Budget Climate Control

Adam was great. He showed up earlier than the scheduled appointment which worked out great. He was professional. Explained the work that was done and provided some good tips on future maintenance. This is the 2nd time using Budget. Will definitely continue to use them.

It was an outstanding service. Very knowledgeable and very professional. Same person who knows the system and goes out the way to explain everything.

Budget climate control installed the wrong furnace - one too large for the house. When we complained that it vented large volumes of lukewarm air, off and on every 20 mins all night, thus disturbing the sleep of the household, they admitted the error and scheduled a replacement. Then someone higher in the company cancelled the replacement, and refused to return my calls. They also damaged the basketball hoop when they backed into the driveway, and scraped up the tile floors by pulling the furnace instead of lifting it.

Done professionally.

They are prompt to arrive for the job and do good work. We had them install a new pump for our cooler and have now signed up for their annual maintenance plan ($193/year).

Customer service was very poor. I was on maintenance plan and was charged to $120 to start up the system. I called again 2 weeks later because there was a leak in the hose bib valve. The technician came out and fixed the leak and charged me $110. I spoke to GM Adam, he said the charge was $90.00 for the diagnosis and the rest in parts. Adam was insistent, abrupt, unprofessional and abrasive. He told me to take my business elsewhere.

The work was fine, the communication from the office was horrible. They do not call to let you know they are on the way. And when they make arrangements to call you about something they do not call.

From start to finish I was very impressed with how professional, yet friendly, the staff was. The scheduler called mefirst thing in AM, and she worked hard to get someone out right away. The tec h, Bill, actually arrived 10-15 minutes early, very nice and professional in explanation of the process to find problem, and got to work right away. Fortunately for me it was a minor repair and cost much less than I expected. When Bill finished up he explained the problem and the fix, and his inspection of the system to ensure safe and continued operation. I was very pleased with all.

Did fine with the laundry drain, but couldn't clean out the bathroom drain, because the clean out was stuck and needed to be replaced . He did some cleaning through the drain, but was not a complete clean. I had him schedule an appointment to replace the broken clean out part . When he later came to do that, I asked him if he was now going to clean out the drain properly and he said no, it was working fine. It wasn't and we continued to have the same problem until we hired another company.

Terrible. We had just gotten back from a trip in late May and needed the coolers turned on ASAP. Called our regular contractor and they were backed up for a week. We checked Angie's List and got Budget Climate Control's name. They sent a Technician the next day. He got the unit on the side of the house running. He then went to the one on the roof. He came down and informed us that we needed a new float valve. I told him to go ahead and replace it. He came down a little while later and said the pan was leaking severely and needed to be replaced. We asked for an estimate on parts and labor, He said it would take a couple of days. We left the unit turned off and waited. By the third business day we finally called him. He said he had talked to two suppliers and they told him that they wouldn't sell the pan separately, that we would have to buy a whole new unit. He said he would talk to a third supplier and get back to us. We never heard from him again. We called our regular contractor and they had a tech to our house the same day. He inspected the unit on the roof and told us the pan was fine and the leak was due to the fact that Budget's tech had hooked up the piping incorrectly. He corrected it and the unit worked fine. He inspected the unit on the side of the house and found the same piping poroblem. He also mentioned that the oil cups on the fan shaft bearings had not been filled. He fixed the problems and commented that both units were in great shape and should last for many years. This wasn't all that surprising since the units were installed in the fall of 2013 and had only seen 3 summers of use. I called the owner of Budget Climate Control and told him I wanted a refund. He asked me why I had waited so long. I said I was waiting to see what else went bad. He offered to refund $100 of the bill. I told him that I thought a fair refund was the start-up costs which were $89.99 for the first unit and $69.99 for the second since one unit didn't get started up and the other one was started up incorrectly. I mentioned I was going to write a review for Angie's List. He told me he wouldn't pay that amount. He told me to write the review. He said he had enough good reviews that one bad one wouldn't make any difference. Then he hung up.

Truthfully I am not sure. They repaired a leak in the coolant system and recharged it. Pretty expensive but I don't have a good comparison. The system was still not working right and they suggested it could be the thermostat, which I changed myself. Now the system is working but having a hard time keeping up with the hot weather.

Charged me way more than a normal plumber

Lionel was fantastic to work with. I had asked for an estimate thinking that my cooler might be on it's last legs, but Lionel told me that with a few small repairs I might get some more years out of it. Lionel was very personable, careful, and thorough, and extremely generous with his time. I would highly recommend this company. This is the second time they have done work for me, and I have been very impressed with their professionalism and the quality of their work.

Fine. However, in terms of hiring again, I don't know because the two men who worked for me have moved to another company. Also, I don't remember the date of service or the amount paid.

Got the service thru Angie's list special. Vendor came in on time. Representative polite. Will hire again when special is offered.

They diagnosed issues right away and advised me of product and pricing options. They were prompt, friendly, courteous and always called if they were delayed for any reason. I received an email several hours before my appointment and then a call about 10 minutes before, which was a big help. Due to a missing part, the project was carried over until the following Monday but they were there early and finished before noon. Everything was clean and tidy when they left. Great job!

Went well. He was very friendly and answered all my questions. Explained everything well. The part I needed was a little pricey and took only like 2 seconds to install.

There ended up being that I needed my coolant recharged, so that was more than the big deal price. They didn't charge more for the basic. They showed up on time and seemed to work really hard. They seemed professional. They gave me a variety of choices. We talked about it, they didn't mind when I came outside to watch them.

Tech was great and very informative. Answered all our questions. Will not hesitate to call Budget Climate Control again.
