Capital Siding Windows & Roofing

Capital was one of four contractors we interviewed. Jeff Moore was very easy to talk with, gave good information, and we felt he was honest and really wanted our business. Once we chose two roof colors we were interested in, Jeff provided us with houses in the area to look at to see how the roofs actually looked on houses. This was very helpful in making our decision. Capital got us on their schedule very quickly. The crew supervisor Azael was fantastic to work with. He explained about a dip in the garage roof and how they would fix it. It was reasonable, inexpensive, and we gave the approval. The crew completed the roof work in two days. They were prompt, friendly, and did a fantastic job of cleaning up. They even came back a few days later and ran the magnetic roller around the house again. Our roof looks great, and we would highly recommend using Capital for your roofing project!

Jeff and Danny were terrific to work with. I first setup an appointment with them to look at my roof and windows. They were very open about my windows and gave me info on how to get them repaired under my warranty instead of just offering their own services. They also helped me along the way to deal with my insurance company which initially denied my claim. I know for a fact that I would not have gotten my roof covered without their help. They were very friendly, down-to-earth, courteous, accommodating, and fast to respond. My entire roof got and skylight got replaced in just one day, and it looks perfect.

I first met Jeff Moore of Capital Siding, Windows and Roofing in 2018.  It was time to reroof my 110+ year-old house (that has more hips and angles than a fashion show) and I wanted to do it right.  I took 5 bids (6 if you count the company that was a no-show) and ended up with a range of bids that varied by nearly $20,000.   Capital came in near the midpoint of the bids but it wasn't the price that sold me - it was the care they put into their bid and the feeling I got from Jeff and, later, his son Danny.  They included more detail than any of the other companies I considered and I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Jeff over the course of a couple of weeks where he answered all of my questions and explained all of my options.  Jeff struck me right from the start as an earnest, straight-up guy who was giving me his best offer.  No posturing, no pressure, just a good offer and a good feeling. Undertaking a major project on my house, my biggest asset, was stressful.  I was worried about everything.  Is this a fair price?  Is this the right company?  Will the crew stay on schedule?  Will they damage the property with their equipment?  Do I have any idea what I am doing?  Ultimately, you have to make a decision and for me, that's usually going with a gut feeling.  My gut said Capital so I signed the contract. Once work got underway, Azael, Jeff's primary crew chief, was on site every day.  He's a great guy, easy to talk to, always with a smile and a laugh.  The crew did their work, cleaned up every day, and kept the materials organized.  Couldn't ask for more.  Jeff and Danny came out several times during the project and we spoke by phone regularly.  Calls were usually returned the same day and always by the next day.  Changes (like my decision to add gutter covers) were handled clearly and easily and there were no financial surprises at all.  They did an excellent job. If I could do it again, would I choose Capital?  Wellllll...yes.  In fact, I did!   In August of 2023, while I was out of town with my family, our house got walloped by the big hail storm that rolled through Minneapolis.  By the time we got home a week later, work had already started on 4 houses on my block.   My first call was to Capital and they came out a day later.  My beautiful roof and old siding had taken major damage.  Danny and one of the roofing crew walked every inch of my roof and took over 100 pictures.  The damage was significant but the integrity of the roof was intact.  Because of the severity of the storm, Jeff was booked until very late in the season so we decided to push it until the spring of 2024.  That turned out to be a good decision as I spent a good portion of the winter arguing with my insurance company.  Every time they sent an adjuster or someone to take pictures or get a materials sample, one of Jeff's team was present.  I finally got things sorted out with insurance, spring arrived, and Oscar, Capital's other crew chief who is just as approachable and friendly and great as Azael, came out with his guys and got going.  They did another beautiful job on the roof and the siding is just fantastic.  They did tons of hand-bent aluminum work to mimic the architectural detail my insurance wouldn't cover.  I think it looks better than it did originally.  My wife and I are completely happy with the work and love with the way our house looks now. Total satisfaction with two excellent jobs six years apart is no fluke. Capital is as solid as they come and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. Everyone that we dealt with at Capital Siding, Windows, and Roofing was professional, competent, and caring. Our project had some complications due to hidden damage. The crews for Capital found effective solutions and communicated the options and costs well. All were capable and trustworthy, completing the project when they said they would and in the manner that they promised. We were very happy with our choice to hire them and the work that they performed.

