Roof - Clean
I wrote a review that they did a good job on the premium package for the roof moss removal and gutters cleaned. However, when they left they said the tiny bits of dead moss which was on every composite roof tile would fall off in 6 months. It didn't. When I called to see if they could come back and clean it, they were going to charge me! He said I purchased the premium roof cleaning moss removal package but it didn't mean they would get all the moss off. Six months later, my roof has never looked fabulous. Seeing that other negative review, it makes ne wonder about their quality control.

When dealing with composite asphalt shingles, tiny bits of dead moss cannot be removed instantly with mechanical tools, brushes, or pressure without causing permanent damage to the roof, stripping away protective granules, and voiding manufacturer warranties. Because instant physical removal causes long-term damage, our premium roof cleaning package utilizes an Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA)-approved soft-wash treatment. This is the exact process detailed in the estimate you accepted and agreed to prior to service. The soft wash kills the moss at its root structure, and the remaining dead particles weather off naturally over time with rain and wind. While weather conditions can vary how quickly those residual bits wash away, your service is backed by our 5-Year Roof Cleaning Warranty. Under this warranty, if any moss persists, we gladly return to re-treat the area at no charge. It sounds like there was a miscommunication when you called our office regarding how your warranty applies, and I apologize for that frustration. We stand behind our work, and I would be more than happy to send a technician back out to apply a complementary re-spray on those remaining bits of moss. Roof - Clean
Our roof was full of moss. We had use Chinook before and we called them again about the roof. They said it was still under warranty so they would come out and do a "deluxe" cleaning of the gutters and respray the roof. We said we needed a cleaning as well and it was booked as such. The techs were to arrive between 11:30 - 1:30 PM. They came after 2 PM and that was after I called Chinook. They started work at 2:15 and left a little after 3 PM. The roof had not been cleaned but sprayed only. I called and asked why the roof was not cleaned, and I was told the spray would kill the moss and it might "take awhile depending on the thickness of the moss". I needed the moss removed and then sprayed as the moss is starting to lift up shakes. And for 0ne hour of work, late arrival and a pretty half-assed job this cost me close to $500. Beware! If you are asking for a roof cleaning, be sure you are going to get a roof cleaning. No more will I patronize them. Their QC has declined.

Asphalt shingle manufacturers and the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) explicitly state that instant, aggressive moss removal?using high-pressure washers, hard brushes, or scrapers?causes severe structural damage to shingles. When moss has grown underneath shingles and lifted them up, forcibly removing it immediately tears away protective granules, breaks the underlying adhesive bond, and can cause shingle loss. An aggressive instant removal can strip a decade or more off the expected 30-to-50-year lifespan of your roof and void any valid manufacturer warranties. To protect your investment, Chinook Services strictly adheres to ARMA-approved soft-wash standards. We apply a specialized treatment designed to kill the moss and its root system?including growth under the shingle edges?stopping active growth in its tracks. Once killed, the moss breaks down and weathers off naturally over time, protecting your roof's integrity. This manufacturer-required soft-wash process?along with clear expectations on timeline?was detailed in the estimate and FAQ you agreed to prior to service. I've used Chinook for several years: for window cleaning, roof cleaning, power washing concrete patios, and gutter cleaning. They are very professional; communicate about the day of service; clean up completely after; do a great job, easy to pay, with cheerful, courteous employees. Ed and Eli were very respectful and professional. I will hire Chinook for Spring window cleaning next. They charge reasonable fees, too. As a single homeowner who is retired and on a modest income, I appreciate that.

Arrived on time. Michael was knowledgeable and transparent about what stains were likely and unlikely to come out. He confirmed the estimate after our walk-through before starting work as we were unsure when discussing our own estimate of room sizes over the phone when booking. Excellent job on our back staircase which was stained from years of dog climbing up.
Was our first time using Chinook. Good price. Will use for windows and gutters next.

They showed up within their ETA window, cleaned the roof, treated it for moss, cleaned up and left with no drama. Exactly what I was looking for. They aren't a roofing company, so no lectures about the condition of my roof and no upsell for roof repairs or roofing products.

The two people who arrived to do the work were pleasant. They cleaned the debris off my roof and out of my gutters, treated the roof to kill the (light) moss, and used a hose to make sure my gutters were draining properly. As it turned out, one of them isn't. They told me that one seemed to be clogged past the point where the downspout went into the ground. They also showed me a cell phone picture of a roof board that was a bit rotten and was starting to peel away... it was also possible to see the board from the ground once they pointed it out. Neither of those problems were things they could repair, so I was very appreciative that they took the time to let me know about them. I feel like they represented their company well, and I will likely do business with them again.

Matt, texted us shortly before arrival. He explained his services, the expected outcome, and the cost. He was quick, efficient, and our carpets are beautiful and **STAIN FREE**. Jim and Ian came to our house to perform a āPremium Roof Cleaning.ā I specifically chose Chinook Services because of their great reputation, fair pricing and that they perform the cleaning process that is recommended by ARMA/GAF. They called ahead, showed up on time, and did a fantastic job. Both of them were respectful, courteous, hardworking and pleasant. They described what they would be doing, how it works and what I should expect. They answered all of my questions and made sure I was aware of the ā5 year no new mossā warranty. Iām glad I chose Chinook Services and I wouldnāt hesitate to have them perform more services in the future. I highly recommend them.

They did a great job and were very quick and efficient. They even negotiated a lower price because we didn't need our gutters cleaned, since they were going to be replaced the next week. We have had Chinook Services work on our home a few times and have been pleased. Most recently, their crew cleaned the roof and gutters, washed the house and windows. I've never had a house washed before this, so I wasn't sure how effective it would be. But I was extremely pleased with the results. The crew was punctual and professional. Only wish I had known about the Angie's List discount! Would certainly hire again.
