I set up 2 appointments with Keith Drake (March 14th and March 21st.) He was a "no show" to both appointments. He will not respond to any of my calls. I'm afraid I was a victim of fraud. I have filed a police report with the Huntington Woods, Michigan Police department (Report # 15-0502) taken by Lieutenant Spencer.

My husband called Budget Appliance Repair to help with fixing our GE Profile Cooktop. One burner out of four was not working at the time of the repair call. Keith came out and looked at the job deciding he needed to purchase a new set of burners for the left side of our glass stovetop. After waiting several weeks, he returned to install the part. After the installation, we discovered we could not use both burners simultaneously without them shorting each other out, now having only two working burners. After a couple more visits and another new set of burners from Keith, still shorting out, he tried to diagnosis the problem further and ordered a third set of burners. He told us he now knew what part needed to be ordered. Not knowing if he could get his hands on the part, he told us he would get back with us about finalizing the repair. After weeks of calling Jamie and Keith with no response, my husband finally got a hold of Jamie who told us that Keith will be taking our calls from now on and will be making an appointment with us. My husband, on numerous occasions, tried to call Keith's cell phone and even emailed him (through Angie's List) with no response. We are out $341.16 and a set of burners for the left side of our cooktop. We have now taken up the issue with our credit card company, Better Business Bureau, and Angie's List. After some research and data collection, I am noticing very similar situations with other clients on Yellow Pages, Better Business Bureau, and Angie's List. You can read the Angie's List reviews for yourself. I have posted the Yellow Pages below. Better Business Bureau does not show the written complaints, but notes there were 5 complaints, 3 within the last few months. I encourage others who have had a problem to come forward and complain on all sites. People like this have no right being able to advertise on Angie's List or for that matter continue to stay in business.
Keith, I don't want to hear a reply from you like you did with others making their whole ordeal seem like they were crazy and clueless. The fact of the matter is that you are to blame. You took parts from us and others and didn't replace them, didn't respond back from concerned clients to fix the situation or refund their money, and are still in business getting away with it. Not sure how this is happening, but if I don't receive a credit on my credit card account within the next few weeks, I will continue posting poor reviews until you no longer have clients to rip-off.
Yellow Page Reviews:

Anna J.09/02/2014
This guy is a thief and a liar. They have set at least a dozen appointments and have kept maybe three. they lie constantly, never return calls or even answer their own phone and are obviously not able to fix any appliance. I would NEVER recommend this company, if you really need to just give money away and still have a broken appliance, call them! otherwise find any joker on the street to fix your appliances, at least he will show up! my next step is the better business bureau and angies list!!! DO NOT use this company!!!!!!!!!

They told me they can't find a part. Without looking at my fridge. I assumed he knew what he was doing. They finally told me they found the part. And he was suppose to come out Saturday and they let me know he was sick and he couldn't come out. They said that they didn't have the right part. They will not return my calls.
On 11/18/14 the repairman did come out to the our home and replaced the circuit board that we had been waiting on that he had told us would fix our fridge, which it did not. The problem is with the fridge not cooling and the part he replaced did not change this. He suggested contacting Samsung to discuss possible warranty replacement, which I've done and will cost me an additional $385 to have them send their tech out to fix the issue. I simply asked the repairman from Budget if it made more sense to put back the origininal circuit board so that when Samsung came out it didn't void any warranty, he became very angry stating "I see what you're donig" and stormed out of the house without providing any reciept for the part we paid for. There was an additional charge of $140 for his actual labor that I did not pay for while he was here, but since he has my credit card information I'm putting a stop payment on that in case they try to run it.
Response from Budget Appliance Repair
"When we first arrived the compressor was not running, We quoted you the price and install of the new board which you decided to repair. At this time you also asked the washer and dryer repaired. After installing the new board we went on to the other two appliances and completed that work. The we went back to the refrigerator which now everything was running but not cooling at all. I advised you to call the manufacturer to check on your warranty. You then told be you purchased a warranty and that another company would be out to repair it. So when I asked for payment on the other two appliances you decided not to pay us. If you are looking for a refund it will cost you 40 for a service call 40 for labor to pull out your new board and the payment on the washer and dryer. We then will send out the new board for processing then issue the balance to you."

I called to see if they could help with an issue we were having with our
Dryer. Jamie called me back immediately to schedule the appointment for
the date and time that i had available. Keith came out and fixed my
dryer in less than an hour. He knew exactly what the problem was and
fixed it promptly. Now our dryer is working better than it has in a
while. We will definitely use them again.

It?s a small business. He did satisfactorily repaired my mother?s washer. He was on time. He works quickly. I think his prices are very competitive and he seems to be very honest about the repair cost. He wasn?t trying to do anything more than what had to be done.

The man that came to the house to do the repairs was great. He got back to me quickly when I called. He was very professional. He even gave me an extra discount which I wasn’t even expecting. He was just very thoughtful and I would definitely call him again. I think I went with him because of the location and he just seemed to be reasonably priced, and I also had a coupon.

