They were terrific, and measured precisely with laser devices for exactness. I was impressed with that. Two installers came out, and they seemed highly skilled. I also appreciated their attention to detail and making sure everything was put in just right - they were even careful with the silicone caulking. I appreciated how they covered everything to protect it, and cleaned up after themselves. Very detail oriented.

I selected them based on their A rating in Angies List and on their location being only about 3 miles away.
My first phone call was to their office number on a Monday morning at 8:30am. It said their hours began at 8:00am, but my 8:30am call was answered by Joe on his cell phone who said he was on his way to the office. I told him about the broken window pane replacement needed and he said he would call me back when he was in the office and could check the schedule.
I received a phone call back from Lina about 10am and she scheduled an appointment for two days thereafter (Wednesday) for between 11am and 1pm with Joe. The next day (day before the scheduled work), I called back to give her the approximate measurements (16"x20") for the window pane. She acted as if I had no appointment set for the following day and initially tried to re-schedule me for the following week. Ultimately, we agreed to a price of $213.75 and they would adhere to the previously agreed upon appointment on Wednesday between 11 and 1.
On the appointed day (Wednesday), I hadn't seen or heard from them by noon, so I phoned the office. No answer (and the phone mail message gave no indication of the company's name). I left a detailed message on their answering machine asking them to call me with Joe's expected arrival time. About 10 minutes thereafter, I received a call from someone (I forget his name) who said her was from American Mirror and Glass. At first, he tried to cancel the appointment because it was raining lightly at the time. I assured him that the job was in a basement inside the home, so the installation would be in a completely dry location. He agreed that he would arrive in about 45 minutes.
About 5 minutes later I received a call from Lina who said she was returning my phone mail message. I told her who I was and who had just called me. She assured me that he was a "senior installer" and would be at my home in 20 minutes with the glass to do the job.
He arrived as he had told me in about 45 minutes. I naively was expecting a van with a company name and logo, but he arrived in an unmarked passenger car. He was also wearing nothing or carried no ID to identify himself as an employee with American Mirror and Glass. Nevertheless, I let him in to do the job.
He remove the broken glass and then went back to the car to await someone else (I learned his name was Jonas) who arrived about 20 minutes later with the replacement glass. They both then worked together in the basement to cut the glass to size and to install and caulk it. Fortunately, the replacement installation was done competently and they cleaned up afterwards. Note: I had to supply them with a step-stool to reach the window comfortably as well as a broom and dust pan for them to do the clean up.
I paid with a check. As they were departing the first installer apologized for being late (he knew the appointed window was between 11am and 1pm and he first arrived about 1:30pm). As you can imagine, I was very disappointed and frustrated with American Mirro and Glass during this two day process. Nevertheless, I chose to look on the bright side and was just satisfied that I ultimately got the window repaired and for a reasonable price.
I called and he was able to come right away and pick up the table. Promised to have it ready in one week, and true to his word, had it back the following Saturday. Delivered the table, and reinstalled the medicine cabinet mirror. I am very pleased with the service and the job. Would recommend him and would use him again.

Joe came promptly for the initial measurements.

He gave a good quote and good advice. And had a better price.
He said it would take 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed and I hadnt heard from him. I emailed and he said "Its ready". This made me think that it was sitting there and had I not emailed, it would have continued to be there.
He arrived to install very LATE. like 3-4 hours.
for the 2 door unit he mismeasured the height, but came up with a work around. Used a shorter piece.
He forgot some sealant and promised to be back within the week to fix it. What I really didnt like is he left the place a mess. All the dust from drilling the tile just sat there.
Anyway, a week passed and I called for him to finish the job. He came LATE again. LEft the place semi clean, but dust and drill stuff all over.
In short the price was right, but I want impressed with the execution of the service.
I had to call about 3 times to be sure they received my email and set the pick up date. Once he received it they were able to quickly turn around and cut the three pieces of glass I needed. The man who helped us was very professional.
Joe and his team were very responsive and thorough. They worked around my schedule and installed the beautiful mirror quickly and efficiently. The mirror couldn't fit through the stairs, but they went the extra mile in making sure that the mirror got into the bathroom on the second floor.
American Glass and Mirror came to my home and installed a frame less shower. They worked very efficiently and finished my bathroom in no time. My bathroom looks great and I am getting lots of compliments from friends and family. Not to mention, the price was unbelievable. A special thanks to Joe and his crew for making me "one happy camper". I would recommend these guys to anyone!!!

They?ve called me to let me know there was a chip and it had to be re-done. They called again to tell me that it would be complete this week and finished with safety features. They said it would be delivered no later than today (4/6/2011). I have tried to reach them and they do not answer or return my phone calls.

I called a number of glass companies listed in Angies List Most quoted prices from $225 to $250 and one said that it would be cheaper to sell me a new shower. Another told me that I would have to bring the door to them, a long way from my home. Joe A. at American Glass came to my house quoted me a flat price of $180, told me how long it would take to order the special glass required and fix the door, took it with him, returned it reglazed in that time period and installed it for the price quoted. He was very pleasant to work with and I would recommend him and his firm for a similar job.

In the mean time I had a couple inside screens that needed to be replacrd so I had him quote prices for those repairs. They were small screens and he quoted me a rather high price. I agreed and gave him the custom made screens but later changed my mind about the screen repairs. I called him to tell him that I changed my mind about the screens but that I still wanted him to do the window repair. I've tried to contact him multiple times but he will not return my calls or emails. I've asked him several times to return the screens through email and voicemail.

