Gil, Nick, and Scott were courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. They were always "cleaning as they went along" and after each day (3 days of work total), you wouldn't even know they were there.

On time, clean, took pictures, made recommendations, installed a cover for ash chute, cleaned up.

I bought the pipe and arranged a time for them to return next time they were in the area. This appointment was changed several times at their request. Each time it was rescheduled, I asked that they phone me before arriving so that I could kennel the dogs and not engage in business conference calls which would be interrupted (I have a home office). A different crew from the one that did the cleaning just showed up without notice. Before starting the repair, they asked if I was quoted a price. I said no. I was not expecting to be charged for 15 minutes worth of work on an easily accessed area that could have been done during the cleaning, especially for a repeat customer that was charged $300 for each service. Upon being told it would be $200, I dismissed them. <br /> No one called from the front office to apologize or offer to install the pipe at no charge as a favor to a good customer. No one seems to have been embarrassed about trying to rip me off.  <br /> To be honest, their work was okay, but I fault them on their business tactics. They will never do my house again or get a recommendation. <br />

Had some concerns about my wood stove - gasket sealing, safety. Had them come out to clean the stove pipe, inspect the wood stove, and clean a fireplace chimney. Staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and professional. Told me the fireplace chimney didn't need cleaning, and that the wood stove gaskets were fine. Cleaned the stove pipe and left no mess. Will definitely use them in the future. <br />

Even though they cost more than some previous services I had used, I decided to use this service because they have good customer reviews on another page. I regret that now. While the service man showed up on time and did not leave a mess in my living room, I was displeased with the following outcomes: <br /> 1. That he had to re-seal the joint between the stove and the chimney was unsettling, and then he used a red sealant (I had used a dark gray sealant before so that it would blend with the stove & pipe). It was applied unevenly and is unattractive. <br /> 2. It was clear that the stove had been shoved around more than previous times by te marking on the tile surface where the stove stands. This took some work on my part to remedy. <br /> 3. The automatic blower would no longer work automatically. It had been jostled from its place. I have not yet gotten it to work again (it has to be mounted in a particular way for the thermal switch to respond correctly). <br /> 4. In the fall when we had heavy rains, I discovered that rain was getting into the metal chimney pipe (and then leaking on the floor below). When the weather cleared I went on the roof and discovered that the Chimney Doctor has not replaced any of the screws that secured either the cap or the the last section of pipe. They were just stuck together and were the only place the rain could have leaked into the pipe. <br /> <br /> I just found the phone numbers (I wasn't sure of the name until I found the documentation) so I have not called and I waited to post this review until I knew I had the correct company. If I have any satisfaction with my complaints I will update this post. At the moment I could not recommend this company.

They seemed professional. They came highly recommended and they had good reviews online. They were pretty reasonably priced and they were good. They were on time and clean. They specialize only in chimneys like building, rebuilding and refacing the chimneys. Our chimney crown was falling apart and they rebuilt it. It was painted with some kind of stucco that started to chip off so we had to remove that and they refaced the whole thing with a veneer stone. The price was a lot more than what I would have liked to pay, but we got what we paid for. We got some lower estimates from some fly-by-night companies which were unprofessional and not licensed. We felt like The Chimney Doctor were the only people that knew what they were talking about. We didn?t want to get the general contractor out because we figured this would need some specialized experience. Their punctuality was very good since they were there on time every time.

THEIR WORK WAS FINE. THEY SHOWED UP RIGHT WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD. THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES WHEN THEY WERE DONE. I ALSO THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY NICE.