Jamie contacted me the same day and Keith came out the next day. He had to order the part. When it didn't come in as soon as he expected, Keith came to the house to make sure that the refrigerator was a least running somewhat. As soon as the part came in, he came out and fixed it. Keith was very professional and has a great personality.
I called Budget Appliance to repair my 3 year old Samsung refrigerator. I had to leave voice mail (Of the more than 15 phone calls made to Budget Appliance over a 3 week period I never reached a person), always got voice mail never a real person and only 3 or 4 of the voice mail messages were ever returned, but they responded to text messages much better) A day after I first left voice mail about my refrigerator they returned my call and told me they were very busy and could not come out until the next day. The following day a repair man came to my house and within 2 or 3 minutes (without ever hooking up a meter or any test equiptment) told me the main circuit board in my fridge was shot and with service calls and parts it would be $421 to fix. I was kinda shocked the fridge is only 3 years old and only cost About $1000 new, but I'm in the middle of major renovations to the house trying to get it ready to rent out so I said ok go ahead and order the part. I was told it would take about 10 days to get the part. Approx 10 days later they called me and set up an appointment to install the part. The day the repair man arrived to install the circuit board was a particularly hectic day I had 2 heating and cooling men there installing a wall heater in the family room I had a painter there (a friend) and I had a carpenter there working, and when he arrived I was on the phone taking care of other problems with the renovation. The repair man was only there a few minutes and I was still on the phone so rather than hold him up I ask my painter friend to give him the check for the service call and he was on his way. About an hour or two later I went to look at the fridge and to my suprise he never bothered to put the shelves or drawers back in the fridge and in the 10 days while waiting for the part to arrive a large block of ice had reformed. So I paid $421 and he never put the fridge back together and it didn't work properly because there was a large block of ice in the ducts that allowed the cool air to enter the fridge so it still didn't work. In the next 2 or 3 days I called Budget Appliance about 5 or 6 times never got to speak to a person. I left voice mail each time. The voice mail was never returned. I finally sent a text message (which was finally returned a couple of hours later) They gave me an appointment for two days later between 2 and 3 PM. The day of the appointment rolls around and no one from Budget appliance arrives and no call or text explaining the missed appointment. I tried to call them but only voice mail. I leave a voice message but no response. I go back to sending a text message and they finally respond. They act like nothing is wrong and tell me the repairman had trouble with his truck and they give me an appointment for 2 days later between 4 and 5 PM. The repairman arrives and immediately has an attitude. He says "what is wrong with my work" I explain that he never bothered putting the fridge back together and that there was still a large ice block in the fridge not allowing it to get cool. "Oh he say, I was an honest mistake" "I'll fix it." I go in the other room while he works. He informs me he is "done". I said "If you don't mind I'm going to check first before you leave" I go to the the fridge and the shelves are not in properly I showed this to him and said this isn't right. He gets more of an attitude and and tell me to go in the other room while he fixes it. Again he tells me he's "done" and I look and one of the shelves is in backward and doesn't lay flat and it rocks up and down and the door won't close all the way. I go into the other room while he "fixes it". For the 3rd time he tells me he's "done" I go the the fridge and you can see that the door still isn't closed all the way. I tell him that the door isn't closed and he gets right in my face (about 6 inches away from my face) and says loudly "that door is closed". By this time I am furious and I said to him "I don't give a sh$t who you are that door isn't closed." He scream "I don't have to take this" grabs his tools and leaves without ever finishing the job. It took me a few minutes of repositioning the shelves and the door finally closed.

I had Budget Appliance come out to fix my clothes dryer, here is what happened in the FOUR visits that they had to come out:
Visit 1: Repairman comes and says I need a few parts, he also recommends that the dryer ducts need cleaning. I asked if having the dryer ducts cleaned would delay the repair of the dryer itself (since the dryer did not work at all, and having a working dryer with a one year old is very important). He stated that it wouldn't delay the fixing of the dryer.
Visit 2: Did some cleaning of the dryer vent, had to go on another call. The dryer was left with the door off (apparently he was wrong about it delaying the fixing of the dryer).
Visit 3: Ducts are fully cleaned, and repairman claims that the dryer is fixed. When I came home from work (I had to have in-laws come for all these repair calls), and tried the dryer, the dryer wouldn't work.
Visit 4: Dryer appears repaired. I asked the repairman if I should get some sort of refund, since I had been without a working dryer for so long, and had to deal with scheduling all these appointments due to problems on their end. That is when the repairman said "No, in fact be glad because other places would pay for each visit." To which, my thoughts were that other places would have had this problem fixed in a couple visits.
Kicker: After a month my dryer is acting up with the same problem!!!
Also, throughout this ordeal, it was difficult to get someone on the phone or to return my calls.
If you are looking to use Budget Appliance, here is a tip: take your money and flush it down the toilet. At least that way you don't waste your time scheduling all the service appointments needed.

The repair person, Keith, came a couple weeks ago and had to order the defroster for the refrigerator. The part was delayed coming but the technician came back once (without charge) just to manually thaw out the coils so the refrigerator would continue to cool properly. The part was installed today and the refrigerator runs great. He explained what was going on, exactly what it would cost, and tried to keep me informed as to the part's arrival and installation. I would definitely recommend their services!
