About us

Bryan Plumbing, Heating & Waterproofing has been serving the needs of Baltimore City and Baltimore County for over 70 years. We are a woman-owned and operated company, now in our 3rd generation of family ownership and leadership. Robin Bryan Culver bought out her mom and dad in 1977. Since then she has constantly extended the scope of plumbing and waterproofing services that are offered. In addition to running the office, her area of expertise is Basement Waterproofing. She attends nearly every education program available in her field. Her specialty is Stone Foundation Waterproofing. Robin often lectures on the topics of "New Techniques in Basement Waterproofing" and "Stone Foundation Waterproofing" at The National Association of Waterproofing and Structural Repair Contractors meetings held in conjunction with the World of Concrete. She likes solving her customer's water problems and she is very proud to say "No Job We Have Done Has Failed!" Our Plumbing and Heating team is led by Registered Master Plumber and Master Gas Fitter, Matthew E. Ellis. Matt has worked with Robin for over 30 years and is well respected by our customers. Lee Simmons is our Waterproofing Supervisor. He has worked for Bryan for over 15 years. Lee is very diligent about his job and takes Basement Waterproofing to a whole new level.

Robin scheduled a visit for the estimate with Matt, who took lots of time to diagnose the problems I was having. He went through each thing he thought he would do and explained why each action was needed. I received a written estimate a few days later and we scheduled the job in two parts. The first was for the thermal expansion tanks. He arrived when promised and completed the job as specified. He took great pride in the solution he had fashioned since the problem was not at all straight forward. He then explained exactly what he had done and why. The second was for the repiping. This took about four days, and he scheduled the work (with extra work for himself) so that we would not lose hot water in the master bathroom in the mornings. Again, when complete, he took lots of time to explain the reason for the various twists and turns in this old house, how the water valves worked, etc., but also pointed out other possible safety issues he saw not connected to the job. He also tried to solve a sink stopper issue that wasn't in the job, and replaced a broken valve in the tub even though I hadn't even mentioned it. The entire job was as estimated. Could not recommend Bryan more highly. <br />

Matt arrived right on time.  He went right to work.  Found that there was difficulty with a part that wouldn't fit, went to the plumbing supply place to get the part.  Came back with the same work ethic and attention to detail that he had prior to the trip.  What can I say, this guy and this company is the real deal!!!!!  You get experience and wisdom, no charm or negativity when the job looks harder than expected, just someone who's been doing the work a long time and knows his stuff.  No salesmen antics, just good old customer service the way it is from some and used to be.  This is our family plumber and we will always call him and this company first!  The best plumber we have had since moving to Baltimore, MD!

Matt arrived 10 minutes early and entered our home at the time agreed upon.  We took him throughout the house and showed him the various items we wanted him to address.  He offered his professional opinion of what was needed and we agreed upon a price for the work.  He offered detailed information and options that were easily understood by a layperson.  He completed the repairs and offered to shave down to floor level a couple of bolts that had been oddly placed by a prior owner and that protruded near a wall where he placed a pipe anchor.  <br />

Overall it was a good experience. I called the night before and left a voice message.  Early the next morning I was contacted by the owner, Robin, and she promised to send a plumber out by 9 A.M. Sure enough, at the appointed time the plumber arrived. He worked quickly and was gone within a little over an hour.  I was impressed and satisfied.

The plumber was prompt and very professional. He examined the problem and decided it had to do with the construction of the shower more than a plumbing issue. He suggested to get a general contractor to fix the problem. I will definitely use this company for any further plumbing needs.

They were local. They had already done some work in this area which I felt was good. I had also previous dealings with them and also they had good reputation. They work very tidily and they are pretty upfront about what is going to be involved. They quality is higher than some. I didn’t have any problem with them at all. They were on time. They had to stop the work and rework but it was not their fault at all. Their price is high but its worth it.

Bryan was very knowledgeable bout foundation construction & gave detailed information what had to be done to resolve the problem. Work was done efficiently & completed on schedule. Personnel were personable, courteous, knowledgeable and answered all questions. In as very pleased with the outcome. All in all an excellent job!

They were pretty good, professional and clean.  The one downside was that on the first day that they came, they didn?t come equipped to do finish the work.  They covered up everything like the walls and carpeting.  But, they had to come back the second day.  They cleaned up well and they offered good suggestions.

I got 5 estimate and they were not the cheapest, but I knew I would be getting a better quality of parts and service by going through with them. The guy who did the installation was so nice and extremely professional. The owner was also super nice and I like that it's been a family business for years.
