I initially purchased an offer through Angie's List for $139 for 4 hours of lawn or landscape work. I was very surprised. They put in small 1lb shrubs, not 10lbs from what I thought, for $4000. I told the company this isn't what I was thinking. I was thinking the size was going to be bigger. They were adamant about getting paid but I then realized that this company doesn't have a bank account under their name, I had to write the check to the individual and not the company which seems suspicious to me. Now, 4 of the shrubs that were put in are dead and I've called the company about this but was hung up on. I feel I was taken advantage of and they ripped me off. I don't think Angie's List rated this company completely and they should be considered to be taken off the list. I was surprised they were sent to my house through an offer they set up with Angie's List.

Luis came out to look at the project and was very good about giving ideas and suggestions. The came out on the day we agreed on to do the work. We paid them in full even though the whole project wasn't completed yet. We had requested a fountain also. They had to come back to install the fountain and add a product under the grass to control the weeds. It took several tries for them to come out but they finally did. The next day, the fountain stopped working so I contacted them and requested a different product. He informed me that the box had been trashed and he can't exchange the fountain. I asked him to come back and take care of the weeds since they are now taking over the yard. He scheduled us over five times and never showed up. I texted him several times asking him to come back and complete the work, never heard back!!! Now most of the flowers that they planted have died. So we are left with a backyard full of weeds, dead plants and a non working fountain. What a waste of money!

Terrible. Eric Ruiz or Eric Garcia or Robert Garcia or Luis San Martin or whatever name he chooses to go by did an awful job. His crew tried to lay new sod on the old sod and only removed the old lawn after I protested. He had to buy a rototiller (what landscaper does not have rototiller?) His crew began to lay the brick border unevenly and I had to correct. Eric did not bring the agreed upon materials and left his crew unsupervised for hours at a time as he went to get sod or bricks. I had to tell his crew what to do and it seemed like they did not know what to do. He asked for payment for materials up front, which I refused several times. When most of the job was done, he took a load to the landfill and promised to come back and take the rest of the trash and finish details the next day. He begged for the payment up front and I agreed. However, the next day he did not show. He claimed to be in a "car accident". He strung me along on cleaning up the mess he left for a moth, always claiming he could not come because of the rain. That rain washed away the top layer of soil they threw over the side flower bed. Seems they did not remove the 12 inches of clay I asked them to and they agreed upon. Finally, after a month I asked him to at least take the pile of trash they left on my front driveway and finish details of the first job. After a long conversation, in which he asked how much I would pay up front for additional work, I told him he would have to finish the first job to get additional work. He refused to finish the first job. I made the mistake of paying him when the job was not 100% finished. He will say he is an honest guy, but do not trust this person. Do not give his landscaping "business" any money for any job. You will be harassed for money and left with a job half-done. I tried to upload pictures but the website would not upload them. His phone number is 713-382-6189 or 713-678-0025 and his email is brightstarinhouston@gmail.com. He is a heavyset Hispanic male (Honduran I believe) and he drives a grey truck. Stay far away from this con artist.

They arrived on time and consulted with me about the work I wanted done. They proceeded to do the work and consulted with me during the work to determine if they were doing what I wanted. They did a great job and were fastidious in their clean-up. They were polite and friendly. Worth every dime. <br>

Fantastic. Brightstar listened to what I wanted done and did a better job than I had envisioned. I would definitely recommend them. I will be calling them again once I'm ready to start a remodel project on my backyard.

Fantastic! I started a DIY patio paving project, but realized it was harder than it looked and we were doing it completely wrong from the start. The guys came out, gave an estimate and began fixing the mess I had started and surpassed what I had planned on it looking. Great job, thank you so much. :-)

