Had his company do a routine maintenance check of my A/C unit a couple years ago. The service man convinced me to purchase a small capacitor on the blower motor that he said was bad. He replaced the part in less than 5-minutes. Cost was $150. Check the internet afterwards and the part cost was less than $10. Last year a different service person during a routine check-up tried to sell me a replacement motor on the outside compressor unit at a cost of several hundred dollars. Told me it was ready to break down. Did not have motor replaced. Motor still running just fine more than a year later. Be extra caucus when dealing with this company that a $29 special routine maintenance check could end up costing you hundred dollars unnecessarily.

Bruno is a great service! They have expanded their products to include a gigantic laundry list of products/services. I mention this because, though they are expert at what they do, they also have their techs trained in some serious upselling. This limits some of the core work they used to do, like just fix my A/C. And I don't want new windows! Yep, Bruno will fix my A/C and then install new windows. Great. Now, about my A/C... they have fixed my same float issue twice this year since March. The second tech found that the float fell over??? into the overflow and suggested I change the float system and put in some other techy float/bactroban/infrared/laser guided something-or-other. Roger that. I would probably never get the Robot float system... and here's the kicker: Bruno installed my new A/C unit last year!!! This year, they've been here twice to fix their own design and installation and I have to pay for it! Or, I can spend a grand on Floaty the Robot to fix their dumb design. Cancel the windows please.

This is a well-informed review of Bruno air based on my relationship with them since April of 2015 and 25 services visits over the last three years. Naturally I can be thorough because I have met most of the incompetent technicians. They have come to my house once about every seven weeks over the last three years. I wanted a higher efficiency air conditioner in a home that was only 10 hears old. I wanted to support a local business so I chose Bruno Air. I was sold a $10,000 unit that stopped working in less than 24 hours. It was not a problem with the unit but a problem with the installation. The attic unit was not elevated- it was not placed high enough for the water to drain. After several visits (twice in one weekend) I was told that the reason why the unit would not drain was because the filter was dirty- sold me a $19 filter for $100. Still not draining. They told me that the problem was my “old pipes”- they were clogged and the water would not drain. Sold me a $600 pump that was on amazon for $59. Still would not drain- because the unit as not elevated, no water was draining even into the pump. After several more visits, they decided to cut a hole in my attic floor to create a false floor to lower the pump into so that the water would drain from the AC into the pump. Had they raised the unit up off the floor during the initial installation- there would not have been a gravity draining problem- not even into the pump. We are now just two months into a new unit and 12 visits with an additional $700 plus loss of income from having to take time off from work. The unit worked fine for three months then stopped working again. After several visits, it was determined that the evaporator coils were bad. Seven months into a bran new unit- the evaporator coils go- hmmm. This cost me another $420 for the coils and $260 to replace the freon that leaked out from the coils plus two days off from work. One year later, I noticed water stains on my ceiling under the attic unit. We are now 18 visits in one year. I called a roofing company thinking it was a leak in my roof. The roofer went into the attic and told me that the pump for the air conditioner was leaking- the hose from the unit into the pump was not connected properly. He simply connected the hose to the pump. In November of 2016, the unit stopped working again. This time the repairs took three days- no air and over thanksgiving. It required a third set of evaporator coils with another charge of over $600. I refused to pay the invoice and told the technician- third one in three days because he had to undo what the first two technicians did- to have Louis Bruno call me and I will hash it out with him. I was not going to pay for a third set of evaporator coils on a brand-new unit in six months. Well Louis never did call and I guess the bill was taken care of because I never heard about it again. Well- in June of 2017- the unit stopped working and a fourth set of evaporator coils was required- I again refused to pay. Four sets of evaporator coils on a brand new unit in two years stinks of technician incompetence not of faulty evaporator coils! Then in July of 2018- I returned home from a business strip to find a flood on my second floor- the second-floor ceiling light ruined and the ceiling with mold growing. The pump was not working and was pumping copious amounts of condensation water all over my upstairs. A technician came out and replaced the pump- but did not attach the hose correctly- again! After a week it started leaking again- I tuned off the unit and called Gulf Shore heating and cooling who came out to the house and attached metal clams to the hose from the unit to the pump. I have taken pitchers of the damage and have contacted the BBB with complaints about this company. I have forwarded the picture to Mark Williams – Bruno marketing- with a detailed email explaining the issue. After four more emails and numerous phone calls into his answering machine I have not heard from him. Obviously, he doesn’t care- he got my 10k plus a whole lot more and the unit is still not working. I am writing this in an 83-degree temperature in my office. Louis Bruno and Mark Williams are acting like shady and dishonest business brokers with no- I repeat “NO” customer concern. They hire incompetent staff. Run-away far and run away fast – my contact with Bruno Air has been the worst decision of my life. To hear more and with more detail and to receive copies of pictures of the damage- I can be reached at 239-233-4135. If any one has a concern or any issues with this company call me- we can work together with my lawyer to make this right.

Terrible company. Deceptive and dishonest. Don't let them in your home. We were scammed! They charged us for a 2 year service program that we did not request nor want. They charged it to our credit card since they had the information for payment of the service call. They won't issue a refund. They are crooks. Spread the word in southwest Florida.

