Hi, I'm Cary Smith, the owner and founder of Cary's Home Improvement, in business since 1985 (formerly Countryside Construction). I began my construction career in 1978, and I have been in the field ever since. I am a top-of-the-line professional, and I take pride in every job I do. I specialize in all phases of construction: exteriors, roofing, siding, decks, custom copper roofing and flashing, doors, windows, bathrooms, kitchens, renovations, and much more! I guarantee high-quality work and meticulous clean-up. I am fair, honest, dependable, hard-working, knowledgeable, highly skilled, and well-respected in the community. I have long term relationships with many of my customers, who will vouch for my integrity, fairness, and quality of work.

My wife and I DO NOT use anyone who is not on Angie's List so we understand the importance of having accurate, fair reviews. We found Cary on Angie's List with overall great feedback on jobs he had done so we called him in for an estimate. Despite being very busy, he made the time to come over on a Saturday morning. He had previously dropped by and assessed the damage from the outside but needed to see it from the inside to ensure he could judge it accurately. After 15 minutes, our fears were realized and he said he would need to remove the cedar impression siding and remove the roof and replace it with a different system because the pitch wasn't steep enough. <br /> Within 48 hours, he provided a quote for his crew to come out and get the work done in a single day which was completely reasonable. He completed the work (guaranteed) as promised and left the site immaculate. He took pictures of the issue, of job progress and of the completed job. He mentioned he went around and filled some other issues he noticed while he was waiting for his crew to wrap up, no charge at all. He then discounted the quoted, agreed price 5% for angie's list deal I wasn't even aware of. Have you ever heard of a contractor accept less than an agreed price? Me neither. <br /> Angie's List is a great resource for people to share experiences. I think the contractors who are honest and reasonable should be applauded too. We have been on the receiving end of some really lousy service so this was a new experience having someone do what they promised to do. Cary and his crew are the best in Monmouth County. We already have him pricing out finishing a storage space and will use him to build our deck in the spring. Cary Smith and his crew were very responsive and responsible for the week that they were here. They were always on time and they kept me abreast of any and all issues. The job was messy and tedious as it involved taking up the damaged floor on the first floor of our three story condo. They matched the flooring very well to the original flooring. In fact, we were more satisfied with the quality of the replacement flooring. Cary stuck with the original estimate and there were no cost overruns. They came and finished the job within the allotted timeframe they had originally committed to. Cary and his team were a pleasure to deal with and I would definitely use them again for any home improvement projects we may have in the future. <br />

The guy's were great to work with, were very professional and made sure they did everything they could to make sure we were satisfied. They were always on time, worked cleanly and cleaned up after themselves every day. They were very accommodating, we originally wanted the wall removed entirely and when we saw it, we changed our minds and wanted it to be a half wall, they didn't miss a beat nor complain and reinstalled it, the additional labor cost was for the extra work was very reasonable and fair. We are very satisfied with the completed job and would with out a doubt use Cary's home improvements in the future. <br />

From start to finish I was extremely pleased with the service provided by Cary's Home Improvement. After going through contractor h*** for a few months, I was cautious about hiring another contractor. I found Cary's Home Improvement on Angie's List and after reading all of the great reviews, I called them. Gary came at the appointed hour and looked over all of the work that needed to be corrected and completed. He was very nice, knowledgeable and understood all of the work that needed to be done. The quoted price was very reasonable (I had gotten 2 other quotes and there was only about a $50.00 difference between Cary's and another firm), and I hired them to do the work. I found all of the workers to be very pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. I should also mention that they were very patient with me (I tend to be indecisive at times). The office manager, Jay, was also great to deal with. He was extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. I was so pleased with the quality and the outcome of the work. The cleanup job of this crew was remarkable. Everyone that has seen the updated bathroom (and other work) has favorable comments. I recommended them to a neighbor of mine, and would continue to recommend them to family and friends. Also, at the completion of the job there were a couple of items that were listed in the quote, but weren't done (due to change of design), that I was given a credit for on the last invoice. That alone speaks volumes for the integrity of this company. I will definitely be calling them again for other work. <br />

My daughter's house lost a piece of aluminum trim on the second story during hurricane Sandy. I can't tell you how many calls she made to a roofing/siding company in Ocean Twp. that our family has used for over 50 years. They would promise to call back but never did. A local handyman, recommended by her neighbor, has been promising to fix it for over 2 months. She called another company that wanted $200 to come out. I found Cary's Home Improvement on Angie's List and sent her the information. She called on June 6 and Cary came out that day and sent her an estimate of $75. The NEXT DAY the job was done! She is so happy with this company and has already recommended Cary to her neighbors. You can bet that Cary will be called again in the future, and for the big jobs as well! <br /> <br />
