I contacted David about the work I needed done - the brick stairs at my front entry way were sinking and the mortar between the bricks had deteriorated over time and was coming out making the bricks loose.? I asked David for a quote to remove the stairs and relay the brick to match the house.?? David came out initially in March (within 2 days of my first call) and quoted the work at $2900.? I was in the middle of a refinance of my mortgage and thought I'd be ready to start the project within 2-3 weeks which was about the work lag time David gave me.? Unfortunately it was about 5 weeks before I was ready to start the project and David was well into his summer list of projects by then?so once I told him I was ready it was more like 4 weeks before I could get on his calendar...this was expected and discussed up front so was not a problem.? Since my home was built in the 60's David had to find additional bricks to match what I already had since not all my existing bricks would be able to be salvaged.? The work was started on Wednesday so the guys dropped off a load of bricks on Tuesday afternoon and before 7:30 on Wed. morning they were fully involved in the gentle demolition of the old staircase so as not to damage the bricks.? They were able to salvage better than 50% of the bricks, the rest were cracked and damaged over time and wear and were not worthy of reuse.? Once the demolition was complete it was discovered that there was no foundation beneath the original staircase so a concrete slab was poured and left to set.? Over the next 3 days the stairs were rebuilt and look almost exactly as originally built.? What a fantastic job they did!? The additional bricks they brought matched and looked like they belonged to the original work.? When the work was done, I paid exactly what they told me the job would cost - $2,900.? These are old school masons - real artists and I would recommend them for any brick, block, hardscape work that you have.? David is a great guy and it was a pleasure to work with him.

David was awesome in helping to find several leaks and problem solve it. I am so grateful for their persistence, positive attitude, high level of skill, knowledge and honesty. They take pride in their work and really want to do what is best for their client. It looks beautiful and there are no more leaks! I would highly recommend them, as I will definitely call them in the future for my masonry needs!!

From start to finish, the job went excellent in all areas and met all of our expectations. The work actually commenced prior to the planned start date and was completed on the date promised. No corners were cut in meeting the completion date. David Cadwallader of British Masonry and his 3 employees performed all work in an expert and professional manner. Their cleanup after completion was very thorough, with all construction debris being properly removed and all furniture and potted plants being returned to their place on the terrace . I had purchased mulch to place in the flower beds in front of the terrace when the work was completed. However, upon completion one of David's employees retrieved the twelve bags of mulch from our garage and spread them in the beds without us requesting or even mentioning it to the worker. It is with pleasure that I recommend British Masonry to anyone needing brick work and we will certainly use British Masonry for any future masonry work at our home.

We contacted British Masonry after we started refinishing our fireplace and quickly realized it was definitely a job for professionals. Donnie and Brian came out on a Sunday and spent 9 hours finishing the job. They are extremely talented, diligent and professional. Their work was meticulous especially considering that every stone had to be individually cut. We would definitely recommend them to anyone needing masonry work and we will definitely be using them again for future projects.

These guys are fantastic. David, the master of masonry, gave very fair quotes for the work they did and they clean up after themselves. The workmanship is fantastic. I wish you could see before and after pics. You would be amazed. I would use these guys again in a heartbeat and I'd highly recommend them for any masonry jobs.

I first asked about a herringbone pattern but was told it wouldn't be right for the curve. One of the fellows came up with an alternate pattern with insets. He suggested i use mosaic to cover the tops of the smaller cut brick. Fantastic idea! His partner also offered very helpful advise: I thought I could get away with a single row of mosaic but he convinced me to do three in each row. There were
seventeen rows of mosaic topped brick insets. I couldn't have had better advice from very professional and artistic craftsmen. Well done Donny and Brian.

David and his British Masonry crew did a super job. David was exceptionally prompt with the estimate, was very knowledgeable regarding masonry and easily addressed my concerns regarding the chimney problems. The work was done on schedule, he and the crew were punctual, friendly and the job site was kept tidy.
They showed up when they said they would which is a great start. David was patient and explained what needed to be done and why, which we were in complete agreement with. He quoted what we felt was a very fair price for a lot of work. His crew showed up early Monday as promised and they did a great job. They also were very patient talking to us at various points throughout the week. They were very professional and it was important to them that we were satisfied. Great guys and quality work at a fair price. You can't ask for more than that!
Very well. The project was completed by Christmas eve. It is home to a garden theme statue and adds a lot of drama to the yard.
There are six layers of brick with the concrete tiles as a border. Flawless. My regret is that this is the last project as i have no more room in my yard.

I should preface my review by stating for the record that it is INCREDIBLY hard to find a quality masonry company, and when you do they are booked up so far in advance that you're almost always out of luck. British Masonry are just as busy as all the other companies, so it took a few weeks for their schedule to open up. That being said, once they were able to make it out, they were polite, professional and did superb work.
I designed a new section of brick for the front of my house and David came out to give me an estimate and review my plans. He made meaningful suggestions to the design and then told me what kind of prep work would need to be done to the area. After we prepped the project space, David and Donny came out and in about 2-3 hours had completely finished the job.
They cleaned up after themselves and the brick work is stunning. I highly recommend British Masonry to anyone looking for craftsman-level masonry.
Very courteous but professional and amp; direct. All work performed well and amp; exceeded what we required them to do for
a very good price. Maybe a weeks delay in getting the right equipment freed up from other jobs, but still fast
enough to more than meet our needs.
These guys are top notch. We witnessed their work over on Edgewood Drive at an older home similiar to ours and decided to have them come give us an estimate for repointing our home. David was courteous and very professional. Repointing is a messy job and these guys made sure they cleaned the surrounding area each and everyday. Don't get me wrong, there was still masonry dust, but it would have been nearly impossible to clean every bit of dust on a daily basis. But they didn't leave their gear, water hoses, fallen mortar, etc. laying out day to day, they always washed everything down each day after working and put up the hoses, etc. Only the scaffolding stayed behind from day to day which only made sense. Repointing is a very tedious job, so don't be surprised by the price if you need it done. We started with just two sides of the house. In a few months will hire them to come back and do the remainder of the house.
I highly recommend David and his team at British Masonry!

I contacted David at British Masonry and sent him photos of some of the brick on our house. Apparently there had been settling which created cracks in the mortar. David sent Donnie over to make the repairs. He also inspected the entire outside of the house to make sure there were no other issues. We're very pleased with the work that was done.

When I contacted David, he called me right back and came to visit the site the next morning. He placed a brace to prevent further collapse. He then put me in touch with a framer (Gerry) who came out and repaired the frame damage. Gerry and Walt did a super job on the framing for at a cost of $600. He was there when he said he would be, brought the lumber needed, and put everything back the way it should be. David and Ray returned the next day and rebuilt the wall from the ground to about 4 feet high. This appears to me to be more difficult that just laying brick. He cleaned up this mess and everything turned out great. Everything is cured and strong now. Thank goodness he jumped on this right away as the damage could have gotten much worse if the rest of that wall collapsed. I thought the charges were very reasonable for the time and effort involved. I would definitely use British Masonry for any other masonry services I need.
The steps are beautiful and are a great addition to our home. They did pretty good quality work, and the steps will last forever. Overall I'm happy with the work performed for the price I paid.
The only problem was it was difficult to get them out to the house to get a quote. It took 4-5 calls before he made it out. But when he came out we came to an agreement on a good price, and they were available the next day and started work.
To their credit, they were the only masonry company out of 5 that I called that even called me back.
