From the estimate to the completion of the installation everyone on the Burke & Sons team was very informative & professional. Answered all my questions & responded in timely fashion. Overall very satisfied with experience.

Jim came right away to evaluate the problem and we discussed the issue I was having. Others who had looked at the system said it would cost thousands to replace the new system installed a little over 3 years ago. He was very honest and made some fixes to get the system pushing out cold air. We are hoping the fix takes care of the problem permanently. I would definitely call Jim Burke again for any issues within his expertise.

On Sunday, July 1, our Central Air unit stopped working. I panicked because we were in a heat wave. My wife is 67 and I am 70. For the first time in my life I went to Angie’s list and asked for help. Before I could even shut off the computer, the phone rang. The caller was Burke Plumbing & Heating. The caller said that they could come down and check it. I agreed and they came down and soon discovered that the compressor was dead. I have the unit that takes R22 refrigerant, which is not made anymore. I was told that Burke bought up a lot of the no longer manufactured units and had only two left. Said he would simply replace the compressor unit outside for $5800.00. He said that if I wanted the new refrigerant unit installed completely, it would cost me $13,500.00. I am on a fixed income. I opted for the R22 nit and signed a paper and gave a $1,000.00 deposit by check. After going over my finances, I discovered that there was no way I could have the job done. On Monday, July 2, I contacted Burke Plumbing and notified them that the job had to be canceled. Person told me that he understood and would shred the check, but he had to contact his boss. I got a callback stating that the job was canceled, but because they had to come down and then have an R22 unit taken out of storage and then have it returned. I owed them $225.00. I told the caller that $225.00 was a big hit. He said that there was nothing he could do because they did come down and explained about the unit again. I made out a check for $225.00 and mailed it. Also, feeling more than a bit concerned about the company, I placed a stop payment on the $1,000.00 check. The unit is a 2 1/2 ton for a 4 room ranch. The fee that Burke charged has been bothering my wife and me. Were we ripped-off? (THIS IS NOT A SILA REVIEW, IT IS A BURKE HEATING & PLUMBING REVIEW)

PEOPLE BE CAREFUL WITH THIS GUY!! I WAS QUOTED OVER PHONE 125.00 FOR LABOR PLUS COST OF R22 REFRIGERANT. HE SHOWED UP PUT GUAGES ON UNIT AND TOPPED OFF R22. $$$$$$$$ AND CHARGED ME 225.00 FOR LABOR $$$$$$ WAS AT MY HOUSE FOR 20 MIN. OF WORK. INVOICE WAS 225.00 FOR LABOR AND 129.00 FOR REFRIDGERANT. AFTER LOOKING AT REVIEWS IT LOOKS LIKE I WASNT THE ONLY CUSTOMER TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. SHAME ON YOU JIM !! I BELIEVE IN KARMA!! WHAT COMES AROUND GO AROUND!!

We did some construction downstairs in my basement and I had to get my baseboard heating replaced.

Work was completed quickly and pump has worked without issue since

responded very quickly. Told me that this was a "very expensive" piece of equipment right up front. They replaced the motor and after they left, the unit stopped working again and I also smelled gas. I called them back and the serviceman responded very quickly. "Fixed" the issue and said "yeah, there was a small leak where the connection wasn't tightened enough". (!) Now working fine.

They were wonderful.  I did get quotes from Angie's List, but I was much happier with Burke & Son's proposal.  They cleaned up after themselves.  The workers were wonderful and pleasant.  A lot of communication going back and forth. 

They are very confident and arrived at the time promised.

Excellent service! Immediately picked up the phone and scheduled a service same day! Dave was so professional, he came with his helper. They were very nice and easy to deal with. I usually feel uncomfortable since plumbers charge based on the hours they spent. They worked as a team did not waste time. I highly recommend them. Shah <br />

I'm guessing that it wasn't real complicated but the plumber was terrific - knowledgeable, neat, and polite.

They were by the next day and fixed the leak and took care of a few other things at the same time.

The very next day all the other tenants of the apartments in the building were complaining they had no heat. Right now there are two apartments in this multi-family house and they have gone out 3 times and have given me multiple excuses to why it isn't fixed. They claimed that one reason it couldn't be fixed was that someone installed a new thermostat and there has been no such installation. It would make no sense for me to do that. The are two apartments with NO HEAT! After paying them what I did, I would expect our issues to be resolved. Now I have to call someone else to come and actually fix the issue.

Last minute request to move toilet and sink from bathroom so new floors could be installed. <br /> Plumber showed up on time and did the moving. and came in the next day and moved things back in and replaced rusty bolts etc.It may not sound like much but I was very grateful to this company for coming out and doing a quick job. <br /> He was very pleasant and explained things but got the job done and didn't linger. <br /> Very professional and courteous. <br /> Will use again for more complicated jobs. <br />
