My husband hired CD Tile through Mr. Dehart the end of October to lay vinyl flooring over existing tile. Job size was 720sqft not 650 as Mr Dehart stated in his reply to my husbands review. He required an $1100 deposit even though we had already purchased the flooring ourselves. Job was to start on November 2nd and be completed within 2 days. My husband called Mr Dehart and asked if he could start the 3rd of Nov as he could not be home. Mr Dehart stated no problem. On the 3rd he texted he was waiting for oxygen and would start the job on the 4th. Then at 8:30 am on the 4th my husband texted asking where he was to which he did not respond. Texted again at 9am and Mr Dehart finally responded he was in the hospital. Mr Dehart never told my husband he had COVID. Said he couldn’t breath and needed oxygen. The following week the excuse was just got out of the hospital still too weak. Following week was waiting on clearance from his doctor. Following week was still too weak to walk so couldn’t drive. My husband offered to pick up the money. His response was he was waiting on his PayPal account to clear. What that was about don’t know as we paid him cash. After two months my husband finally filed charges and took it to court. Court date was today. We won the court judgement and Mr Dehart was ordered to pay the $1100 plus court fees. All of the above are true facts and can be fact checked by checking court records at the Indian River Courthouse as these are public records. All we have asked since day one is that our money be returned and Mr Dehart has repeatedly had excuses as to why he has not paid us. If this is not paid within the next week we will hire an attorney and also file with the state of Florida to have his License suspended so he at least will not be able to do this to anyone else in this state. Based on the photos it went well My house had uneven floors, I'm not talking slight irregularities , I'm talking humps in the floor so bad that Home depot refused to do the work, and the tiler that did my ground floor tapped out. Curtis came out , and gave a reasonable price, the work was arduous , and the cost and amount of materials used was way more than I anticipated , but Curtis managed to get it done. I am yet to actually see the finished product, but like I said based on the photos he did a really good job. Curtis is an excellent communicator and he has a passion for what he does. He sent me photos every step of the way, sought my input every step of the way and on the whole, he turned what could have been a huge nightmare into something of more manageable proportions.
