I'm very glad to have chosen Budget Flooring for this job. I received multiple quotes from different contractors but felt most comfortable with Budget Flooring. I was very impressed with Vlad and Devan as they were professional, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. Vlad provided the quote in a timely manner and kindly made adjustments based on my material preferences. The demo and installation went very fast...taking only 4 days to complete everything. The installers were fantastic. They were highly skilled, considerate, and very hard-working. I would definitely recommend Budget Flooring for any of your flooring needs.

Budget sent two men to install the floor on the appointed day. They worked quickly and efficiently and completed the job in a day. We had to wait a while for the rugs to come in; when they did, Budget sent two men to place them where we wanted them placed. Our living room is really looking good with the completion of the floor work. I can't say enough about how easy it was to work with Vlad, starting with the estimate.
It was like an engineered hardwood. The ownership in the sunset, the person that came out and did the installation, work through the company was not a contractor, just like ownership of the whole thing from start to finish and has very good workmanship.

Second time doing business with Vlad and his crew. Had them install laminate flooring throughout my house including stairs. Did an excellent job at a reasonable price. Vlad (owner) is easy to communicate with and a very personable guy. I will continue to use Budget Flooring for years to come.

Budget Flooring redid our floor after a disastrous installation by another contractor. The new floor looks great!
We've got an Eichler-style house, which makes everything difficult. There's no subfloor - just an aging concrete slab - and the house is near sea level, so a modest amount of moisture seeps through the concrete.
Contractor #1 neglected to test for moisture and did a glue-down installation of solid wood flooring. The glue didn't set properly because of the dampness, the wood absorbed moisture and warped, and finally when it got warm the wood expanded and buckled, leaving big mounds throughout the house. A huge mess (happily, Amica Insurance sorted us out).
Vlad recommended a floating installation (to allow for thermal expansion) of engineered wood (to prevent absorption and warping) over a double moisture barrier (to reduce moisture in the first place).
His crew took 4 days total to do the installation, 2 days for each half of the house, which allowed us to move the furniture around during the installation instead of putting everything into storage. On day 1 they did demolition and vapor barrier installation, and on day 2 they installed the wood.
The installers did a nice job, and it was clear they paid close attention to detail. During the demolition, they pulled up some old linoleum in the kitchen, which installer #1 didn't do, and they cleaned up the old glue, which in my experience is an enormous pain. The installation was neatly done, and there was almost no dust in the house after they were finished. Even the baseboards had nice little touches: they caulked small gaps and deftly handled some existing molding that made for difficult installation in a few spots. Notably, they trimmed the bottom of our front door to allow room for the added height from the moisture barriers, and they made room for some attractive molding.
I've since checked moisture levels in the floor, and they're just what they should be - less than 1/3 of what I measured with the previous floor. I'm confident that the new floors will stay put for a long time.
The only hitch: we had a bit of a miscommunication about whether I wanted the whole house redone or everything but the kitchen (I asked for quotes for both). Vlad ordered wood for the smaller job, but we wanted the larger. We went ahead with the job with the understanding that the additional wood would be shipped in time to complete the job as originally scheduled. The supplier was slow in shipping the additional wood needed, so we ended up having to be out of the house a few days longer than we had anticipated. The final result, though, was totally worth the headache.
Response from Budget Flooring Inc
"Thank you for your business and we appreciate that you valued our fine attention to detail. Even though there was a hitch we appreciate that you were flexible and entrusted us to make the proper adjustments. Thank you again and we hope you enjoy your new flooring for a long time to come."

