They were the only company that did a thorough inspection and explanation of the problems, giving me a menu of options that took care of all of my needs. A little more expensive and worth it!

Pete was very helpful with any questions I had, and Joseph was polite and professional when he came to the house to measure for the estimate. By the end of the day, I had been emailed a detailed estimate on the cost and any extra expenses that could occur if damage was discovered once the old roof was removed. Both the crew for the roof and the crew for the gutters were punctual, arriving promptly at 7:00 a.m. The roofing crew completed the job by the evening, having laid down tarps to protect plants and cleaned up the old shingles and paper that had been removed. The crew members were polite and friendly, but did not sit around for any small talk; they got straight to work and didn't even take a break until around 2:00 in the afternoon! Hard-working, professional, and affordable, I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Last April we decided a new roof was in order as ours was over 20 years old. We had used Chief Roofing previously for a small roof repair and they had done a great job - so we called them to take a look at our old roof. They quickly made an appointment; reviewed our roof; provided documentation on what was available to us; provided cost estimates and most importantly explained their process and estimated time to complete. On our scheduled date they were on time, introduced the crew and explained their tasks for the day. We were pleasantly surprised that clean up of old shingles and nails didn't wait until they were done but was ongoing throughout the removal process. And when the whole process was over they ensured there was no remaining mess - even raking all around our house. Both my husband and I are in our later years and haven't seen service like this for decades. Chief did an excellent job and we would highly recommend them and use them again. AND we've had three monsoon periods of time with trash moving rains since the roof was done and the roof has performed as expected.

Called the office for an appointment for a quick, easy job. Technician arrived 30 minutes late and stated that there was a $280 flat service charge. He did not offer the 5% discount for Angie's list members and called his office to verify that I am eligable for the discount . After a 10 minute work, he asked for a tip. I paid with a check that was cashed the same day of service. I have called the technician and the office several times, but still have not received my invoice after 3 days.

Most prepared and detailed discussion of the issues and resolution to our needs. Went beyond our initial thoughts to provide a complete solution. Stopped the leak at no charge BEFORE any contract was signed. Gave us a very competitive estimate and there were no unexpected charges on the final invoice. They responded to my inquiries within a reasonable timeframe.

Kevin at Chief Roofing did a nice job cleaning the gutters. Some guys who do this will leave a bunch of debris on the ground, but he cleaned that up too.

After the initial visit to repair the roof, it still leaked. One of their managers came out and agreed the work was not done right and they would fix it. They sent out the same guy who did an inadequate job the first time. He was supposed to come on a Saturday but never did. When I called on Monday, I was told he would come on Tuesday. Then he didn't come on Tuesday. He finally came on Thursday or Friday of that week. The shingles he put on are now visibly coming up off the roof. I can tell they are the shingles he put down because they don't match the existing ones. I can't decide whether to try and call them again or call a new company. This has been a huge headache. I would never recommend these guys.

This is the third time I've hired Chief Roofing. As previously, the crew was punctual and professional and completed the work in a timely manner. In addition they cleaned my gutters and removed the debris, leaving everything as they had found it. I highly recommend this company!

I have two independent structures.  I have my main house, which they replaced probably three or four years ago, and then I have an upper level garage - a separated garage and carport.  I don't know how they can improve because that's why I got them both times.  They come in, they can do it in a single day, they clean up after themselves very well, I like their quality.  I can say that I haven't seen any leaking, I haven't seen any problems.  They use one of the nicer end roofing products; they have a range of roofing products and I admit I picked the upper end for that.  These were architectural style shingles; they look good.  They were always pleasant; they helped me pick out colors.  Their staff has been helpful in working with me.  Scheduling hasn't been a problem, but then my schedule's pretty open anyway.  They're a local people and that was important for me too - a local business and I wanted to support them. They worked very well with me.

