker down price) we could just walk away and move on to the next set of eager buyers. Brian was also a valuable source of advice about where to concentrate our efforts when getting the house to a saleable state; in addition to a career's worth of experience of what people do and don't notice, he has a lot of data on hand about what certain improvements are statistically worth. Some of the data are more than a little counterintuitive, so I credit Brian with saving us time and trouble taking care of "shortcomings" that, it turns out, only bother me. He does have a lot of plates spinning at any given moment, which means he can be more brisk and businesslike than some of the "hobbyist" realtors who have two listings and nowhere they need to be. Our transaction got all the attention it required, though, and he clearly puts in long hours when necessary to keep up. It wasn't unusual to get an email from Brian at 8:30pm, and he (unlike the buyers' agent, their mortgage issuers, the closing company...) never missed a deadline. And when I called to say that the various contractors were *finally* gone, he had his photographer over right away so the listing could go live without delay. We were moved by a relocation company that covered realtors' commissions, so my "price" rating reflects less Brian's rates (I don't actually know how he compares with what others charge) than his willingness to jump through the various hoops necessary to work with an extra set of constraints. These hoops are many and various, so working with a realtor who'd done it before certainly helped.
Brian was not only supremely knowledgeable in getting us in the right place, he was
personable but shrewd, understanding of our wants as well as conscious of our needs,
(even though we were not always aware of what we needed ourselves.)
We are new to the Pittsburgh area, and so were not aware of many of the tax customs
and local details that needed to come into consideration before buying a home here. He
was able to steer us in the right direction and expose the caveats that come with each
general locality. His encyclopedic knowledge of buying trends and tax rates in various
neighborhoods saved us from falling in love with a couple of houses that otherwise we
might have gone for and ultimately would have been disappointed with.
We got the right house quickly and seamlessly. He made the process smooth, efficient,
and (as far as buying can be) stress free.
If you are looking for a realtor who is professional, efficient, honest and real, go with
Brian. Even if his list of clientele is temporarily maxed out, he is worth the wait.
Brian offers the most competent and comprehensive realty services imaginable. The very first and most important aspect of finding a good realtor is someone that you can trust. Brian's reputation for having the utmost integrity is well earned. He cares about ensuring you make the best decisions. He acts as a guide and taught me more than I ever wanted to know about how real estate transactions really work. He worked tirelessly to both find us the perfect house and more so in getting our former house sold. Our former house was not an easy sell but he managed to do so in a rather short time period for the neighborhood. The materials he created for the house, the press he created around it, and the open houses all contributed to getting the house sold. He doesn't do anything mediocre. He impresses with every element of the process from start to finish. The transactions were smooth because of his expertise. He really does know a lot about everything related to real estate. He made a very good experience for us out of what normally would have been extremely stressful and bothersome. I can't speak enough about how much we appreciate his services and his expertise.
Brian was amazing through the entire process. We would not own our wonderful home without his help. We were in a difficult position because we were purchasing our first house from out of state. Brian got to know us, learned our likes and dislikes, and what was important in our first home. He was able to determine these things by talking with us, even when we probably didn't really know ourselves! He found houses that fit our criteria and arranged showings that fit our schedule when we came in from out of town. He was completely accommodating and available to us at all times for any questions that we had, and we had a lot of questions. We knew nothing about purchasing a home, and Brian patiently explained everything. He helped us arrange all of the inspections and recommended contractors and mortgage lenders. He helped us with every step of the process and made it painless. We had heard nothing but horror stories about buying your first home, but with Brian's help, we had no trouble at all. We will definitely use his service again to sell or purchase a home in the future and would recommend his services to anyone.

Brian is the best real estate agent in the city because he is so much more than a real estate agent. He has an absolute knack for truly getting to know your tastes, he took a lot of time with me and my wife to learn about what we liked and searched tirelessly to find homes for us to peruse. Also, he really knows the city and homes in general, on an entirely different level than just face value. Once we selected a house, our first by the way, he connected us with the best movers, inspectors, etc. He treated our needs as his needs, and we had a fantastic experience all around. Every single recommendation he has made for us turned out to be flawless, which is why we are leaving this recommendation for him.
Although this was our first home purchase, Brian was not our first agent, he's certainly a needle in a haystack, if you're looking within the City of Pittsburgh for a home, then look no further than Brian Sergi-Curfman!

Fantastic! Brian is a great communicator and a good listener who found us the PERFECT home the first time out. He helped us get it in a bidding war. He then walked us through the process for the next couple of months to closing. He was always professional, but never unfriendly. He's a straight-shooter who will tell it like it is, but he respects his client's opinions and unique needs/wants. I can't say enough good about our experience with him.

Brian was an extremely helpful seller's agent. He helped arrange for a fantastic photo-shoot and a beautiful brochure. He facilitated many showings of our house and in the end it was he who directly found our buyer. He was always prompt and professional, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to buy or sell a house. The amount spent, as indicated above, was a percentage of the selling price of our house. It was worth every penny. He goes above and beyond to make the whole process as smooth as possible.
