While the initial work seemed to be fine, two years out, the driveway looks like it is 15 years old, flaking and chipping away. No ice melt was used the first year and only ice melt recommended by Cameron was used this past winter. Many attempts to contact Cameron Concrete have yielded no response, letters, phone calls, texts, all unanswered. I tried to save a few thousand dollars by going with Cameron instead of a company I had used before. What a huge mistake that was. I would just like to be able to interact with the owner to seek possible answers to this problem.

Paid the man and afterward found several things had not been done. A brick was taken out of a low wall and not replaced, wall was cracked. Hole was punched in drain pipe next to sidewalk and not patched. crack on old concrete was not patched. It was several months ago and I finally hired someone else to patch the drain pipe as I feared it would cause backup of mud in drain. The other things are left undone.

Rick Cameron and his crew did a great job. The work was done on schedule and at the agreed price. I was surprised that they were able to remove the old concrete without jack hammering using their mini backhoe. Rick was able to re-contour the driveway surface in front of the door to permit cars to enter and exit the garage without scraping as they had done before. The exposed aggregate surfaces are exactly what we had wanted. We were able to go through the following winter without using any ice melter on driveway or walks.

Overall, well. They did what they promised and we were able to work through unexpected issues easily. The crew is a bit noisy and works better when Rick is there. They do understand concrete and our driveway (a very big project) is the talk of the neighborhood. Ran into an issue where the driveway connects to a detached garage and Rick's solution was a good one, completing the job. Nice job sloping the concrete to move water away from the house.

1. By 01/04/2016 the apron had already cracked from the house to the existing driveway, across the 32 inch width of the new apron. I advised Rick Cameron so he would not think the crack was the result of a particularly hard winter. I told him that when summer came, it needed to be replaced. 2. I said "replaced" because the new apron, as installed, is too high for the garage door to close properly. The door has horizontal sections and the top panel will not come in line with the lower panels. There is more than a 1/2 inch gap from vertical. We began noticing a draft when the cold weather came. I told Mr. Cameron that I was worried that the door slamming down on the concrete was eventually going to damage the door. (As it turns out, that is happening.) 3. The apron, as installed, is also too high for proper drainage of the section of the driveway that fronts the garage door. The water pools in the driveway, can't get to the drain Cameron's workers installed, and in the winter it freezes. It is a safety hazard. 4. By April, a fourth problem has appeared. The section of the driveway that was replaced has a crack across the corner nearest the house. I put all of the above problems in an e-mail to Rick Cameron on 04/20/2016. I told him that he came to the house when the job was begun, but left when his men began working, so he did not see the work in progress or the final product. He had told us, "I always put the garage door down before the concrete sets so I will see if there is a problem." That was not done. I have repeatedly called Cameron Concrete asking for help. He called once, said he would come out and look at the work and talk to me then. He subsequently left a message and said he'd been out and had seen the job and would come out and talk to me about it. He never did. I would imagine I have called his office fifteen or twenty times with no response. I have now written him an e-mail telling him I want a work schedule for the replacement of the concrete work done by Cameron Concrete or a check for $5650. No response. I plan to tell him I have written this complaint. If he takes care of the problem I will advise Angie's List.

Cameron Concrete did an amazing job with our driveway. We are now the envy of the neighborhood. They were very responsive, prompt, reasonably priced and delivered really good quality work in a timely manner. Everything was right on schedule and the end result exceeded our expectations. Our neighbors were also very impressed with the job the crew was doing - they won one other job in the neighborhood during our driveway construction and another neighbor was asking me for their contact information. Next time I need some concrete work done, I know who to call. Highly recommended.
It went very well! I was amazed at how well the grading of the driveway was completed and the speed at which they worked.
The porch looks nice and the driveway makes the appearance of the house much better. Work was completed ahead of schedule.
Very satisfied! Several people driving by gave them compliments on their work! the crew as a whole was outstanding!

