Butler Water Systems

I could not be more pleased!!!!!!!!! First of all they go beyond the state of professionalism. The salesman came to do interview on a broken ankle!!!!! Then even with all this snow, they kept the appt to install and arrived on time today to install and of all that I priced Butler water system cut their cost in half!!!!!!!!!! The installer was professional, safe and quick. I will never use anyone other than Butler Water Systems to take care of my water filtration needs. They exceeded my expectation!

It went great. No problems.

They came out, installed the complete the water system and they offer to install a faucet as well . After a month they installed the faucet. I love everything about this company. They guy that came out was very good, I could not asked for more. Art the owner of the company, loved his job, you can tell. I am very satisfied with the product itself.

I have known them for many many years and I am always satisfied with them. They are very knowledgeable about their units.

Water softener was hooked up incorrectly. Did not clean resin bed when regenerated. The automatic softener was programmed incorrectly at factory. Service representive was out 4 times in 1 mo after installation.

Jeff, the technician, arrived promptly and was coureous and professional. He performed the required maintenance and also went the extra step to inform us that we needed to replace our tank as it was close to creating a real problem. We appreciated that he went beyond what was required of him and fixed the problem before it occurred! Butler keeps us informed of the required maintenance due so that our water quality remains excellent. We highly recommend them.

This went well.  He was early for the appointment, which was good in our situation.  He determined the issue within a few minutes and ended up re-calibrating our salt intake dial along with replacing some of the old valves which were causing an issue treating the water.  It is about a week later and my water has never looked clearer or tasted better!

We knew we had had our water softener long enough we should have the resin beads replaced, so called Butler Water Systems, since they did the original install.  We were quoted $300 and advise to have the valve replaced for an additional $100.  We agreed to the additional work and scheduled the service for the following week. <br /> The tech arrived from Butler on time. He asked about coming through the garage.  I told him he could, but showed him there was a car parked by the door that did not give a lot of clearance.  I commented that if anyone had asked about,the garage when scheduling the appointment, we could have shuffled the cars so that the space by the door was empty.  He said it was not a problem to use the front door. <br /> During the job he asked if I could assist by holding the funnel for him, which I did.  (I am not sure how professional this is, but I was available, so I did assist.)  This prevented any spilling while he was pouring in the little beads and the sandy material.  However, after he left I noticed he did not clean up the beads that escaped the open cardboard box he had carried them in.  <br /> When he was done, he presented a bill for $784.37. That is 96% more than we were told it would be - almost double!!  I told him we were quoted $400.  He made a phone call to the office to check on this, and when asked what he did, he told them he replaced the resin and rebuilt the valve (which is what the invoice says).  He then told me they said they could take off $100.  That is still $684.37 - still a LOT more than we had been quoted. <br /> At no time during the job was I informed of any issues (there were none that I know of), or that the price of the job would be almost double what we had been quoted. <br />

Install went very well. Matt did the install and he was meticulous about the work and very neat. Very knowledgeable and went over every detail with me.

They were great!  He was on time, courteous and gave me a great deal when purchasing a new water softener.

Bret Abner was very knowledgeable, professional and professional. We met Bret more than a year ago and when we finally called him to have him come and present the product to us he obliged with no problem or hesitation. He showed us every option and was very up front and seemingly honest in reference to the product and the expected outcomes. We were very pleased with him and therefore the product. Bret KNOWS his stuff!! <br />

Went very smoothly. Courteous serviceman and he cleaned up after himself. Salesperson was knowledgeable. <br />