After we ordered the carpet we received a call that one of the colors was not available. Kelly offered an alternate carpet which we accepted. We were pleased with the selection. However, during installation the installer told us that there was not enough carpeting material for the master bedroom closet. But there was more than enough for that section by using the carpeting from another bedroom. We said okay to using the different color since it's in the closet and close enough in color (blue and aquamarine) not to be a distraction. But I did wonder how the two measurements were not correct.
At the end of the day we feel we got a great price on a service and goods project that could have been a lot more expensive. There were some communication breakdowns that created some annoyance and aggravations to my partner....but, at the end of the day the job got done and the price was right, and that's really where my priorities are on a project like this...I'm not paying another vendor an extra $5,000 for great customer service. I just want the best price and the job to get done right...
I was shopping around for a hardwood floor for my rental townhouse, I spoke to three vendors and Budget had the best price/quality combinnation. Vlad is knowlegable and eager to work with me base on my budget and requirement, helped me choose the right bamboo floor for the job. The crew worked efficiently and professionally. The worked finished on time and the new floor looks beautiful. I will and have already recommended them to other people.

They came to my home with several samples then recommend to just cover old vinyl instead of removing the old one. They were able to remove just a small amount of the old damaged one and leveled the whole floor to the same height. They installed new baseboard.

There were no glitches. As I said, the process, timeline, and cost was all explained clearly and there were no unexpected surprises. The only surprise was how seamless the process was. I am very pleased.

Budget was admirably responsive. They showed us ways to keep the job economical, so of course the selection of materials was limited. They did the work when they said they would and did a good job. We will probably use them again in the future.

Their price was very reasonable. The person we dealt with was responsive. I didn?t really deal with him personally, but my husband did. He was very nice to my husband and he did a good job as well.

The quality of work was pretty good. The sales guy was knowledgeable. They did the work quickly because I had a very short time frame. The workmanship was also pretty good. There were a few little things that I thought could have been done better, but, they really did a very good job within the time frame they had.

We shopped around 4-5 different places before settling on the carpet we liked. RJ at Budget Flooring gave us the best pricing for that carpet and included a great pad upgrade almost free. RJ was friendly, informative and answered a lot of our questions before we decided to go with Budget Flooring. We set up an installation date, but then had to reschedule it because of fumigation delays. RJ was able to accommodate our new schedule just fine. The evening before installation RJ called to confirm that we were still on, and that that the crew would arrive between 9-10am. On the installation date, the crew arrived on time at 9:30. They completed the installation within 1/2 as originally promised. The quality of the install job was top notch. We had just freshly painted the rooms and put in new baseboards. There were no scratches/marks on the walls/baseboards after the carpet installation. They cleaned up and vacuumed before leaving. Bugdet Flooring doesn't sub-contract the install jobs, they have their own crew. This was a big plus for us when making the decision because with subcontractors its a gamble and you never know what quality of labor you'll get. They also provide 90-day same as cash financing which was a great help.

Had a wall to wall carpet in poor condition which needed replacement. We went with laminate which we needed to match to laminate flooring elsewhere in the house. This wasn't easy- two other quality flooring companies had difficulty doing this. However, RJ Melendez came up with an exact match. Delivery of flooring and quarter round were in advance so that I could paint the quarter round. The workers arrived the following Monday as scheduled and had the new floor installed without any mess or fuss in 5 hours. I am very satisfied with both the process and the result.

In 2005, awaiting the birth of our third child, we finally decided to get rid of wall-to-wall carpeting upstairs - it covered the stairs, hallway, and all three bedrooms. What with two kids and a cat and dog, it was just getting nasty. So we went around the corner to Budget Flooring and were quite pleased with the selection and price of the products and the friendliness of Vlad and his staff. They allowed us to take samples home to see how it would look and helped us decide on the laminate hardwood flooring for the stairs and hallway, and the vinyl tile for the bedrooms. They came out when they said they would, took away the carpet, and installed the flooring. Two things I remember from the installation - one was the guys asked me about the floor of the hall closet, which I had completely forgotten about, and then went ahead and installed the flooring nicely there, and they also made sure to ask what layout pattern I wanted for the bedroom floor tiles, which again was something I hadn't even thought about. Here in 2009, the floors still look great and we are very happy. Thank you, Vlad!
