Rob came highly recommended by a reputable roofing contractor that praised his attention to detail, trustworthiness and professional approach to business. I reached out for a quote on insulation work and he came out very quickly thereafter to walk through my house with me. After knocking out the first couple things on my insulation to-do list (replacement windows, weatherstripping door), I can confirm that his work is fantastic and he's incredibly reliable. Rob treated my house like his own and did a great job. If you're looking for a contractor that you can trust, Rob is your guy!

Rob Calnan has replaced 2/3rds of the windows in our house, and I only wish I’d known about him when I had the first third done. He’s replaced doors, trim, and siding as well. His work is always tidy and it’s nearly impossible to tell that something was replaced. He does a great job on our quirky older house. We’ve had him come back for multiple projects because he’s such a joy to work with. I picked Rob because he sounded like a man who knew doors six ways to Sunday, and he did not disappoint. Rob shows up when he says he will, and communicates if he won’t be able to come. He’s on top of paperwork and follows up with me if I don’t follow up with him. He’ll add on extra little carpentry jobs for us, and has given me good advice about things outside his scope. He’ll come for relatively small jobs. He does not ask me if I need to double-check with my husband. The closest thing I have to a complaint is that he often gives me very short notice for when he’ll be able to come, but I suspect that if I asked for more lead time he would be able to accommodate.

Absolutely HANDS DOWN - we had THE best experience with Calnan's Energy Systems! I'd reached out to two other insulation companies to get quotes to have the walls of our 1940's Cape insulated -- one company never got back to me, and the other came out to measure quickly but I had to chase down their prohibitively-high quote call after call, for a couple weeks. Rob Calnan came out promptly, took the measurements and explained the process and the materials used. He kept in touch, keeping us updated on the status of the building permit, when our work would start (no small feat during this mostly-rainy summer!), and was here as the insulation was going in. Rob and his sons were very professional, personable and knew their job! Trust, on-time, reliable, professional, and friendly are all words that I'd use to describe the entire crew at Calnan's Energy Systems. Our project took only two days, and at the end you couldn't find a single paint chip on the ground, nor any disruption at all. We live on a moderately-busy road, and we can tell in the noise level, that the insulation is already having a positive impact. We can't wait to see how much energy we can save this winter during the cold weather! I would not hesitate to call Rob (and only Rob) to insulate our attic next!

Rob and his team are amazing to work with. They will go above and beyond to ensure that the work is of highest quality. The insulation job on my 70 year old house was complicated. Rob had to co-ordinate with roofers (i was also changing my roof), HVAC team and cleaners (mess from a previous job) to appropriately insulate my home. He was also able to get me a good rate on the HVAC work. He and his team are very considerate and ensured that I was fully satisfied. When issues came up, they would clearly and quickly communicate and help identify a cost effective solution. They are amazing at what they do and I can clearly see a difference in my home comfort level and not a moment too soon. For quality work, one does not have to look beyond Calnan Energy systems.

From the first meeting. Rob was knowledgeable on the type of doors and windows I needed. And the additional work involved. Thru the process of install they discovered rotted wood which they replaced without hesitation and came in within the budget. Great team of workers.

Calnan Energy promptly gave me an estimate to replace our damaged bulkhead. They were professional, punctual and very patient explaining the process. Very quick response getting the estimate and getting my job done. It's a family owned and run company - could not have been any nicer and did a meticulous job installing my new bulkhead. The price was very competitive.

Rob and his crew were amazing in every possible way. They took the time to understand what I was trying to accomplish beyond replacing my windows and doors, and the final product shows. The work they did was impeccable, and they were very thoughtful, considerate and professional throughout. I can't say enough good things about them and the work they do. We needed to insulate a section of our attic to prevent ice dams. We met with the owner, Rob Calnan, who was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We received a quote that was reasonable and once we decided to use this company, they were able to schedule the work in a short period of time. They came as planned, on time, were professional, polite, neat and clean. They completed the job on schedule. We were very pleased with their work. We don't actually know if it was successful yet, because we have not had enough snow to cause ice dams. We will have to wait to see if the insulation has solved the problem.

Rob was a great communicator and his promptness and knowledge were one of the main reasons we went with him over a slightly lower estimate we got. His sons did a good job of doing the work we required, which was messy work, and they left the place in pretty good shape with just some leftover bits of insulation here and there. If I have any additional insulation needs, Calnan would be my first call.

Excellently, superbly, wonderfully, and without a speck of grief. What a performance by Calnan Energy. I am 75 years old, and a homeowner since 1978. I have never experienced such an efficient and trouble free experience with a contractor. What a supreme job done by Calnan replacing my bathroom window. If you need a contractor, take my advice and hire Calnan Energy.