This was the first time that I'd been exposed to them.  I tried looking them up on Angie's List, I got some recommendations, I talked to a fellow who told me about how he installed roofs.  Like I said, they're local so I got to go to their office in Hillsboro and meet the staff.  His receptionist was very good in working with me at getting documents and signatures and anything else that they needed and setting up appointments.  They had another lady there that worked with me in the color and the style of the shingles, which I really liked because at that time, I had no idea what I was looking at.  I got the very highest end asphalt shingles for the house - and a very steep roofed house.  And I also had them finish the guttering around the house - enclosed gutters - so they put all of that on.  As I said, they cleaned up very well behind themselves.  If I remember correctly, it still took them a day.  And they had walk-throughs; they send somebody over and they follow us, and we walk the area.  So, I liked them.  Just go ahead and put A's for everything.  I would use them again and I would recommend them to somebody who is looking for a roofer.

They were really good. They did their job as requested and efficiently and at a reasonable price. I think it was just 1 person came out to do the work. It took a short time to repair the roof. They left the area fine. They were nice and professional.

So then the next year - probably less than a year - there was a really violent storm and a tree branch, a really massive tree branch - broke off and pierced the roof, came through it.  So we called them up and they said well like we're totally booked, totally booked, but since we had been customers the year before, they actually sent out their crew for the repair on Thanksgiving.  I don't recall the cost; it was expensive.  We decided to go very high end, which was a choice.  It was great.  We've had no problems with the roof.  For price, they weren't the cheapest, so I'd give them a B.  I think sending out the crew for the repair on Thanksgiving was pretty stellar.  They were punctual and they cleaned up very well too, and they were professional.

Wonderful experience. Arrived on time with an experienced, efficient crew. Completed the job in one day and left the area in perfect condition.

Very well. A year later a lot of my neighbors were having their roofs replaced due to storm damage. I called them to check on my roof and they came quickly to inspect it at no charge.

Services were wonderful; they fixed our problem; answered all our questions in great detail and were very helpful about what would be required to replace the roof when we decided to do so in the future. They were prompt in arriving and checked to make sure all vents were properly sealed, not just the current ones causing problems. I would recommend them to anyone needing help with their roof.

The owner, Mr. Melvin Barnes made sure the work done met his exacting expectations. He even fixed a few minor unknown flashing issues before they became major issues a few years down the road. We will definitely use this entity again in a few years. Organization is very customer friendly and patient with questions and options.

Gutter work was perfectly done, area cleaned up when done. Small issue with guard installation, immediate response and corrective action. Very satisfied.

I had seen recommendations for Chief Roofing on Angie’s List and Nextdoor so had them out to assess potential hail damage on the roof and advise. They were very upfront and straightforward throughout the whole process and very knowledgeable and forthcoming about the steps that would follow once it was determined that there was sufficient roof damage to call my insurance. The same guys came back to meet with the assessor and discuss the various options available for the replacement job. We had some weather delays scheduling the work but the office staff were very helpful/flexible and worked with me to find a time that best fit around my family and the crew that did the work were very courteous, respectful, (tolerant of my two little kids constantly gawking, waving and yelling at them) and did a great job! One thing that always stands out for me in these sorts of dealings is when I feel like I’m getting an honest answer and not just the sales pitch. I’m always happier to hear “I don’t know the answer to that, I’ll check and get back to you” over making something up to make the sale. Happy to recommend Chief Roofing and would use them again.

This review is long overdue. The Chief Roofing staffwas very courteous, friendly and professional. We got several estimates, they were not the least expensive but not the highest either and came on the recommendation of several of our neighbors. They provided several references and once we narrowed our shingle color down to 2 or 3, they provided addresses of houses for us to go look at to make our final choice.Once we selected the final color the job was scheduled. They showed up on time and got right to work. We were amazed at how much they got done on day one. A smaller staff came back the next day to complete the job. When the job was finished, outside of the new roof you could hardly tell they were here. There was no debris (or nails) left anywhere in the yard. We would recommend them without reservation.