I called to make my appointment for a $49 Angies List coupon for AC clean and was told they had no record of me with Angies List. I gave them the number on the bottom of the ticket and they said they would check on it and get back to me. I called again and they said they still didn't have an answer. I have several rental properties so I didn't think about it until months later and then they said I was past my time frame so they wouldn't honor it and now instead of the $49 I paid for the voucher if I wanted the cleaning it would be $89 and they 49 could go towards that. They kept insisting they had no voucher = but now that its past the expiration date they suddenly will honor the $49 I paid if I pay another 40 more? I have called and written to Angies list and have not gotten any solution from them as yet either. Hopefully maybe this will.

I called Bruno to repair an AC system they had installed about three years ago. The AC condenser lines were freezing and the system was no longer cooling the house. The tech sent to inspect the system stated that the air handler coils had rust and he detected a leak. It was recommended that the evaporator coils would need to be replaced. The part itself would be covered under warranty but labor was going to be $2200 but he strongly urged me to purchase and install a new upgraded system even though the mid-tier system that Louis Bruno recommended himself was only 3 years old. I told him I would consider my options overnight and would call the next day to advise of my decision. After he left inspected the coils myself and saw no evidence of rust or corrosion at all. In fact the unit looked completely new so I called two other AC companies with an A ratings on Angies list for a second opinion. They came out the next day and determined that the reason the system was freezing up was because the thermo expansion value was stuck closed. Both companies confirmed the coils were in as new condition and their test equipment detected no leak. The cost to replace the valve was only going to be a couple of hundred dollars. Feeling like I was being scammed I contacted Bruno the next day to discuss the findings and to give them the opportunity to explain the inconsistencies. It would appear that the Bruno tech sent to diagnose the problem didn't perform any inspection or tests at all and was only interested in selling me a new system. Frustrated I asked to have Louis Bruno call me back to discuss. My call was not returned. A month later I received an invoice for the service call. I called Bruno back to explain my position that the service call was clearly not a service call but a sales call, that I felt that the company was not honest and truthful, didn't stand by their service or product recommendations and therefore I shouldn't be responsible for the call. Again I asked to to have Louis Bruno call me back and left a voice mail for him. Surprisingly I didn't receive any response. I paid the invoice but would never recommend this company.

Excellent. My daughters home was being sold and was set to close on Monday. The Friday before the closing the air conditioner went out. We called Art and he came out that day and did the emergency repair. Our real estate agent was so impressed that he said he will recommend Epic to his other clients.

Great! Only issue was I had to purchase the filters. They do not carry them on their trucks. But if you have them, they will install.

It was not okay but they were not the best. They gave a good service but they were not the best. I had to change my air conditioning and they were wrong on many things. Bruno Air would not be number 1 in Ft. Myers. It says that the price I got for cleaning was cheap but the price that they were giving me to change my air conditioning was high. I don't think they have the best quality.

On 4/19/2016 I had my original company come and check my air system and when the tech came downstairs he was really upset. Apparently Bruno Air had installed the transformer incorrectly and ilegally. He said in his 25 years he had never seen anything like it. Not only could it have caused a fire, short circuited out my system, but even worse, anyone working or near the exchanger could have been seriously harmed. He called Bruno Air to tell them about it and the person who called him back said that tech didn't work for them any more and besides that it was NO BIG DEAL! I think it is and wrote them an email stating so. I have not heard back from them and I intend to let as many people as I can know about this. If you had any work done by Bruno and the Tech was Hazen please insist that they or get another comoany, to come out and inspect his work. This really is a very serious situation and I'm sure if it was done here it was done elsewhere. I would hate to see anyone get hurt because Bruno Air doesn't think it's a big deal!!!!!
Bruno deserves special thanks for this one. My 92 year old Aunt needed a new A/C line for her condo, but one of the condo units the line was to pass over appeared abandoned and had mold in it. They are keeping my Aunt cool free of charge until that condo is cleaned, and the work in the attic above it can be done. This is one of those great experiences with a caring company, which was recommended as highly professional by one of my Aunt's neighbors in Falling Waters. Needless to say, I highly recommend Bruno!!

Complete evaluation and quotes were provided on Tuesday, and matching our home inspectors report issues. The 2.5 ton unit was in need of major service, 5 ton unit was functioning, but needed service as well due to lack of prior home owners maintenance. We chose to have both systems completely replaced, as they were almost 10 years old, near end of service anyway.
Bruno's stayed in touch with date and time for install, nice to be the next day! Teams showed up the next morning in 2 trucks with the 2 systems, and 2 teams to handle the installs. Laid covers on floors, and went to work disassembling the large air handlers in the attics, and installing new Trane systems. Installers worked all day, and 1 tech stayed until almost 8:00 PM to finish the details. Left the home clean, cool, tested all performance, and explained the details of what they did. Very pleased with the attention to details, and desire to provide excellent fast services.

They ended up selling my husband a brand new A/C system for 13k; the Mercedes of all air conditioning units. The installation was done incorrectly. The electrical system went out on it twice! It shorted and there was smoke all through the system. During this time, I also asked about how often filters need to be changed and never got the same answer from one person. I wouldn't recommend them at all!