This is the 3rd time we worked with Capital Siding Windows and Roofing and once again they were outstanding! The work was once again high quality work with courteous workers and good cleanup.

Ill give a little backstory. This was our first experience with storm damage and dealing with the Insurance claim nightmare. Capitol Siding, Windows & Roofing helped us newbies with the whole process. Their work is excellent, and they are super easy to communicate with and responsive. Jeff and team were excellent to work with. They helped us navigate the insurance process and communicated clearly with us all along the way during the project. The crew's workmanship was great, and they left the jobsite clean after the work was done. We would definitely hire them again!

Capital Siding, Windows, & Roofing replaced our hail damaged roof in May of 2024. They were recommended at the advice of a neighbor and friend, who had used them twice before to repair her own roof as the result of two different hail storms. I could not ask for an easier and more friendly company to work with. Danny in the office was easy to get a hold of and would always respond promptly and professionally to all of my inquiries. Jeff Moore, the company’s owner, also regularly made himself available, as I had never been through the process of a roof repair before and I had a lot of questions. Everything was explained to me in full, with relation to the options and financial considerations, and with courtesy. Azael and his crew arrived on site with friendliness and professionalism and even helped me to move some things that were too heavy for me to move ahead of time by myself. They did all of this with a smile, and with an ‘all in a day’s work’ attitude. My home is rather old, and its underlying roof structures were in need of some serious TLC. Azael was very helpful in explaining the issues to me, and I never felt pressured to make improvements at additional costs that I didn’t want to make. Great company to work with!

Jeff and Danny came out to my house to bid on 6 new windows. After looking at my windows, they informed me the windows were in great shape and provided detailed information on how I could fix the draftiness. I was flabbergasted and found their ethical behavior unusually honest. If I, or anyone I know, EVER needs windows I would recommend Capital. The men themselves were on time, clean, courteous and just genuinely good people. Kudos to Capital !!!

We had 4 roofing contractors bid on 3 new roofs for our home and two garages after a hail storm. Only Capital prepared its estimate following our insurance adjuster’s line-item estimate, making it easy to compare. Capital’s owner, Jeff Moore, helped us negotiate with our insurance company to increase our coverage payment. We wanted the same Owens-Corning 3-color shingles we had before, but 2 other contractors claimed they were not available. Well, Capital got the shingles we wanted no problem. The roofing crew was friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, professional and hardworking-- they did a great job cleaning up too. Capital also handled some gutter and drainage work unrelated to the hail claim at reasonable cost. Capital’s communications were immediate and everyone on their staff is great to work with. Our thanks to Jeff, Danny, Mary and the crew. We highly recommend this company. Our new roofs and gutters look great and many of our neighbors have stopped to admire them!

The overall experience we had with Capital Siding Window (CSW) was fantastic! We had some hail damage from the May 2022 storm, both roofing, siding, gutters and window wraps. After speaking with our insurance company, we contacted CSW on getting the work completed. They helped find additional damage not discovered by our insurance and went above and beyond in getting all the work estimated and covered by our insurance. The communication with Jeff and Danny throughout has been excellent. The quality of the work delivered has also been excellent. Especially want to call out the siding crew - very friendly, professional, and quite obvious they take pride in their work. The next time I need a roof, siding, windows, etc., I'm absolutely calling CSW!!!

Everything went great even tho I had a hard project due to my insurance company

When we got hit with the hail storm last summer on the east side of St Paul, we received damage to our roof, gutters, etc. The insurance company sent an adjuster that approved about 25 percent of the damage. Add to this most roofing companies were very busy and weren’t really interested in a small roof like ours. We contacted Capitol Siding and Windows and they were instrumental in us getting what we should have received in the first place. They came out and inspected everything, took a lot of pictures and helped us contact the insurance company to meet an adjuster and straighten out our claim. The claim was fully approved, and our new roof looks great! Capitol Siding and Windows is a local family owned business that still puts customer’s needs first, and I highly recommend them for any exterior work on your house. I promise you will not be let down.

Capital Siding and Roofing responded promptly to assess damage and cover to mitigate further damage. The walked us patiently through claims process and the roof was completed within a month and ahalf during peak busy season. One of their experienced roofers customized making a low profile chimney cover to mitigate future leakage problems. The roofing team was professional. They protect landscaping and the roof is magnificent workmanship. This family owned business is reputable providing superior service.

