Hello my name is Charles Martinez, with Charles in Charge Painting Services. We are excited about joining the Angie's List Family as of Monday 02/24/2020 and look forward to many successful years to come!!!! We've Been Serving Houston and surrounding area's since 2014!! I'm 34 years old and I've been doing this since i was 16 yrs old and went into business in 201`4. We offer nothing less than 1st class work. I joined Home Advisor in Dec. 2018 and in that span accumulated 61 reviews, 51 of which Five Stars, 8 Four stars and 2 3's. I Average a 4.7 out of 5 stars. I have Pictures on here and different ones on there as well you can look up my Home Advisor Profile to get a good feel for me since I'm new to Angie's List. Besides Mastering Painting/Staining, Drywall Repair and Texture Matchlng, I'm honest, trustworthy and the right guy for the Job!!!! And I work alone most of the time so that cuts out a lot of overhead and keeps my prices better than the Competition. I move quick, I can knock out as much work as 2-3 guys because I WORK, My Customers and Reviews will testify to that. Thank You for your time and I look Forward to hearing from you!!!

He started the work which in my opinion was very unprofessional and sloppy but I still gave him a chance. He was supposed to show up the next day to finish but did not show so I called and texted many times in an effort to establish communication and even called Home advisor/Angi for assistance. Finally that afternoon He called and said he had to pick up his daughter from school and go to the Emergency room and would be back the next morning early to finish. I said ok and take care of your family-family first but if something happens to call or text me so I know whether to expect you or not and he said ok. the next morning he did not show or contact me after many, many calls and texts from me. Later that evening he texted and said he was sick and just woke up, since he was very unprofessional in his texts to me I thought it would be best to avoid any possible verbal war. 1. I am in general an easy to get along with person and believe everyone deserves a fair chance and that has been offered to this Company many times but he has refused to make any attempt to respond. I and Angi have tried to reach out to come to a mutual understanding but they have not responded. 2. There is no way I can endorse this Company to even haul off trash, so there's no way I can even think about endorsing them for anything, there is no professionalism in their vocabulary, this Company doesn't even know how to spell professional. 3. I truly hope that what happened to me happens to know one else, DO NOT PAY ANYTHING upfront and inspect the work closely because I bet you will find poor workmanship. 4. I had to have someone remove all the Primer due to non adhesion and start all over again, you can imagine what a hit that was. I was told there was no sanding or cleaning prior to install and on top of that the wrong Primer was used for these types of cabinets. I have pictures to prove it if anyone wants to see them. I asked for a partial refund not a full refund so they wouldn't be out the cost of fuel but greed prevented that in my opinion.

"He's Crazy!!!! I went there on a Monday to start Painting his Cabinets I got them all primed and most of them Caulked then Tuesday I had to go get my 6yr old daughter from School she had a stomach bug and took her to the ERvtook all day I told him but that night I caught whatever mu daughter had and was SICk all night and the following day Wednesday. I texted him Wednesday evening he never returned any text or call if he would have been patient or understanding I could have come back Thursday or Friday and Finished. I Received $500 Monday of the $1,400 job because I got the job more than half done. He's not a nice person I have on Angie Leads 126 Reviews 106 5 star Reviews 4.62 Average and won Super Service Award for Angie's List 2020 my Online resume is Great because I do good work and am honest some people are Vindictive and just wrong. The Priming of the Cabinets were done just fine he's trying to get money back for work done so he can have someone paint the cabinets now and make out on it Yall at Angie's List have to know there are bad people out there and do this crap out of Spite because my kid and I got sick "Didn't Complete The Job" and now "The work was no good"?? Yea right. If ya'll want to part with me I'll take my $550 a month somewhere else some months I don't get any real leads like lost money but I represent yall good"

Charles in charge painting was by far the worst painter I have ever used. I contracted him to paint the exterior of my house and sadly the results were that of a person who’s only been painting for a couple months. Everyone knows that a great paint job is 95% prep work. This was unfortunately an oversight in my situation. -Caulking- gaps everywhere in transition areas such as soffits and fascia’s. Not a single exposed nail head was caulked. -had a 5gallon of primer that wasn’t even touched. New paint applied over existing where the old color is still highly visible. No second coat was even attempted to cover existing color -some areas were completely left unpainted. -the overlaps of newly installed Hardie siding planks left unpainted. -painted directly over chipping paint. I don’t think I ever saw a paint scraper, sander, or paint eater ever being used. -no drop clothes were ever used resulting in paint splatter on exterior pavement. Was left ignored when reaching back out to him to try to remedy the situation. Please avoid at all costs

