Reviews
Write a ReviewHorrible, Horrible, Horrible! My husband signed a contract with the Jason 4 months ago. The job was for pavers around our pool. We have paid him $25,0000 and he bailed! I have never experienced such a horrible situation like this ever before. Jason, himself is so incredibly rude, arrogant and refuses to accept ANY responsibility for anything! Jason, is the master at blaming other people, making excuses, bullying and ripping people off for large amounts of money! There has been no supervision with him on the job site or any other "supervisor". He has had 3 different crews at my house, one of them actually "finished" the pavers.. but the workmanship was so poor it was literally falling apart the next day. Jason continued to make excuses and we had to demand for another crew to start over, 1 MONTH later he finally got around to sending his 3rd crew out. HOWEVER, the second time around the work is still a disaster. The base of the pavers is 1 inch of gravel and 1 inch of sand.... when 4 inches of gravel is industry standard. They have left a complete wreck in my backyard. Jason refuses to fix it and has basically walked off the job. He threatens with "liens" when he has no idea what the California laws are. I discovered 3 complaints against this company within the last 6 months on the BBB website. It appears his google reviews are all fake, they have the same generic review with most of then being their only review. It appears his contractors license is just about 1 year old. We are forced to take legal action due to his inability to perform at a decent level within a reasonable amount of time. It's Unbelievable he has taken $25K and ran away from this issue. You have been warned!
Jason and his team did an amazing job from start to finish on our new pool in Elk Grove. I could not be happier with the outcome and the communication throughout the process. Thanks again to everyone at Five Star Custom Pools!!
If our rating was based solely on the end product, it would be somewhere between three and four stars. However, based on the experience of getting to the end product, two stars may be generous. Jason assured us the job would be complete by May 5. As we were soon to learn, Jason overpromises and underdelivers. It was finally completed on June 20. Nothing comes easily with Jason. He often fails to respond to texts and voicemails. Rarely did we got a response without first having to follow up. The one thing he is really prompt at is requesting payment at various stages of the job. We are happy with the end product but it is not perfect. When applying the plaster, they plastered over the wall fitting for our Polaris pool cleaner, rendering it useless. Fortunately, I had withheld a portion of the final payment and we agreed that, rather than paying him, I would use that amount to purchase a robotic pool cleaner. We subsequently learned that they failed to perform the final step on plastering which is to expose the quartz/aggregate. The only way to do this now is to drain the pool, acid wash the plaster and refill. Some day, perhaps. When filled, it was quickly evident that the pool had a significant leak. Jason promised me that someone would be here on Thursday to find and fix the leak. When he finally arrived the following Sunday, Rob - who is a great guy - quickly found and repaired the leak. Hats off to him! Not so much for Jason and another of his many unfulfilled promises. It took over two weeks (and countless follow ups) for him to get someone out here to repair the section of pool deck they damaged when doing demolition.
This is a very inaccurate review. Richard had many requests in the middle of the project, like, for example, he went on vacation unannounced in the middle of the project and asked us not to be on premises when they were gone and caused us to move things around on the schedule that prolonged the completion of the job. There are always two sides to the story. At the end of the day, we went far beyond the scope of work. We even repaired the concrete around his skimmer that was cracked prior to us starting. He was very appreciative of that. We delivered a very nice final product and I will send photos of the project before.
Scheduled and performed work as promised. Great communication throughout the project.
Had a great experience with a super nice guy named Jason. Very professional and easy to talk to. He kept in contact throughout the whole process and Iâ  m very happy with my pool. My kids and I use it all the time
The manager Jason was easy to work along with Marco with resolving issues that arose. Iâ m happy with the overall project and I would recommend anyone who is thinking about resurfacing their pool.