Had new siding and gutters installed. The entire process went very smooth. We were communicated with consistently, the labor crew were timely, efficient, friendly, and did excellent work. Great overall experience and we would highly recommend this company. It was a pleasure to do business with Jeff and Danny.

We used Capital to replace 6 windows in our house and the back door package. Jeff, Danny, and Sheila were all very communicative throughout the process. Bryan, the installer was so good at his job even the City of Minneapolis inspector said "I've done a lot of inspections for them; they do good work." All in all, the value was great, and we are so happy that our 120 year old house is a little less drafty! Note: before using them, I read a fair amount of the 1 star google reviews, and there were a lot of complaints about the time that things needed to wait. I obviously don't think this can be controlled by anyone at Capital. Again, they were up front that time frames were estimates and could change based on material availability and delivery schedule due to COVID. Nothing on their part.

The overall project went very well!! All staff were very prompt and professional. The window ordering process went very smooth, although the windows took longer than expected but that was due to production and supply issues and not the fault of Capital Siding. They were very good at communication throughout the whole process and kept us updated on the status of the order. The window installation is great and we couldn't be happier with the final result. We will definitely use them again in the future if we have another need!

The project went very well. Jeff and Danny visited our house, provided the estimate and set realistic expectations on the work and delayed start due to manufacturer supply chain issues. They also communicated well throughout the project. Bryan, the window installer, was excellent and matched the existing intricate window trim perfectly. He was also very careful and cleaned up the work area at the end of each day.

We had 3 companies come out to bid our home exterior project. We are very happy we went with Capital to replace our roof, siding and windows. Jeff and Danny were great to work with. They took a lot of time with us at the initial meeting to answer all our questions and give us suggestions for our work. They kept us updated throughout the project as materials were delivered and when the different crews would be working on our house. The roofing crew was very efficient and hard working. Bryan the window installer was outstanding. We were very impressed with his high-quality work and attention to detail. John, Tony, and the rest of the siding crew were also fantastic. They made sure all our questions were answered as they were completing their work. Finally, we had stonework done on the front of the house and Troy, the mason, was great as well. We are thrilled with how the updates turned out! We would use Capital again and would recommend them to others!

Capital Siding, Windows & Roofing are a great local family owned business. They go above and beyond to make sure your roof is installed with quality workmanship! We are so happy with working with this company we are having them install new porch windows as well.

Capital Siding was excellent to work with. They didn't have the cheapest estimate on offer, and the other contractors I spoke to use similar quality supplies, but I went with Capital because during our initial consultation they asked me more questions and offered more information than the others and were very quick to respond to my follow up questions which gave me a lot of confidence in the choices I was making. They were also very clear about where things might not go so smoothly, such as the possibility of extra repair costs and delays in supply acquisition. Both of those, luckily, turned out to be not too big of a deal, but, at least I was prepared and they didn't make any false promises. That high level of communication continued during the job and I am very happy with the results of the work and would be glad to work with them in the future.

These guys were great. Punctual. Top-notch work. Excellent attention to detail. I’ve hired too many people for too many jobs and so frequently I get shoddy work, they’re behind schedule, and it looks bad. Not with CSW. Top-notch and I would recommend them to anyone. I love these guys

Pros: We got quotes from 3 different companies and decided to go with Capitol Siding, the price was comparable we really liked Danny - who came and did the estimate. We also like it that they are a local family run business. It went well. Danny and Jeff are very nice and good with communication. They were happy to work with us after we determined the house needed new decking. We had to wait a little past when the thought they'd be able to do the roof because a delay in the roof they needed to finish before getting to us. Which we took to mean they did the job right and didn't rush to move on to the next thing. Also, we weren't in any rush so it didn't matter to us and they were good at communicating this to us. The roof looks good - no leak issues. They did a good job cleaning up the debris in the yard from the roofing job. Cons: > Someone in the crew were smoking on the roof, but when we brought it to Danny's attention it was dealt with right away and didn't happen again. > Although they did a good job picking up the yard, once the dumpster was moved we had to pick up all the nails that were left in the driveway. However, my guess is that if we'd have called someone would have come back and picked them up, but we wanted them picked up ASAP so there were no holes in tires. >They did leave a few supplies in the yard, they said they would get it and were very responsive with communication, but they kept forgetting to pick it up. We finally moved it to the side yard and they picked it up a few weeks after the job was finished.