Huge mistake. We were contacted promptly when we purchased the service and the man my husband spoke with was very professional. They scheduled the service and determined we would obtain 2 men for 5 hours rather than 1 man for 10 hours. The workers arrived on time maybe a few minutes early. However as I attempted to explain what I wanted done, (pull out vegetation with roots), The expressed they did not speak English and so did not understand. I pulled some grass and showed the roots. They still stood there and then one of the men called his wife on the phone and handed me the phone. She spoke English and asked what I was wanting done. I told her but by now a half hour was taken up. I feel someone from the company should have called and spoken with me about what I wanted prior to the work assignment if they knew they were sending individuals who did not speak English. I told the lady I wanted the grass, weeds pulled out. And then about the mesh and the mulch., They said OK and I went inside. I came out about 45 minutes later to offer some water and one man was on his phone and the other was chopping the weeds and grass at ground level with a large machete. I got his attention and told/ showed him once again that I wanted them pulled and not cut. He said OK. The man who appeared to be running the job pointed to the mulch and told me " more" I had calculated it best I could using the formula for area but i thought maybe I was off on the depth. And he said I needed 4 more rolls of mesh and at least 10 more bags of mulch. I dont think there is more than 400sq/ft total but I again thought he knew better than I and I could not question due to the language barrier. I left and got the supplies requested. When I returned the job boss was gone. The other man was busy "cutting the grass and weeds with his machete. About six by four feet had been cut. I went inside frustrated. The job boss returned 35-40 minutes with water and ice. Again, I feel this is something which should have been addressed prior to the job. I went back inside and returned a bit later to ask what they would like for lunch. They just stood there so I called my secretary at work and asked her to translate. She did and I went and provided them with Subway sandwiches and chips. They went back to work then about an hour later I went out to check on things and the job boss called his wife and handed me the phone. She translated to me that they could not finish the job in the time allotted. She proceeded to tell me that they could stay and work but it would cost me $80 an hour to finish the job. They had not made a dent in the job so I was not eager to have them stay. I would have hired workers in a heartbeat had they not taken advantage of us. My husband (who is disable) wanted them gone. He was very upset with them and not happy with me spending that amount of money without knowing what I was getting. Late that afternoon the workers returned with the English speaking wife and asked me to call their boss because the boss would not pay them as he thought they had been paid for the extra hours by me. Even though they did not do even 45 minutes worth of work (in my opinion, based on what I can do) but I did not want these men to lose their days wages. My husband called to let the boss know we did not give them any money and that they didn't even do the job we purchased for $369. Needless to say within three days all the weeds and grass grew back and I have spent the remainder of the break pulling weeds. The reason I spent that much in the first place was so I could spend time with my Grandkids. I also still have mesh left over from the first roll. With four unopened rolls sitting in garage. I feel this vendor misrepresented what we were purchasing for $369. He did offer my husband some more time but my husband was over having these men at our home. Not only would I not recommend this vendor but I am embarrassed to even say I bought this service.

This was for $139 for 2 men for 2 hours of yard work. I have severe osteoarthritis which prevents me from working in the yard. Robert's men came and trimmed bushes, pulled weeds, and got rid of the poison ivy in the back flower beds. I have used them at our old house in Katy, and will continue to use them at our new house. Thank you for the great job, Robert.

Fair; I had a hard time communicating with them; would leave voice mails without call back; On the day of appointment, no show; he stated he had me down for another day. On day of work, he mulched 90% of what was to be done; he purchased plants, and placed them appropriately, but the plants were not hardy and began to die. We had agreed multiple times that he would be doing ongoing, every 2 week, mowing etc. We set up an appointment, but he did not show up; I called and left vm but he never responded

Robert and his team arrived on time and completed the job as scheduled. Worked extremely hard and efficiently even in 100 degree temperatures. Robert easily adapted to additonal requests/changes. We are pleased with the result. We even asked for suggestions and quotes for future jobs.

On some of the hottest days of the summer, I could not believe their energy and enthusiasm. Chris arrived on time with his team and explained in detail the estimate, which remained accurate. He checked with me frequently to see if I was happy with the progress. I have never seen workers work so fast without cutting corners. In three days my house went from the ugliest on the block to one of the nicest.

This group of guys works really well together. Expanded the patio with blocks and filled two inch area between blocks with black stone. Also added flower bed on one side of house and put retaining wall around existing plantings. Work took about 1-1/2 days. Showed up on time.

Initially, I was pleased with the work. Crew was on time, cleaned up as they said they would. However, within about 2-3 weeks, weeds began to grow in the new covered area where the new landscape cloth had been placed. I began calling the business about coming out to fix it. It took a few phone calls but the owner finally agreed to come on September 6 to fix it. He did not show up that day. I have left multiple messages for him since then and he will not return my calls. So, I have spent an extra $650 and have the same mess I started with. This is totally unacceptable!
