Terrible. The installers are awful. The salesman doesn't know the products.

Our primary living room has this obvious seam running down the middle of the room. The carpet installers told us when they looked at the room, that they locate the seam to be close to one of the walls. Instead they put it where everyone is sure to see it. Not a good look. But that's not why I rated them poorly. I have a photographing table in my basement. The installers moved it and moved it back, and broke off two of my light holders in the process. Ugh! This hardware is no longer made and now I have to hunt down replacement hardware that will cost me at least $500.

Staff was friendly and helpful, especially with color selections. They arrived on time the day of installation and completed everything including moving our heavy furniture without any additional costs.

Was rushed from the start Don the owner was rude and in a hurry. Rushed through the job didn't explain the flush mount vent option so they were never installed and now would require nearly $800 worth of work to have them installed. There were problems with the floor that he reluctantly came out and looked at but offered no solution. I would steer people away from this company at all costs

The owner and sales people were knowledgeable and gave good recommendations.  The installers were excellent , experienced and very kind and thoughtful.  They showed great pride in their work and did a nice job of cleaning up.  They were prompt and worked on our floors until it was complete; whereas, some companies will bounce back and forth between jobs.  They installed a box trim around our fireplace which really stands out.  It's beautiful.  Our hickory floors are gorgeous and we would recommend Builders Custom Flooring. <br />

There were some hick ups but overall they did a good job. My one suggestion would be to improve communication with customer.  <br /> Dan gave us number of quotes and accommodated every time we requested a change in quote. <br />

I had a very complicated job because we have a geodesic designed dome house with lots of difficult angles.  Dan, the owner, promptly came out after another company I hired completely botched removing tile from the foyer.  Dan's company corrected the problem and made the foyer smooth before installing the engineered hardwood.  Dan said it would take 10 days and he was correct.  His workers also showed up on time.  Throughout the 10 days, we had several different crews working on the house, and some were better than others.  I recommend the crew with Josh.  The cleaning woman (Crystal I believe) was very nice and came out several times to clean because the house was undergoing construction at the time.  I had several warranty-type punch list items due to the complexity of the job and the company came out promptly to address.  I thought the pricing was kind of high but they did a very good job and it is a life time warranty on installation, which I feel confident they will honor.  I would hire them again and highly recommend them. <br />

I was in a rush to get the floor fixed while selling my home. Builders was able to get someone out almost immediately. Mike showed up early and got the job done quickly and skillfully. <br />

Very well. The guys who came out were very prompt and courteous. They made sure I knew what the plans were for each day and actually finished a little ahead of schedule. The floors look great and they left the place very clean. Even better, a lady came out next day to clean up any remaining dust - brilliant!! <br />

It took a bit of time (longer than originally estimated) after my initial deposit of 50% for the product to come into stock.  Once the product came in, BCF was very anxious to begin the work.  The crew arrived promptly at the agreed upon start time and worked a day and a half on prepping and installing the laminate and shoe molding over a large area.  Dan and his staff called the next day to inquire about my satisfaction.  I had a few things that needed fixing and they were over as soon as my schedule would allow to fix everything! on my list to my satisfaction. After that work was completed, they scheduled a cleaning person to clean the interior space where the work was done.  The only negative was around clean up outside.  They used their table saw in my garage, due to rain, and the area was completely covered in saw dust and never cleaned up.  Overall I am pleased with the work they've done and would recommend Dan and BCF to others for laminate installation.  <br />

