On 5/24/2024 we called C& K (we will never call then again) because our over price sump pump we bought from c&k was not working correctly. We bought this sump pump 2 years ago. In Iowa we were in a 2 year drought. On May 24, 2024 our sump pump was only working about 1/3 of the time due to heavy rain. We called c&k to come out to look at the pump, they cut the seal around the top of the unit to raise the led. The problem was that the person that installed the pump did not screw down the ring that goes around the pump. WORKMENSHIP DEFECT SO TO COVER UP THERE ERRORS THEY DID NOT CHARGE FOR LABOR BUT CHARGED US FOR THE "SERVICE CALL" $$$$100 bucks TRIP CHARGE- HERE IS WHAT WAS ON THE INVOICE: "Found check valve came loose and sump pump not operating normally. "Check valve needs reconnected." no charge $100 bucks for there misstake (I am retired) Check this out this is how they will try and RIP YOU OFF I wanted to replace the THERMOSTAT s&k price over $700 bucks THE SAME THERMOSTAT AT LOWES IS $259 BUCKS C&K YOUR """"""FIRED""""""""

"We appreciate your feedback and want to clarify a few details. The sump pump we installed in 2022 operated for 21 months before any issue arose. Our 12-month labor warranty covers workmanship-related concerns within the first year, but after that, failures are usually due to wear or lack of maintenance—something manufacturers also don’t cover. Despite this, our technician covered the labor at no charge. The $100 service call fee was applied because your home is 24 miles from our shop, and we had not performed any ongoing maintenance on the pump. Regarding the thermostat, while big-box stores may sell similar products for less, our pricing includes professional installation, calibration, and an extended warranty—two years longer than a store-bought unit. More importantly, you’re paying for a trained HVAC technician to deliver, install, and ensure the system runs perfectly. The choice is always yours—DIY with a lower-cost product or invest in expert service with guaranteed reliability. We stand by our commitment to quality, transparency, and customer care. TERRIBLE PLACE! Scammed me out of 700 bucks! Hopefully this review helps someone else out there looking to replace a water heater. I filled out an online service request over the weekend for a 40-gallon electric water heater and laundry valves to be replaced, C&K called me Monday with an $1,100 estimate. Wednesday they send out an hvac guy (3:30) and we remove the already drained water heater and wait an hour for the actual plumber guy to show up. The new water heater gets installed, no new laundry valves, which isn't a huge deal but the final price they asked for when it was time to go (5:30) was $1800!! I couldn't believe it and couldn't get an itemized receipt because the technicians said, "their pay app wasn't working" and I couldn't speak to the guy who quoted the $1100 because the office was closed. The 2 technicians at my house said this EXACT THING HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITH THE GUY THAT GAVE ME THE ESTIMATE. I paid the full amount and went into their office Thursday morning to try and figure it all out. Their response was that they don't record outgoing calls so there is no proof and the guy that gave the quote just denied it. And still no receipt of the work done. Home Depot offered the same service for $1399, and I foolishly declined thinking C&K was a better option. Never again! Had planned on replacing our furnace and AC with this company sometime in the fall but that will not be happening. Filed complaint with BBB.

The worked me in a bit early so I could make it to an appointment that came up at the last minute. It was explained as they went along what they were doing. They got done in plenty of time for me to make it to my appointment.

Everything went well. Installation and adaptation to my existing ducts was exactly as I wanted it. The price seemed high, but they were actually the lowest of 3 local bids.

They charged 2/3rds of another local company for the same equipment. The installer was on time, did a good job, kept me informed of progress, cleaned up when he was done, and gave thoughtful answers to my maintenance questions.