I told him I wanted wide steps not skinny old fashioned steps. It was a poor experience, I got what I asked not to get. I felt like I got really bad quality of work for what I paid. I was really dissatisfied.
Response from Cameron Concrete Construction LLC
"In response to this review sorry that you are unhappy with the steps as we strive to please all of our customers. The quality of the job/steps look great. They have a 7 1/4" rise with 12" tread which is a standard size step & meets local building codes & or regulations. They have a standard brush finish & were sealed with cure & seal. The price of 2,200.00 was a very fair price for the removal & replacement of 10 steps.. You paid half at the start of the job & the remainder the day after the job was completed. This indicated to me that you were satisfied with the job & [member name removed] also expressed her approval with the finished project.. Responsiveness we gave you a start date of 6/11/13 & thats when work began. we then finished on schedule 6/12/13. Before we poured the steps [member name removed] gave us her approval to go forward with the job. We had a signed contract prior to the start of the the job which also indicated the price & scope of work which was signed by the [member name removed]. If there was an issue or problem with the price, size, or how the work was completed i wish we would have been notified. I only came to find out when i read this review which was posted a month and a half after the job was completed. I then called the [member name removed] to address any problems that there may have been & to show my concern over the fact that they were unhappy with the work that was completed at their residence. [member name removed] spoke to me & stated that there had been some conflicting opinions between he and[member name removed] about the size of the steps. I was also told by [member name removed] that he was not interested in talking to me about trying to rectify some of his concerns. If[member name removed] had only brought all this to my attention in the beginning perhaps we could have avoided all of this."

I got two estimates and decided to go with Cameron Concrete, even though his bid was not the lowest. Rick impressed me with his professionalism and ideas for the new layout of the sidewalk. He was able to do the work three weeks earlier than originally scheduled. He and his crew showed up on time, did the demolition, and set the forms for pouring the concrete all on the first day.
Rick did not get upset when I requested a few minor changes to the original layout. The concrete was poured and finished, and the job was done professionally. The porch railing had been removed prior to the porch demolition. I was able to sand it and paint it while the rest of the job was completed. Rick's crew was able to reinstall the railing for an additional $200. I am very pleased with the job he did and would hire him again.
It was a very pleasant experience. I was replacing roughly a 100 foot 2 lane gravel (and dirt) driveway with a useless French drain and an aged, un even flag stone sidewalk and ramp connecting the back porch to the driveway. Rick and his crew provided us with a nice wide sideway and a beautiful 105'x18'x5" concrete driveway which drains perfectly into the new French drain at the bottom before the garage.
Rick showed up when he said he would and with the weather permitting, he was able to finish sooner than we expected. Rick told me up front what to expect and provided everything he said he would and communicated with me throughout the project. We discussed burying, under the driveway, conduit, for future use, and a drain from the house gutter. He dug the trench across the driveway for the drain before he left one evening, allowing me to run it that evening, ready for him to bury it the next morning.
He has a great crew, very skilled and hard working and concerned about doing a good job. At the end of the project, before Rick left, he dug the bulk of the drain trench for me along the length of the driveway, saving me a lot of manual digging after he left and allowing me to connect my house drain the new French drain and direct it away from the house and garage.
It's been almost 2 months since he finished the work, I've a numerous, very positive comments about the driveway from both neighbors and contractors that I've had here to estimate other work. I have already recommended Rick to a neighbor and my sister, and I would definitely hire his company again.
Rick is the best, we could not be more pleased with his level of professionalism. From the start he provided a proposal and contract for the work within less than 24 hours. His ability to guide and coach us through a very large and expensive project was invaluable. The team showed up when expected, did the work well and when they did encounter an issue (there was a very small part of the existing concrete that had part of a room under it) Rick provided us with an instant solution and explained exactly why he was doing what he was doing.
The team stayed late to insure the job was finished earlier than expected so we returned from a long weekend (yes we were comfortable enough with this team to leave on vacation while the job was progressing) everything was done.
