I considered both fiberglass and gunnite pools. I could not get the pool size I wanted with an automatic cover in the fiberglass so decided to go with gunnite. After interviewing 3 companies, I went with Castlerock based on both price and the company representative, Bill Belser. Bill was helpful, not only during the installation process but also afterwards. This was my first pool experience and Bill was very responsive to my questions and most often, came out to walk me through various processes in pool maintenance. I am enjoying the pool immensely and have had no problems with it. I would recommend Castlerock without reservations.
We contracted with our builder to put a pool in the back of our house and they contracted with Castlerock pools. We did not know much about them but were assured they were good by our builder. We found out otherwise. they did not meet with us at all to talk about what we wanted in the pool and only dropped by during our lengthy building process once to show us a picture of the rock waterfalls they had built in the past. We did not see them again until the pool was about to be installed. they took several weeks to even dig the hole for the pool in the backyard promising us on numerous occasions that they were going to put it in that week. Finally they dug the hole during the coldest time of the year and then had to wait for the weather to warm up. Then when they were getting the steel walls ready to go in they damaged one of them which took them a long time to get. After that they took a couple of weeks to pour the concrete to form the bottom of the pool and had to suction out water repeatedly that was ground water coming in. of course the concrete cracked and they had to replace it before they could put the liner in. When the liner went in they fitted it wrong and there are ripples in one end of it which they have said repeatedly that they would fix but have not. They filled the pool and never added any chemicals to the water or got it running which would have taken care of itself because we had an automated system, so when the weather got warm enough We had a large amount of algae in the pool.We never had an orientation to the pool at that point and I don't think they had even checked on it up to the point. we got advice from a neighbor and i pulled out the manual and tried to get the system to work. I called the owner repeatedly and he would not answer his phone. The few times he did it was like I had caught him unawares and it was around 8 am usually. We finally had our orientation and that is when they told us they did not put salt into the pool or try to get it set up. Finally they put salt in the pool after much hassle with the builder calling them and us calling them. they still did not give us a test kit which was paid for or a vacuum hose which was also in the contract. When i asked the man who put the salt in the pool about the hose he said "you don't need that, you have the robot." When I mentioned the contract he told us he would get one for us and I have not heard from him since then.
In addition to all of this they were contracted to put in a rock waterfall with a slide. they kept putting it off (notice a theme) and then when we would not close with the builder they finally started work. i say started because they got two layers which looked good and then they put inexperienced people on the job and made a complete mess. I have called several times about the matter but the owner keeps saying they are going to fix it, but they never come out. We had bad weather for a couple of weeks, but when it would be nice they still would not work. There have now been several nice days and we have not seen them at all to do the work. We assume that we will not be seeing them again and that we need to get someone else to do the work instead. They left a large pile of rock in my driveway with a large pile of sand which has killed off my new sod. DO NOT USE CASTLEROCK POOLS. No matter what they tell you. they are very good at telling you what you want to hear and then they never follow up on their promise. I still have not heard a word from Brian Belser regarding the waterfall and if they intend to try to rectify their mistakes.

Last Fall, we called Castlerock Pools, Inc. for a new liner for our swimming pool. They arrived on time, did a great job installing the liner, added a new gas heater and closed the pool for us for the winter. This Spring, I called Bill Belser again and asked him to open our pool to be sure everything was in working order.

Everything is in working order and we love our "new" pool. If you need repairs or a new pool, I would highly recommend Bill and Castlerock Pools. The price is right and the work is outstanding.

New Home, saltwater pool, we have never owned a saltwater pool and need some guidance. I call and Brian schedule it for a Saturday which was wonderful this allowed for my husband to be home to participate. Ron arrived 15 min early, phone in advanced to notify me he was enroute. He removed the cover cleaned it off let it dry folded it up placed it in the storage bag and placed where we wanted it. He shocked the pool added algaecide, scrubbed the walls and the floor. Installed the ladder and handrails. Explained all functions of the pool operation clearly. Advised us as to the supplies to purchase and when to add them and how to have the water tested. He repaired a slipped liner in several places. The price was exactly as quoted. We are so happy with their services and appreciate the expertise and knowledge Ron shared with us. We will be call them to close the pool in the fall. We could do it ourselves but the price was fair and the service was excellent the value is worth it

Even with very short notice Brian Belser came out to do the inspection. He was obviously very knowlegeable and spent time with me describing the overall function of the pool, what needed a little attention and what options I had for long term maintenance. In addition he said that I could call him later and he would be glad to help me get further acquainted with the pool, saying he considered that part of the inspection.
Sometimes you find and work with people and companies that really want to help; that put you at ease and give you a comfort level that you are getting the straight story. Brian and CastleRock Pools are great examples of that.

The experience overall was satisfactory. They made a service call removed my pool cover and diagnosed that the pool pump had bad seals and needed to be replaced. They procured a new pump and returned the following week very late in the day and replaced the pump.

Our pool lost all the water in it 2 years ago, for some reason. We were not able to open it until this year. Brian gave an estimate, and the amount did not change. We had a wide range of liners to choose from. It came it about 10 days, and they installed it, no problem.
His workers and friendly and knowledgeable.

Response from CastleRock Pools
"We did a few minor repairs and informed the customer of others that they did no want to do. When we inspect the pool for the buyer we informed them of the problems. Ms. [Member Name Removed] was trying to make them think nothing was wrong with the pool. She states in the complaint that there were no problems. That is a lie because she had to pay another pool company to put in a new liner. She did not get away with trying' to cheat the buyer."
