Your pump is 15 years old plus and pretty much anything that sits in the sun with a clear top and a housing made of high-impact thermoplastic or fiberglass-reinforced plastic composites will warp over time and there is no indicator of when this will happen. We also do not just replace them prior to anything being wrong with them.  In regards to leaving your pump lid off or unseated... the process of servicing a pool is this: empty the pump basket, take a photo of the empty pump basket, turn the pump back on and bleed out the air, go to the pool brush, skim and catch the debris in the pool, check and balance the water chemically and once that is done go back to the pump and turn it off, this ensures the pump was in working order as we had ran it for at least 10-12 minutes prior to turning it off. You also mentioned about how we placed our equipment in your fake grass and that left white crystals everywhere,  We let you know that more then likely you have a very small leak from his water feature and because the water here is hard it will turn up white over time. There is NO chemical that we carry that would turn your fake grass white.... Once again I appreciate your review and we wish you the best of luck moving forward."