We were pleased with the quality of work and particularly pleased with the people that they had come out here. They were very good. They did an excellent and beautiful job. I would recommend other members to make contact with them and have them come out to do a quote. We found them very reasonable, but not cheap. I also went out and had three other companies to quote it too, but some of them were just totally obscene. Some of them wanted to do the work if it was 100% upfront in terms of the payment and there's no way I would do that. We had another company that was very good and that we used before, but they were just a little bit too expensive for our budget this time. For the extra work that was done outside of the quote they provided me with an invoice, but I had to go back to them and ask that they provide a breakdown. They very happily provided it for me within two business days and they justified the cost of the extra work in the breakdown. Once I saw how it was broken down with labor, material, and cost for etcetera it made quite a bit of sense, but it would've been nice if they provided a breakdown to begin with. They adjusted the bottom line price with just a few general terms and that was not good enough, but when it came to quoting the job originally they provided a great deal of detail. They actually finished the job last Friday and I had the owner of the company, Dan Burgess, show up on Wednesday of this week to do a final walk-through. Today they just took care of the minor areas that had to be touched up which would complete the work. They were very punctual and they were good. Some of the workman were rough around the edges, but they were professional.

This is the third time we've hired Builders Custom Flooring to install hardwood flooring in our home and we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. I know there are less expensive companies, but for the quality of the work I think the price is reasonable. They always returned phone calls/e-mails quickly. They do beautiful, quality work and stand behind their product. Dan was always available to address any concern we may have had and made our satisfaction his priority. They were kind, professional and always cleaned up at the end of the day. The floors are absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't be happier!

Wonderful!  They were very sensitive to the time requirements for move into the new house.  They went above and beyond.

Perfect...I needed some unforeseen additional sub-floor work.   They did an excellent job.

First of all, the end result is beautiful, I cannot find fault with the product or the quality of the finished product. The issue was with the installers and the level of professionalism displayed. We had a kitchen, dining, living room, hallway area installation, just under 800 square feet. We ordered the flooring two weeks before Christmas and the owner was confident he could have it done before Christmas. We removed all furniture prior to the installation, but paid for the installer to remove the carpeting. We had 4 different installers over the entire job. The main issue was with two of the installers who did the bulk of the installation. I am sure that these two individuals were used to working on construction sites and not homes because very little consideration was given to language, cleanliness or behavior ? loud music, constant cell phone calls, crude jokes, sawdust on the front porch, boxes and extra wood tossed in the front yard and left that way. We were told that the floors would be delivered on a Monday, but they did not call or show up until Tuesday. I called on Monday and was told that the owner must have given me the wrong date for delivery. On Tuesday the wood was delivered, but because it was a day late, installation could not start until Thursday morning, but the prep would be done on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday around 11 AM one person showed up to remove the carpet and do the prep work for the installation. He left around 3 PM with the carpet removed and most of the prep work completed. The office called me and said he would be back on Thursday by 10:30 AM. He arrived around 11 AM and started work, only to have equipment problems so only one strip of boards was put down in the living room before he left. The owner called and said he would send two installers early Friday morning to finish and if needed they would wrap up on Saturday. At noon when they had not appeared, I called the office and was told that they were tied up with another job. They showed up at 2 PM, spent an hour cleaning out their truck because they had some kind of spill on the way from the other job. They started at 3 PM and then told me they would be leaving at 5 because they had plans. I explained that the owner said they would work late on Friday and finish up any loose ends on Saturday. They told me they did not work on Saturday. After conversations with the owner, they did manage to partially complete one room and begin on the kitchen, however they complained throughout the process, leaving around 8 PM. On Saturday, they did not show up until 11:30 AM and then stopped at 2 PM. On Saturday, they also stained the shoe molding which caused an almost unbearable odor in the home. On Monday, they came again to finish - arriving later in the morning. When they left it was without cleaning the floor or the area where they had thrown discarded wood. It took me over three hours to get the area clean enough to begin to sweep and clean the floors so we could move furniture back in the rooms. The trim moldings did not come in until after Christmas. We were made aware of this prior to ordering. At this point I informed the owner that the 2 installers that had been in my home prior to Christmas would not be allowed to return. He sent another installer to install the threshold moldings. The first set were not all correct, so they had to return them and reorder. The job was completed by the end of January. Like I stated earlier, the issue was not with the owner, the product, product quality of the material or the finished product but two of his installers. Due to their lack of professionalism and the owners lack of concern over their behavior I cannot in good conscience ever recommend this company.