The installation and responsiveness was very professional.  The installer, Danny, took time to use all copper/brass fittings since that is what our piping is.  He took pride in doing an exceptional job.  After a few days, we noticed the water had an off odor to it.  I couldn't pick up the smell, but my wife could.  We asked about it and Butler quickly came out and brought an replacement resin tank to see if that would address it.  It didn't.  They brought ANOTHER resin tank out. This time, without the carbon filtering media.  We still had the odor.  It was strong enough that my wife couldn't drink it, make coffee with it, etc. <br /> All of the customer service and response time by Sue, the office scheduler, and the installation/troubleshooting team was exceptional. <br /> Since we could not seem to correct the issue regardless of what was tried, I contacted another supplier of water softeners and had them come and install a unit.  The smell was gone.  The water was soft.  I can only assume it was a bad batch of resin...or a unique composite that my wife could detect.  <br /> This is where the story changes: I contacted Butler to tell them we had replaced their unit and why.  I asked them to come pick up their unit and to refund $1100.  I didn't request a complete refund since I knew they had incurred expenses with the replacement resin tanks. I kept calling Sue asking if they were going to accept my offer.  She assured me that the owner, Art Friedrich, would call me back.  I then called/emailed every 3-4 days for the next month.  I was told that Art was: In a meeting, not available, on a conference call, in Columbus in a meeting, etc.  I gave up.  On 7/29/14, I contacted Angie's List to get help. The folks at Angie's List were outstanding.  On 7/30/14, the day Angie's List contacted Butler Water Systems, Art called me to apologize for "letting things slip through the cracks."  <br /> He said my request for a refund of $1100 was very reasonable and that he would have Sue call to schedule a time for picking up the unit.  That happened the next day, 7/31.  However, you guessed it, NO REFUND.  :-( <br /> I called the office and spoke to Sue on 8/12/14.  She was shocked to learn that I had not received the check since she has prepared it for Art's signature on 7/31.  She promised to check on it and call me back.  She did within the hour, to tell me that Mrs. Friedrich had secured a Cashier's Check and she was going to drive across town NOW to bring it to me.  She did. <br /> My summary: The staff of Butler Water Systems is professional and responsive.  They know their business well. However, the owner is clearly lacking in professionalism and responding to the requests of customers.  I hope this review is helpful for both prospective clients AND Butler Water Systems. <br />

All in all ZERO complaints, only praise. <br /> We spoke to both Art and Kevin about the installation of our new water refinement system. Art came out to our home and determined that we should bypass our outside water faucets otherwise watering our yard (or washing our cars) would be an unnecessary strain on the system and eat up salt too quickly. <br /> Kevin came back out to our home with brochures and information about the different choices in systems that we could make. We decided on the system that we wanted and he priced out the cost of the system and install along with cost for installing the extra piping to bypass our outside water faucets. <br /> On the scheduled date the installer arrived on time, was courteous and knowledgeable of what he was installing. Took approx. 4 hours to install the softener and filter system and install 100ft+ of bypass piping. We started with a water hardness around 23 grains, but by the time the installer left it was as Zero grains. Even with all the extra work the installer had to do, you can't tell anything extra was installed. His work was that clean. <br /> Kevin came back out to our home 1 week later for a follow up visit and to retest our water again. Water was still perfectly softened and no issues at all. <br /> I have nothing but praise for Butler Water Systems. I will be a customer for life and I have already recommended them to a couple neighbors. <br />

We had been dealing with hard water for several years, and my significant other noticed it to really aggravate her skin because she was used to having soft water growing up.  After calling Butler Water Systems, they came out and tested our water and recommended the best soft water conditioner for our family.  Not only did they do a professional job, Bret Abner educated our family about key chemicals and other potential contaminants that we are no longer bathing in.  <br /> I would highly recommend Butler Water Systems if you want to have better water quality in your home.  -Joe Tekulve <br />

I found the entire process to be a pleasant one.   The salesman did not pressure us to make a decision or to purchase a given system.  He simply provided us with the information we requested and allowed us to decide if we wanted to purchase and which system we wanted.   The installation was smooth and fast.  The installer cleaned up after himself.   The salesman made a follow up visit a few weeks after the installation to make sure everything was operating properly. <br />

WE RECENTLY MOVED TO THE CINCINNATI AREA AND BROUGHT WITH US OUR WATER SOFTENER SYSTEM AS WELL AS A REVERSE OSMOSIS DRINKING WATER SYSTEM. AFTER CONTACTING SEVERAL FIRMS IN THE CINCINNATI. AREA, WE DECIDED TO HAVE BUTLER SYSTEMS DO THE WORK. THE TECHNICIAN WAS EXCEPTIONALLY POLITE AND COMPETENT. THE PRICING SEEMED FAIR (THE JOB REQUIRED FOUR HOURS FOR TOTAL INSTALLATION - PLUS PARTS). THE FIRM SEEMS TO BE VERY SERVICE ORIENTED. WE WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM FOR ROUTINE SERVICE; I.E., SALT DELIVERY, ETC.
