I recently had Calfo out to repair two small gas leaks in my basement. Due to several circumstances this needed to be repaired ASAP. The office staff was great for getting us on the schedule immediately and waiving the $150 emergency call. However, after talking to 3 different plumbers for other work I need done, they have said I was overcharged north of $3,000 for the recent work. This was a bigger job so of course it was expensive, but frankly I'm really disappointed it was more expensive than it needed to be.

I hired this company last August to do some maintenance on my central air unit. There was a leak at the suction line, draining my Freon empty. Stephen Derrick came and did the work on the line. “Fixing” the leak. Fast forward to this summer, turn on my unit and it’s not blowing cool air. I decided to get a diagnostic from a different company and my Freon is empty again! He tested the line and the leak is in the exact same spot from the year before where Calfo “fixed” it. Calfo says they don’t guarantee their work and they will charge me full price AGAIN to fix their work. The manager wouldn’t even call me back to discuss this. This cost me $800.

I can't say much about the service. They were quick and they were very professional. They work neat and clean, and didn't leave any rubbish behind after the work. They work everything that they were going to do, explained the unit the thermostat that was going to be used. They were very good. They have a quick response service, their pricing was reasonable.

It was very positive, they have a communication mechanism in place to send out text messages and emails promptly for upcoming events. They are very professional, very courteous, polite, they did a really good job, they cleaned up afterwards and they were good with installation, very positive experience and I had questions and they were very promptly responded top my inquiries.

I was satisfied with the work, they replaced the unit in due time, and it seems to be working fine. I had an inspection and they found a crack on the heat exchanger and Calfo Mechanical Contractors replaced the whole furnace and it was great.

The whole process from scheduling to service was great. They were at my house in less than 24 hours and were a little early. The tech, Ed, called and texted when he was on his way. We got a text with his picture before he arrived. They confirmed via email and text message with numbers to call to change or cancel. The price for the service call was lower than average for this area and he did the work quickly without trying to sell us anything. He actually told us our unit was working at nearly new efficiency and needed nothing other than some cleaning.

The tech was prompt and right on time. I explained the issue to him as I showed him to the furnace. He explained that he would look at it and let me know. Maybe 20 minutes later he came upstairs and told me the induction motor was band and needed replaced. I inquired as to the cost. He said he's need to go to the truck, look it up, and make some calls. He said he'd be cack and let me know of the cost. When he came back in he told me approximately $950.00. I explained about the age of the furnace and I feared that it would be money wasted. I inquired about the condition of the rest of the furnace. He told me he couldn't tell anything until he replaced the induction blower. I again explained my hesitancy as to the cost. He told me that if the furnace were bad after replacing this non-returnable part that they would give me that off a new furnace that could be there the next day. I explained that I predominantly heated with wood and was in no hurry even if it were bad. He replaced the induction blower and came up after a bit explaining now that the heat exchanger was bad. He again told me that he could have a new unit here tomorrow. I again explained my not having a need to have a new furnace the following day. The bill came to $963 and change. I called another listed company off Angies list, this time with an A rating. This time the technician arrived and I explained the problem to him as I showed him the furnace. I didn't explain the other diagnosis as I wanted it to be fair. Within 5 minutes and with never turning on the furnace this tech showed me a picture of the heat exchanger and told me that it was bad. He also explained what he was showing me. At that point I explained the experience with Calfo, no mention of the business name to the tech though as there was no need. He said maybe someone with no experience would proceed that way but given the age of the furnace though it wasn't the way he would do it. I will never use Calfo. I apologize for the long post.

I scheduled for them to come out to my house three different occasions and they never showed and never called. When they did finally show up, I told them about a clanking in my furnace, they said it was because the house is old. I asked them to install a humidifier on my furnace and told me they would call to schedule a time. Three days later I called and was told they would have someone contact me in the morning. I wasn't called for another week, so I had another company come install the humidifier. The other company told me there was a crack in my furnace and that is what is causing the furnace to make the noise. They also stated the furnace wasn't cleaned and that the furnace could stop working and leave us with no heat. I will never use this company again. I don't recommend anyone else to use them either.

Calfo Contracting in my opinion were very professional. They showed up on time and unclogged the drain promptly. Mr. Calfo in fact ran over 75 feet of snake and cleaned out the whole drain line. After doing so he informed me of things I should be doing to prevent this from happening again.

He then informed me that while in the laundry room he noticed that my furnace was not running properly! While his fellow employee cleaned up Mr. Calfo pointed out that I needed to clean my furnace. He showed me that the color of the flame was not proper and then cleaned and showed me how to keep my furnace clean....and he did not charge me for this.

I would not hesitate to call Calfo Contracting in the future.

Was here at the time he told me. He listened to what was going on and snaked the toilet until he got the block loosened. He also went up to the main trap and snaked it which there was another block.
He did an excellent job
We hired this company to install a roof top A/C unit for our office building. The workers were in their early twenties. The price was low, but they did a very poor job. After installing the unit, they did not flash the roof correctly, that's why it started leaking. We had a lot of water damage. It was very difficult to reach Tim Calfo, the owner. He seemed to be very busy, always somewhere out of town. Every time i could get a hold of him, he promissed to come around lunch and finish the job. But he was always late or did not show up at all. Once we made the 1st part of the payment, he disappeared for a while. Very unprofessional attitude. They never finished the job, and caused lots of damage.
