I originally contacted this company in June 2014 for an estimate on termite treatment and repairs, upon finding active termites less than 1 year after purchasing the home. The owner and President of the company, Mark Hernandez, claimed he could resolve the issue without fumigation and then sold me on a annual control service program to extend my warranty on their work performed, which had to be done annually, every October to keep the warranty in place and prevent future termites. Our last "preventative treatment” with them was completed on our home on 10/30/2019 (see paid invoice attached with Mark Hernandez operator number). Upon leaving our home on 10/30/2019, the technician claimed he found no termites, and sprayed for preventative measures only. This was actually what they told us in the previous years visits as well, leading us to believe our home was termite free. Note, I have never been provided with any reports from them after their 2014 work was completed on my home. My realtor contacted them for an escrow clearance certificate as we are selling our home. On 1/11/2020, a new technician from their company, named Andres Garcia, arrived at our property to do the inspection. I would like to mention this is the first time we have ever seen or heard of Andres. All paid invoices and their company website reflects Mark Hernandez as the President of record / field representative. Andres preceded to poke open several areas on our home that showed visible termite damage, he stated that we not only needed to pay him for the re-inspection fee on our property, but also we would need to pay for fumigation and repair services from their company as we have active termites. He said we would need to pay for everything, and that nothing was covered under our yearly control agreement (that had never lapsed since the original work they performed on our home in 2014). He would not disclose the cost of repairs. Also, the areas he pointed out were the same areas that his company treated and repaired the wood in 2014. When questioned on why the last technician on 10/30/2019 didn't find termites or wood damage (and actually confirmed no termites found), and why there is now such a discrepancy a little over 2 months later, he was unable to answer and started to become aggressive and demeaning with me, while I was holding my newborn son. With my husband now on the phone, as I was starting to become very uncomfortable with Andres behavior, we literally had to force him off of our property by advising we would call the police, even though he was insisting I pay him additional monies for his inspection before leaving. He also claimed he is the "new Mark" and that Mark and Tara Hernandez are living in Colorado now, and managing afar. Upon calling his office to speak to Mark Hernandez (President) or Tara Hernandez (CFO), we were then told by Natalie and Cindy Garcia separately, that Mark and Tara are no longer the owners. Cindy then stated that herself and her husband, Andres Garcia, have been the new owners for the last 2 years. This is conflicting with current and past years invoices I received from this company, which list Mark Hernandez as the owner with a license number of OPR11652. I asked Cindy Garcia why their information has not been updated with the California Secretary of State, and she told me that "it is a private matter and not of your concern regarding your termite issue." She said it was correct with the state's Pest Control Board, which was all she seemed to be concerned with. After further research with the state, Mark's operator license is not valid. Their company website also listed invalid owner information (screenshot attached before they scrambled to update after my call to them on this). Their business filings with the Secretary of State for California clearly list Mark and Tara Hernandez as the primary owners. There have been no Statement of Info changes (last filing attached from 10/29/2019). Their office refused to provide the owner contact info. To summarize, they are dishonest, their work is substandard, they are defrauding consumers, along with using misleading advertising practices (including upsetting), and conducting owner/operator misrepresentation on inspections as well as work performed on homes.
