Great the shimmed up the ash trees so as not to damage them and they did an excellent job with the clean up

Mr. Lafoe, the owner, came to my house to give me an estimate for the tree work that I needed done in my backyard.  He was very courteous at that meeting.  We agreed on a price, which I thought was high, but which I agreed to because tree services in my area are notoriously unprofessional and he seemed different. <br /> Because of the winter weather we could not schedule in advance, but he said he would get in touch with me.  He never did call me back.  However, on Dec 19, a day that I was having roofing work done, he suddenly appeared with his crew and two trucks.  He had not called me.  He simply showed up.  That was just the beginning of the problems.  I told him that my roofer would be arriving in a few hours and that I needed to keep  my driveway open for him.  I had to literally stand in the road blocking my driveway because one of his crew, who did not seem to speak English, was trying to back into it and I could not make him understand that he couldn't use the driveway.  Mr. Lafoe went down two houses to one of my neighbors who has a long driveway, and his crew ended up using it to park their wood chipper truck.  Later the neighbor came to me and complained; he thought he would be given some money for the use of his driveway, but there was no money given, so I placated the neighbor with $20. <br /> After getting his trucks into my neighbor's driveway, Mr. Lafoe drove away and left his crew to do the job.  He asked me if I wanted to keep the wood, and I told him that I would ask neighbors if they wanted it, so he said he would call back.  He never did.  The crew took all of the wood, along with some that was in the yard of another neighbor who does outdoor cooking.  They didn't ask if they could have that wood; they just took it. <br /> The crew must not have had any rakes, because they left my yard littered with twigs and small branches, which I was still picking up weeks later. <br /> So this was not a pleasant experience.  It all began with not being contacted about the work day.  Mr. Lafoe's leaving his crew and never calling back to see about any problems was very disturbing.   I would not use this company again.  <br /> <br /> <br />

It took them two days because we had a lot of trees and limbs down or damaged by a storm. They were hard working, professional and did a good job. <br />

It could not have gone better! Tony and his crew arrived basically when they told us they would. They had all the necessary equipment with them (strictly professional grade) and the crew of two started to work right away. The tree was about 30 feet tall, in our front yard and fairly close to the house so we were concerned about damage so we watched the whole process. Our neighbors have had 4-5 trees removed in the past couple of years and, after seeing that work, we knew not to use any of those contractors -and we knew what to watch out for. <br /> This crew was A-1 professional all the way. Some of the limbs were removed after they climbed in the tree and the rest (the ones near the house and a valuable holly tree) were taken down using the large and quot;cherry-pickerand quot; on the big truck. We were very impressed with the whole process. <br /> They also ground-out the stump and the roots and their big machine made fast work of it. They even and quot;dugand quot; a hole for us where we will have an replacement tree installed soon. Most amazing of all, these fellas were able to grind up ALL of the tree except for a few very large pieces from the trunk. Amazing machine! As a result, there was little mess and they cleaned everything up very thoroughly before they left. Tony came by to inspect the work and he and his crew helped us spread topsoil and grass seed over the spot where the ash tree stood. This was a plesant surprise -and much appreciated! <br /> They did a very professional job and we will call them first if we ever need tree service again. <br /> <br />