It was a disaster. Everything took longer than promised, I had to call them constantly because they never called me, they damaged my bathroom floor during installation, and the finished product is faulty. I kept having to call the company to tell them what was-and wasn't- happening. One of the workmen left his drill and never came back. Weeks and weeks later after I sent a strongly-worded letter they said they would finish the job for free (I would not need to pay the remaining balance). However, when the guy came to finish the job- install the second mirror and correct the first mirror which was shoddily installed- he knew nothing about needing to correct the first mirror and did not have the materials to do the job. So, he installed the second mirror and left with the promise that they would be in touch to schedule the correction of the shoddily installed first mirror. When I never heard from them, I cut my losses and gave up. So the second mirror is great but the frame on the first remains crooked. I've learned to live with it.

Ed was the man in charge and I trusted him. He knew his trade very well. He expertly estimated the project. American Glass & Mirror LLC came in the lowest price of the 4 estimates I got and they offered a better quality product then some of the more expensive estimates. I asked for a special mirror to be made an installed and it proved a difficult cut. American Glass & Mirror LLC delivered on their promises and did not give up. Three men arrived to install the mirror which they did quickly answering my questions and concerns. The mirror looks wonderful and they left the workspace cleaner then they found it.

These guys are awesome. I needed to have several glass shelves cut quickly so that my contractor could put them in, so I was very anxious to get this done. They were open early and on a "holiday" (Columbus Day), were willing to cut these shelves while I waited (and they even gave me coffee and doughnuts while I waited!), and the price was excellent. These are definitely my "glass guys" now--I'm going back and I would very highly recommend them to anyone else.

I called around to a number of different vendors to find out how much it would cost to have custom glass shelves cut. A Plus was the most competitively priced at $30 per shelf. I asked about installation services, and they said that they could do that as well. So they sent two people out the same day to do the measurements for an estimate. They were supposed to arrive at 5 p.m. but did not show up until 8 p.m. But they took accurate measurements and offered advice on installation options. Installation would be $250, including parts and labor. They said that they could install the next day, but I needed to have some painting done first, so we arranged for installation to occur later in the week. On the appointed day, they were supposed to arrive at 11 a.m., but when they did not arrive by noon, I called, and they said that they were still on another job and would give me a call when they were half an hour out. They finally arrived at 3 p.m. Once there, however, they did a fantastic job with the installation. The alcoves are somewhat uneven, and they had cut the shelves to different sizes to fit the alcoves. They lined and centered everything properly, and I am very satisfied the the finished product; it looks fantastic. I will also note that Karim and his brother are very friendly and courteous, and I would definitely use them again...just make sure you don't plan anything around the expected time.

We won't be using or recommending this company. We are going with a more established and reputable company to come back and reinstall the door, even if we do have to pay money again.

Although my rating is a "B" according to the scale provided, I would actually rate the company a high "B+". Everyone at the company was aware I was an "Angie's List" customer and that did carry some weight. The company was very good at scheduling an actual on-site measurement very quickly. However, for reasons I never really understood they did have to come out and remeasure again a week later, but there was not change in the original price. The quality of work was very high. When concerns arose about the how changes were needed in order to the installation to be best, they were done at the company's expense. Care was taken to ensure no damage to the doors being installed, the remodeled bath in which they were being installed and throughout the entire area of the house through which they had to move to get to the bath. Customer courtesy was excellent, both over the phone and in person. The timing for completion of the job did take longer than had been originally estimated. This was not a major problem for me, as I was working to finish the bathroom work at the same time. Estimated times for the installers to both measure and complete the installation were always optimistic. The Company is obviously working a number of jobs and keeping the crew(s) busy. They always showed on the day promised, sometimes 1-2 hours late. Again, not a problem for me as they have late hours and appointments after 5 p.m. Once I was home, I wasn't having to work around other appointments that late in the day, so showing up at 7:30-8:00 p.m. wasn't a problem. I have used them again for a very small job, still associated with the same bathroom redo, glass shelves for a built in medicine cabinet and they were very accommodating. Again timing was a bit slower than anticipated, but the quality of the finished shelves, continuing courtesy by each of the staff and the fact I wasn't under any undue time pressure all worked to make the final product exactly what I needed. I can certainly recommend the company based on their living up to the price and quality of work provided, I would just suggest starting the process with 2-3 lead time over what I would consider usual customer timing expectations.

Initially things seemed very promising with this company. The people I spoke with on the phone were very helpful and they sent someone out to do the measurements. Then, once the mirror was installed, there were a few problems, specifically the mirror did not fit in the space and the installer was trying to jimmy it in, that wasn't working and they had to come back another day. A different installer came out and was able to "fix" the issue. The mirror looks fine but if you know where to look, it is not quite perfect, yet the installer was pleased with the work he did. In addition, one of the installers brought his girlfriend with him, so she was just kind of hanging out while he was working.

I paid for mirror and shower enclosure that were only partly installed after many weeks. Many excuses (no hardware, glass broke, etc.) but no results. They refused to refund my money.

I contacted them early in the week, made an appointment for an estimate and work if the quote seemed reasonable. They showed up exactly when they said they would despite notoriously bad parking availability in our area. I had them work on the windows as the quote was about what I expected (plus they were there, willing and available!), and it took them a couple of hours to do the job. The pane replacements look better than the originals in so far as the neat caulking job with transparent silicone. They took the time to clean up the glass fragments thoroughly, although they didn't come equipped with a vacuum (loaned them mine).
