It went very good. They were prompt, they cleaned up after themselves, and price was very fair. I was very impressed.

Reached Carl right away, pleasant and up-front. Told him my issue, said he could do it, but it would be the week after. Only issue is he forgot about us. I called again he told me that Tuesday or Wednesday. He contacted me Tuesday, said man there in 30. Man was punctual and professional. Fixed something my builder installed poorly. Looks great now. His price was more reasonable than others talked to.

THE BEST!! Will detail... but first I want to preface this by saying that prior to joining Angie’s list I called a few others (google search these were “Chuck in a truck” types - both of them said that they were going to stop over neither of them showed up - but this is very typical I have hired handyman for decades and the story is all the same they show up late if they show up at all they don’t have their hammer they don’t have the nails they have to run to Home Depot they’re gone for three hours they show back up work for two hours shot late the next day if they show up at all they’re working on another job yada yada yada the story is the same across the board , oh and did I mention they usually stink like a smokestack !!! SO.... imagine my surprise when I called Carl handyman and I did he return my text and promptly assured me that they would be over the next morning at 9 o’clock of which to be honest I wasn’t too sure - but not only did they show up on time The two handyman they came over to work or nice professional knowledgeable and very helpful I was very impressed, I already have two other jobs that I’m going to be hiring them for and I can tell you I will not be hiring anybody else to do handiwork around my house except for Carl handyman and his team !! I had just joined Angie’s list that day out of frustration of trying to find somebody by doing a Google search and I’m very happy that I did ,

The bookshelf was too large and heavy to do by myself, so I reached out to Carl to see if they could help. Carl sent Seth over right away and we had it installed in less than an hour. Seth was an absolute pleasure to work with--he came with a lot of great ideas to securely mount the bookshelf to the wall and did great work. I would absolutely hire them again.

Very lousy does not look good would not fix

The work performed was "Excellent". They were on time, focused, and new their craft-very good work quality. This review would have received the highest marks for work performed on the first job, however, when calling them for a second job (Concrete Preparation), we were promised that someone would come out to give us a quote, but that never happened. In fact, I called Carl myself as a reminder, and he said his crew was busy working on roofs, but would try to make it week end. When I asked the question "Do you have time to quote this job" he was very short with me, said he would come out, and he hung up the phone quickly. We never saw or heard from him since. First job overall "A" the second job was handle very unprofessionally overall "F" have to average in this case.

Great job on the lights

I'm in a garden home with a carport out back facing the alley. because of a large amount of water run off on one side due to the natural ground slope, that side of the carport droops. It gets worse as summer hits, going from several inches to almost a foot on the left corner drooping. I called carl to come fix it because I did not know how much further it was eventually going to droop, not permitting me to get my car in there perhaps, and because I just installed an 8ft fence facing the alley along with an automatic gate. The carport would hit the new automatic gate at its lowest droop. Besides it looking like a run down unkept house, I wanted it fixed. Whatever that took. Also I wanted old cracked cement removed that's on the outter side of that side of the carport and extended the length of the carport pad. Carl and his team were prompt and efficient. They got to work digging down the support beam on the one side to reinforce it and jack up the carport droop. However due to the soil I have and the water runoff that will continue to happen because of the natural ground slope, carl team were only able to raise it a few inches and didn't know if it wouldn't resume its drooping because of the type of soil and runoff. I suggested a pole of some sort on the drooping end to support the carport. Carl knew exactly what to do and placed a 8inch think wooden post there, digging it 3 feet in the ground and surrounding it with 3 bags of cement to insure it stayed put. That worked like a charm and the carport is even on both sides and should remain that way. However they no sooner got that done and we had torrential rain, so they had to stop for the day and they came back early the next day to finish. They then layed the cement approximately 3 ft wide and 10 ft long and took their time and smoothed it out very good. It looks beautiful! I intend to put my small plastic garden tool shed there and the big ugly trash cans. Now they are tucked away neatly and out of the way. The price was very fair given the extent of the type of work that had to be done. Ive used carls for handyman services before for simple inside of the house jobs, but never for this type of job. I have complete trust in him and his team that no matter what the job, carl and his team can achieve it.

Everything went well except for planting flower bulbs. Was obvious he didn't know how to plant bulbs even after I gave verbal directions and demonstrated how to plant. Despite this he did a good job digging the flower beds. 2 man crew, prompt and professional.

They showed up on time, replaced and repaired everything that they said they would and brought everything they needed to do the job including enough guys to get it done in one day like they said they would. Very courteous and professional. I could not have done a better job than they did. <br> <br>Great bunch of guys they have. They all were doing a great job even in the heat. <br> <br>Job well done. Response time was very quick in the beginning.  The overall work was very sloppy and promises were not kept.  The painters got paint on all my kitchen appliances and utensils after telling me there was no need to empty cupboards before painting.  They did nothing to cover the contents.  I had to keep calling them back to remove paint spills on the floor and other places.  Even my iPad was covered in paint splatters.  I had paint splatters on my brand new vinyl flooring.  When painting the kitchen cabinets, the painters put screws into the front of my shelves, leaving screw hole in the shelving, again nothing could be done to rectify this problem.  The 25' stamped concrete patio did not even have a straight edge, when I asked what could be done about the bowed edge along the length of the patio, he said "nothing."  I was told several times they would be back to clean up the edge of my patio, where the concrete is unfinished.  They never did this.  I was also told that the mess they made on my back patio to my furniture and my brand new sliding glass door would be washed and "good as new".  They never did this.  I had to call back the electrician once the light fixtures were hung, because the switches didn't function properly.  When painting the woodwork in my bedroom, they got white paint on my green wall.  They covered over this splatter with a matched paint, but with a glossier finish, which looks ridiculous. When laying the vinyl flooring, they used metal transitions strips for the interior doorways.  I had to purchase my own interior thresholds.  There were so many details that were never fixed, and I was told I'm "picky."  When I requested additional concrete to be poured, he agreed with me on a price, then never showed and and never called to say his subcontractor could not do it for that price, which I understand, but I waited at home for the workers to come with no notification they were not coming.

I contacted several contractors about renovations we wanted to do in our new home before we moved in.  After meeting with various ones, Carl really impressed me with his willingness to jump in and take ownership of the project.  He shared his considerable knowledge along the way to educate me on various product decisions and ideas for our home.  There were a few bumps along the way with subcontractors, but Carl handled them and made sure the job was done right.  They did flooring removal and installation, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, paint, and other miscellaneous things.  All of it was done with high quality and at a reasonable price. <br />

Carl's follow up to schedule the work took longer than expected.  He initially said a couple days but took a week.  I'm cutting a little slack since Thanksgiving fell in the middle.  Very flexible on scheduling the work, accommodated a last minute change the morning of to move to the afternoon.  Jose, the repair man was on time and very polite.  He took care to contain and prevent mess.  He didn't mind answering questions about the work he was doing.  He was kind enough to also do some small texture touch up on a wall.  Everything looks great, if painted you wouldn't know I had a hole there.  He did offer to paint but I declined since I'm repainting the whole room later. <br />

Carl came and measured door, provided verbal quote (didn't seem interested in writing one), all fine so far. Came to install double door but it was the wrong one they bought. Hmm. Instead applied silicone and charged my girlfriend $125. Never heard from again. Not cool, Carl. Do
