Seamless from the first phone call to the completed project. Perry and team blew the roof off the joint! In a purely figurative sense, of course. The roof they more like pried off. But then quickly replaced with a brand new one! In addition to a new roof, we also needed some siding repair. Everything was quick, easy, and competitively priced. Great work. Great communication. Great job!

TLDR: Perry has performed numerous projects for us over the years – always with the highest standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail, using the highest quality materials. The full story: Over the past 13 years, Perry has completed a wide variety of projects covering many different facets of construction. When we first solicited proposals for our initial project (roofing, chimney, siding & window replacement) he was the only contractor who provided a detailed estimate that included a line-item breakdown and pricing of each of the materials, along with various options, providing a flexible range of packages. During the construction phase, he and his crew were meticulous and professional in their execution the work. Our neighbors were so impressed that, over the years, he has worked on six of the ten houses on our block. Perry has replaced our chimney, roofing, siding (including Dow ½” insulation panels), windows, gutters, downspouts, soffit, shutters, storm doors and, most recently, our front door. This most recent project – front door replacement - involved some unforeseen site conditions that altered the scope of work considerably. Our doorway is recessed and sits within the rectangle frame of the house. There is a front step that comes out flush to the perimeter. Removal of the old door’s threshold revealed that the seemingly solid front step had a big hole, exposing the subflooring to water runoff and causing the beams to rot. Perry and crew had to replace the beams in that portion of the subflooring, rebuild the front step, glaze and seal the surface of the step. In addition, upon removal the old door, it became apparent that the house had settled to where the doorframe space was no longer at a perfect 90° angle. Using his old-world craftsmanship, Perry carefully reframed the door so that it now hangs perfectly. We can’t say enough about Perry’s work. He is truly a throwback to an earlier era of professional tradesman. Any time that someone in our community asks for the name of a reputable contractor we unhesitatingly recommend Built2Last Contracting.

It rained heavily last night - a steady downpour. But thanks to B2L's thorough gutter cleaning my downspouts drained the water perfectly away from the house. In fact, we've had a couple of rainstorms since the cleaning several weeks ago (17June2022) and the gutters/downspouts all worked beautifully. There was a gutter clogging problem in front of my house that another company failed to rectify, but B2L was able to fix it. Thanks again B2L!

He is very professional. Work well done and prices were great.

I checked the gutters after a rain storm and the water was coming over the tops of the gutters. I called Perry and he was supposed to get back to me. He didn't. I called again and he returned the call this time. I tried to explain how the water was coming over the tops of the gutters because the worker must have leaned his ladder on my hanging gutters and knocked them out of line. Perry said he didn't know what I was talking about. He was the one who told me about not putting a ladder onto the gutter (the first time he cleaned them) and now he is saying he doesn't know what I'm talking about. He wasn't very nice about it either (a bad day?). Anyway I am still waiting for him to remedy the situation. I don't know if the gutters were actually cleaned since the overflow comes from the downspouts as well as the rest of the gutters. I would hire him again if he fixes this job (although he did raise his price over $30)

Setup was easy. Serviceman arrived early. Finished with no problems. I will need to wait for next heavy rain to see if gutters have been unclogged.

We had our gutters cleaned and our gutter guards cleaned and replaced. They were able to clean and reuse most of our gutter guards, some of which were quite full of debris. The price quoted by phone was the same price we were charged.

I called and they got to my home in two hours! They did a great job.

Perry Schmidt came to give me a quote. He appeared to be very smart and he got up on the roof and went up in the attic to inspect from the inside. He called me up into the attic and turned out the lights. He said to notice how dark it was along the eaves of the roof. He said something is wrong. Next he went out on my deck and asked for a toothpick. He stuck it in Soffit vent holes and hit wood 1/2 inch in. The vented Soffit had been installed over solid wood by a previous contractor wrecking the normal attic ventilation. He was the only one of 4 contractors who quoted the job to find the problem. He fixed the problem during the roof installation. The roofing crew was very knowledgible and did an outstanding job. I couldn't be happier. This is a terrific company.

Project went well

Everything went very well. They responded to my request for quote quickly and quoted a reasonable price. They showed up to do the work on the day and time they said they would. While up on the roof, Perry found some other things that needed attention. He took a picture of the problem areas so I could see the problems without going up on the roof. He quoted a reasonable price to fix the problems and took care of everything while they were here.

All went well, downspout now drains properly.

Perry is good in responding and did quality work for a fair price.

When we were finally able to get a time good for both of us, it was great. He cleaned the debris from the roof of the addition (it needed it). I am planning to hire him again.
