It worked out okay. He had to make his own template in order to make this fit. He did a good job. He did one thing for me and that is kind of his expertise. He did okay with it. This was a special but the price I paid him was the price it should be in the first place. I thought $30 an hour would have been fine for him for this job. It is not worth $60. I thought the price I paid was reasonable. I would hire him on a special but I wouldn't call him and hire him on his regular price. I found one little thing wrong but it wasn't anything to really squawk about. The responsiveness was good. He did call me back although he didn't get here for three weeks. He did call right away within three days or so. He was punctual. I wouldn't use him in future at his price. I can't afford him.

It isn't often that one gets more than he paid for, but in this case, I can only say that Tom Nevits went out of his way to provide just that kind of bargain. Tom is the owner of Certified Craftsmen of NE Ohio, and is exactly that, a true craftsman. He can do it all, but his specialty is carpentry, which proved fortunate for me, since all the aforementioned projects required carpentry expertise. In each case, Tom did an excellent job either fixing, or restoring, things that had long bedeviled me, owner of an almost 60-year old dwelling. He made short work fixing a warped furring strip on an exterior door. He caulked it well to prevent moisture inflitration, which had caused the problem in the first place. Next, he realigned our bathroom linen cabinet to its adjacent vanity counter top, a problem he resolved using a single wood screw. Other contractors estimated it would take hundreds of dollars to fix that very same problem. The final two jobs required more effort, but Tom was up to the task. He replaced a badly damaged trim board that had been gnawed
by our dog when still a puppy, and installed a new one in its place. He also got a balky pocket door, which had never worked properly since we moved in, to operate smoothly. That repair wasn't even among the ones he agreed to fix! He simply did it as a courtesy. In fact, one previous contractor stated he wasn't even willing to work on this type of door, which Tom fixed for free in approximately fifteen minutes, because they present such a formidable challenge. In total, these repairs exceeded the two hour time limit in his Angie's List offer, but Tom did not charge any extra money, except $14 to buy the wood he needed to repair the jamb, which he actually drove to the store and purchased for me! Tom cheerfully knocked all these jobs out in a friendly and courteous manner. I was very grateful, because not only did he repair things that had bothered me for years, he literally saved me hundreds of dollars in the process. Tom is a savvy contractor, with more than 20 years experience in the home repair business. As I stated, his specialty is carpentry, but I would trust his professionalism to tackle just about any basic job. He promptly answered my calls and e-mails, he was professional, and personable, and most important, he provided top-notch work at a more than reasonable charge. I'm glad I found Tom Nevits, and I truly would not hesitate to contact him in the future for any other home repair projects I might need done.
Terrible! Felt lied to, cheated & manipulated. When I told him he said he was only making $33. & Angie's list got the rest. I told him he shouldn't have offered the big deal & not to take out on me. I told him if he'd been fair with me, there was other work to be done. He offered to mail me a check for a refund. It never came.

Tom is a really great guy. Storm door was a big job with a fair amount of workarounds to get it to work due to odd doorway. He got it done and even though he put in a lot of unexpected extra time the original price quoted was what he charged. Would use him for work again without a doubt!
Tom's busy but really did a great job making the best use of his time. He took enough care to let paint dry and make a return visit later in the day for the final installation and coat. At the initial estimate he was clear with pricing and later was honest enough to lower the job's overall cost once he was able to closer inspect the areas in question. Someone I'll continue to do business with.

We had a hole in our wood siding from water and pests. He took it down to the studs and rebuilt that section. Also replaced doors and made screens. He has great attention to detail and makes sure that the finish work is perfect. Replaced garbage disposal and electric outlets and ceiling fans, and floor transitions. He was able to do everything on my list at very reasonable prices.

Certified Craftsmen of Northeast Ohio, LLC came to my home on Friday - May 1st. He was personable and very easy going. Tom, was respectful of my property and took a great deal of care removing the siding from my home where the work had to be performed. Upon removing a bee's nest - Tom made sure he had removed the entire nest. He had to put his arm quite a ways back to ensure he removed everything.

When Tom was done and getting to put everything together, he was very intuitive when putting everything back together. He said he wants to ensure there was a tight seal so that no other insects could get up into that area since he had to cut the wood which would leave some open areas.

After the area got put back together, Tom proceed to calk the whole front of my home because I had stated that when Orkin came to my house last fall to treat the bee infestation, he indicated that area should be calked to ensure that nothing could be getting in to the spacing between my soffit and the brick on the front of the house. Tom went ahead and did the entire front of the house; without me even asking. In addition to the calking he went and popped the siding in place on the front of the house that he felt was coming out.

Tom was amazing. He put me so much as ease with his work, I am so much more comfortable now when I see a bee flying around the front of the house - I don't panic thinking that they are trying to make a nest. During the time Tom was there doing the work - I kept seeing a bird fly up to gutter. I was worried it was trying to make a nest, Tom got on the ladder and went and double checked for me.

if it wasn't for Angie's List helping me find Tom, I would not have known what to do with the bees nest at my house. I will definitely look to Angie's List in the future to help me and I will definitely call upon Certified Crafsmen of Northeast Ohio, LLC for any of my home improvement, handy man needs. He is someone you can trust and feel comfortable with the work.

Tom had a full schedule but found a niche he could fit me in that was several days earlier than i expected. This was a nice surprise. The type of screen door I'd puchased was out of true because I'd stored it for a year on its side, and the door frame was out of true as well due to the old house setting over the years. The screen door that was removed was the original aluminum frame door; the new one is a wood core door. Tom worked quickly and and explained what he was doing as he was doing the install so that I a good idea of the the numerous adjustments and fine-tunings the install required. The final result was excellent, and we've gotten some nice comments on the door since then. We really liked Tom's friendliness and professionalism. We will be asking Tom to replace our two large front windows, which will also probably be challenging as they're as old as the house too.
Came on time. Fixed a bad light switch, replaced a ceiling light and rebuilt my ceiling fan, so I wouldn't have to replace it. Above the "call of duty" I'd say. Very pleasant and clean. Very pleased with Tom N.

Owner is neat, skilled, polite and reliable. Over the last 18 months, our family has used Tom at 3 West side properties. Projects have included: total roof tear off and reroof, kitchen cabinet install, baseboard trim/ crown molding, front and side door install, siding repair, and step repair. He Is a carpenter first, but has proven that he is a top notch all around handyman. We have had several positive experiences and recommend him highly!