"Your Completely Delusional The Job was good especially for what you paid for we pressure washed the gouse thoroughly if it came down to hand scraping you would not want to have paid that extra cost whatever didn't come off with the pressure Washer which I had had an inch from the surface so whatever paint didn't come off Wasn't amd we used Drop clothes the Job looks great You are out of your mind it's not coincidence that I've got a million 5 star Reviews and Best of Angie's List 2020 And the Price was Predicted on the Super Paint 1 coat not 2 coats your out of your mind and very cheap if you wanted it painted twice for pennies I was doing you a favor And ( You didn't see me use "Paint Eater"??) Seriously???? You did not loose on that deal your just selfish and Greedy"

Charles painted my 2000sf house in 2 days. It was a job that took 3 people 7 days. I say this because that's what it took for the previous company to do a horrible job. Charles saved the day. He came out on Saturday and quoted a good price and started painting on Tuesday and finished on Wednesday. BY HIMSELF! He cut the rooms freehand. Truly precision work. I will hire him again in the future and I will recommend him to anyone I can.

The dry wall is wavy. Used white paint on top of cream which stands out totally obviously. Didn't replace any insulation. Never came back to finish 2 very small 4 ×4 holes. Could not place tarps to catch mess which left me cleaning for at least 4hours, until 2am!

This is the WORST “professional” painter I have ever seen. He claimed to know how to paint our banister and clearly did not. He was hired by our roofing company to compete drywall and paint repair on our ceiling. We trusted he must be skilled and hired to him to paint our banister. He did such a poor job on the ceiling work our roofing company sent someone back to completely redo it. He also made a huge mess of our banister- large, thick dried drips, paint on our white spindles that he never cleaned up, uncovered primer… He also didn’t use drop clothes and splattered paint and plaster EVERYWHERE. Additionally, very strange. I didn’t feel comfortable with him in my home (safety issues). DO NOT HIRE THIS PAINTER.

"That is so Low, I have Terettes, not the Verbal kind but the type where it just makes me twitch to make fun of someone's Condition and call them Strange? That so not right. I gave you a super low price on your Bannister to help you out and yea I kinda rushed it I knew I would have to come back and fix it but I couldn't because I was too "Strange " and there was "Safety Issues " with me in your house what a joke you need to look in the mirror Hurting People like to Hurt other People I've never had anyone go that Low I won Best of Angie's List 2020 Last Year yea I'm very professional if something doesn't turn out great you go back and fix it I didn't get that chance."

Terrible job. He did it on time as promised. The quote was $2,000 to strip down and paint the fence, but he never takes off the old paint and just paints over chipping paint. Old paint never Scrape down or prep. Paints started to chip in 2 days. I reviews the security camera and see no preparation. Miss spots every where. We agreed to settled for a discount but he keep bugging my partner asking for more and dared me to report to authorities and he has his cousins as lawyer to counter suit if I file a small claim. BE CAREFUL!! Hire someone else!!!

Thats all you are, You got a very big gate painted for $1200 you won on that it looks freaking brand new just about. its 30 years old there's only so much you can scrape realistically the job is Beautiful but your the type that wants something for nothing thats why I told you to keep the money you must need it more than me you never itended paying the estimate. I didn't win best of 2020 for no reason . People out there know your type well. And yes I dared you to take me to small claims because I know I'd win the judgment that's why you were just talking out of your rear end. SMH."

I gave this company a try but, I don't want anyone else have to go through the unprofessional work and unfinished job like we have. I paid this contractor $2000 to paint a master bedroom closet buildout and he didn't finish the job. I called Charles in charge to come back and fix the bubbles and lack of paint and he said he would. Now Charles in Charge Painting Service will not answer his phone or call back. WARNING- don't get taken like my family did!!!
