If I could give this company an A+++ I would. From the beginning, the entire job was explained over the phone, very detailed and 100% transparent. No surprises. The work was scheduled immediately an ended up being completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule- which is key when you're entering winter and you need a generator for blackouts in stormy weather. The installers showed up on time on every single occasion. They were quick, reliable, NICE, clean, and steadfast. The management kept me informed by telephone each time they were coming by my property and explained exactly what they were completing that day. The entire job was completed in roughly 8 days including permits. I have also contacted Cape Cod Independent Power post install and they respond 100% of the time in an extremely quick manor. I've been dealing with contractors for over 20 years and this team is one of the best I have ever dealt with. A true pleasure to work with.

CCIP was recommended by Briggs and Stratton to do warranty work on a new generator that was installed by a highly qualified local electrician. He tried to tell me that a failure was the result of an improper installation and that he would have to charge me for the part, which he had brought with him, and the repair. Listening to his explanation and looking at the situation, I was able to prove to him that he was wrong and that the installation was 100% correct. I am not an electrician, but my profession has given me allot of classroom and practical time studying electrical schematics and applications. The CCIP tech was infuriated by my ability to read a wiring diagram and apply it to the installation. He then refused to resolve the remaining problems with the generator and left without charging me for the part or the repair.
Looking back, there are only a few explanations as to why a company would attempt to charge for a generator fix that was absolutely under warranty. CCIP is no longer on the Briggs and Stratton list for installers or support.
I have only good things to say about the good staff Patrick and James and Anthony and Jean in the office. The problem was with the Generac trickle charger for the battery which starts the generator when the power goes off. Patrick tracked the cause of the problem and Anthony fixed it in short order after a small delay in getting a new part. Jean in the office kept me informed and is very pleasant to deal with. This group all seem eager to please.
The installation of the generator was fine and we were very satisfied. After the first year, we paid $275 for an annual maintenance fee which was supposed to cover 2 preventive maintenance visits within 12 months. They came once and changed the oil and spark plugs and never came for the second visit. In march of this year they sent us a letter asking for another $275 for another 12 month maintenance agreement. I spoke to Lester regarding only coming once last year and he agreed to reduce this year's fee to $200 which I promptly paid.
Shortly thereafter, I generator stopped working. It's on year 2 of a 5 year warranty so repairs are covered under warranty. After numerous phone calls, It took over a month for CCIP to come out to see what was wrong with the generator and then another 6 weeks for them to get the small part (which is available at any auto parts store) necessary to repair it.
It's now July and the the annual preventive maintenance that has been fully paid for and was due in March, has not been performed. I have called on the phone several times. When the receptionist answers (which is rare) she tells me that Lester will call me back in a couple of days to schedule the maintenance. When you just get voice mail (which is often), you NEVER get a call back.
I have now asked twice that my $200 annual fee be refunded so that I can find another contractor to do the annual maintenance. I don't want to have to go to small claims court but will if this isn't resolved.
CCIP did a great job installing our generator and I assumed that the ongoing service would be as good. Unfortunately, they apparently have no time to maintain the generators that they've installed. After spending over $7,000 with this company, I expect much better service. I have no confidence that if there was a problem with the generator during a power outage that I would ever get any service from this contractor.
Their website proclaims how they maintain and service what they sell. I regret having believed the hype.

He submitted his price (not an estimate), then upgraded the generator before he installed it - at the original price! He and his two contractors installed a large natural gas generator with no hitches, perfect operation, a detailed demonstration, and complete clean-up. He's serviced the generator annually since then (fourth year now) and it's been wonderful to have!

Because of numerous power outages over the past several years, we wanted a standby generator installed at our home. We requested quotes from 5 different electrical contractors and Cape Cod Independent Power had by far the best proposal. Not only was their price highly competitive, but their service was excellent. CCIP is factory trained in the installation and service of Generac standby generators, considered the finest in residential electric generators. Mr. Wade arrived on the day he promised with his crew and the generator was completely installed and tested within a few hours. I highly recommend CCIP to anyone needing a standby generator.
