Rob Chace did not tell me when we signed the contract on 27 July 2021 that he had Stage 4 throat cancer and was receiving radiation and chemotherapy. If he had told me, my wife and I would not have hired him. We gave him 4,600.00 at the time. He came on 1 September 2021, knocked down a retaining wall, and asked for an additional 2,300.00 which I gave him. He has not been back since and I have a crumbling foundation where I could lose a portion of my house. He did not get a permit which he said he would, and legally cannot do work without it. I have spoken to the Town Code Enforcement Officer and yesterday the New York State Police. Rob has not worked under contract as promised. I am not sure he can do this work due to his illness. I have asked him many times to refund 5,900.00 and we will dissolve the contract. He claims he is going to do the work and makes a date then does not show up. He also said he was going to get a permit but has not. In his contract, it states the funds received from me would be held in escrow until the job is finished thus he could easily refund what I ask. Also, he has destroyed my lawn with a machine he rented and has promised to fix it. This man is a liar, unprofessional, and no one I would recommend. This is a man who you should not recommend as well. My wife is ill as she has had a stroke and has diabetes. The stress he has caused is dangerous to health and cannot be tolerated any longer. This man has terminal cancer and did not advise us. On Facebook, his wife stated on 18 June that he was ill and he would try to work. He did not advise us of this or he would not have been hired. I have all paperwork, and e-mails as he will not speak to me. Promises, promises, and more promises. I have seen recent reviews of the same nature as mine and if I can do this, I will have him arrested for fraud. I have spoken to the District Attorney of Oswego County where he lives and was told to call the New York State Police which I have done. I would like a cash refund of 5,900.00 and I will personally void his contract, otherwise, I will prosecute for the full amount lost/stolen from me without work in return. It is the middle of the month and he has worked 4 hours total and that doesn't include breaks. He promised a crew and came with two underage kids who had no idea why they were there. Please advise and thank you in advance.

Bob was very responsive and accommodating to my needs. This was a small project but he treated it as though it was large and with the same urgency. I needed stairs rebuilt in my back yard that were crumbling. Bob was on time and was able to get the job done in a reasonable time for a good price. Stairs came out excellent and we are happy. This is one of several projects I have have this company do for us. If your looking for a professional, honest, and reliable contractor I would suggest giving these guys a look.

Excellent job! Just a small thing but it needed to get done. The stairs off the back porch were falling apart. Bob and his crew came within the week and had them finished in a couple hours. We will definitely be hiring them again.

NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY! They did not tighten down the drain in the shower they put in for us. Left the tool to tighten it with in the drain. After the water got into the wall from leakage of not tightening the drain correctly, the water came though our ceiling downstairs like a waterfall. We had to replace the ceiling and fix the problem with a new drain. We will have to replace the carpet soon also because there was so much water coming through the ceiling. We tried to work with the owner but he would not hear of it. When it happened we called him but he never returned our call. We then had to call a plumber - he did not even want to do anything with it because the whole job was done very shabby. They also put the hot/cold water knob on backwards. This was a nightmare and we would not wish this on anybody.

They did great work, were professional, and had very reasonable prices. Would ABSOLUTELY hire them again.

My wife and I were looking for a reliable contractor with reasonable pricing that would be able to get done what we envisioned for our backyard. We contacted Rob Chace the owner of Catalina and he was very responsive and was able to visit our home for a estimate and ensure what we wanted could be done. This companies quality of work is above and beyond. Crew was neat and cleaned after everyday. We have our backyard paradise now completed and Catalina will Be our first contact on our next project.

Very good! They did a very nice job, and if I had any questions they would had answers. When I have to look up something, they came right away the next day.