The experience working with Robert and his company was great overall. Robert was very responsive, informative, and worked hard to get the job done. As far as service and price goes, 5 stars. I put 4 stars overall only because the new insulation did not totally solve the problem we were having, which was one bedroom in our house which was constantly cold. It's definitely better, but not as good as we hoped. This is not Calnan's fault, they performed the work as asked, just that clearly the problem lies elsewhere. I would still use them again.

Rob Calnan was recommended by a neighbor. I thank her every time I see her! I met Rob a month ago and he insulated my basement last week with closed cell spray foam. He has every quality you would want in a contractor and more. He is a perfectionist and a great communicator, you will never be in the dark about anything! He is also a great human being, I am glad to have Rob in my contacts going forward. He also recommended a great finish carpenter to complete my basement project. I'm in good company and good hands!

I hired Rob to add insulation to my attic. He and his team were extremely professional and thorough. The work was done in a timely manner and completed as promised. I would hire him again.

The roofing company we hired to reshingle our roof suggested that we consider upgrading the attic insulation, and recommended Rob Calnan. Rob came by the day we called him. He was very attentive to our schedule, and went out of his way to fit us in, and through the entire process was readily available and responsive both to cell phone and email. The work took five days, and after each day we received a call about how things went, and what would be done the next working day. This is a family business. Several of his employees are his own children. He takes great pride in the quality of the work that they do under difficult work conditions, squeezing up through narrow openings into cramped, dark attics with little headroom. Rob was very knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about sharing his storehouse of knowledge about insulation. He educated us. He has been actively involved in developing standards in the insulation industry. Three months after the job was completed, when we emailed on the eve of solar panel installation to ask about whether the solar installers should know anything about the insulation, he responded immediately, and said that the solar installers should call him with any questions. We are very impressed by his commitment to his work. The insulation has made the house noticeably cooler.

My husband and I hired Rob to replace our front door, which had failed due to water leakage into the frame... and we are so glad that we did! He and his sons were extremely detail-oriented, thorough, and professional; every step of the process was explained/shown to me, and the end result looks and functions great. As Rob will tell you himself, he is likely not the absolute cheapest option out there. However, I was looking for someone who was communicative, professional, and most importantly, takes pride in his work... and he proved to me that he was all of those things. We will definitely use Calnan's Energy Systems Inc for other jobs in the near future... highly recommend!

Rob and his team are the very best! Over many years they've insulated a small room in our basement that used to have an oil tank, now used for a wine cellar. More recently, helped with our storm doors, winter and summer panels. And in 2020 new insulation blown in from roof down through our full basement, 4 levels. Our 1893 boarding house is now tight and sound. The gas company earlier in Jan. 2021 sent, along with our bill, a rating that we are 14% below "your most efficient neighbors" (100 in surrounding area) for gas usage. Our toilet no longer freezes in cold weather. You will not go wrong with Calnan's Energy Systems. They come on time, work hard, and were always masked. Professionals and all very nice guys. In estimating the project, Rob Calnan was very detailed and professional and immediately responsive to my questions. The door had to be ordered to custom dimensions and he was communicative about the delivery schedule. He and his crew did a careful, thoughtful job in installing the door. His estimate was accurate and we are happy with the work he did.

Had a great experience with Calnan Energy Systems. On our first call Rob was very generous with his time and expertise. Our job was a little nontraditional; we have an unfinished basement that we're using for a workout space, but wanted to prevent the debris fiberglass batts in the ceiling from getting into the air. The solution was to use Tyvek to seal up the ceiling. A bit of an oddball job, but I understand they've done this many times. Rob's and his crew were a pleasure to work with and did a very professional and clean job. If I have any other insulation-related jobs they'll be my first call.

We had a terrific experience with Calnan Energy Systems. Rob was an invaluable resource as we sought out insulation contractors and performed a full insulation upgrade on an old Victorian during a major renovation. Rob enrolled us in an energy savings program, performed the preliminary energy audit, and guided us on what to look for in a top notch local insulation company (since he was unavailable to do the work himself). Once the wall insulation work was completed his team arrived to seal our basement perimeter and openings from the basement to the interior. Rob's crew was professional, thoughtful, and efficient. They slipped in, got the work done, and cleaned up perfectly. And after the final assessment was completed it turns out that the energy program will benefit us enormously. Mr. Calnan and his crew did a great job upgrading our attic insulation, which involved several different tasks. Everything was clearly explained to us. The workers showed up promptly, everyone was friendly and polite, and they took great care to clean up after themselves. Recommended without reservation.
