Choice Home Builders LLC (Mack Brazell and associates) was the general contractor for a repair job at our mother’s home in Northeast Columbia. If you want an honest, reliable and reasonable contractor – call Mack Brazell. The scope of the project was to repair a roof/siding leak; and install new wall/ceiling sheetrock and flooring where leak damage had occurred. After contacting several others, Mack is the only one who told us he COULD do it and WOULD do it! 1. Quality of work performed. The quality of work done was superior. Throughout the project, we were impressed with Mack’s commitment to generating a top-quality product. He really cared about doing the job right! He identified the problem and worked quickly to stop a long-term roof leak right before Hurricane Florence hit SC. Repairs to the roof, ceilings and walls was perfect. Mack and associates were extremely professional, courteous, and respectful of our mother’s home and her availability. 2. Integrity and professionalism. Kept his word, kept us informed, was trustworthy and dependable. These attributes were greatly appreciated – especially in today’s world of shoddy repairmen. He always called before he showed up to inform us when he was coming. 3. Value. Choice Home Builders provided great work at a reasonable price. Mack went above and beyond what he quoted us…..we were pleasantly surprised at the amount we actually paid. In summary, Mack Brazell is reliable and trustworthy builder who can repair or construct any type of residential building. I have known Mack for almost 2 years now and I think we hit a jackpot. He and his crew were on time, flexible, professional and not to mention attended to our every needs. His price was very reasonable and craftsmanship is extra ordinary. He emphasizes so much attention to detail that the finished product looks gorgeous. We got our basement finished and some work on the house and it looks amazing. I have and would recommend Mack without any reservation. It was a pleasure to work with him and his crew and hope to work some more in the future.

It could have been a complete disaster. There were only three months to empty and prepare our home of 20 years to go on the market before we had to leave the area. At first, we tried to do many of the repairs ourselves until my husband broke his foot. It was only after we had hired a realtor that we realized the need for outside help. We interviewed Mack Brazell and a second contractor to take care of the remaining repairs. Since we were looking for a contractor who could handle the wide variety of repairs that were necessary, we selected only those who were also home builders. Of the two, Mack asked the more astute questions about the repairs, impressing us as one with the experience and broad knowledge that was needed. He was understanding of our situation and willing to complete the work in our absence, a risky proposition. In spite of a lengthy delay in emptying the house, Mack never wavered in his commitment to the contract. Other contractors might have tried to back out of the agreement when the delay began to impede work on his other contracts, but Mack never gave any indication of desiring to do so. He and his crew must have worked a good deal of overtime to begin working on our house during free time while fulfilling other contracts. Once our house was completely empty and the crew was available full-time, the work went as originally anticipated. Mack and his team not only did everything that was agreed upon, but they also took care of a number of small tasks that we could not complete ourselves at no extra cost. In addition, Mack offered to pressure wash the house for a reasonable fee, saving us the difficulty of hiring another professional from a distance. When Mack and his crew were finished, the house was completely prepared for showing, as if they had built the house themselves. Mack then did a walk though with our realtor demonstrating the work's completion and quality. Furthermore, after completing his contractual commitments, and after this month's historic freezing temperatures, Mack checked on a potential water leak reported by a neighbor, checked for other possible leaks, turned off the water, later returned to check for issues, and reported one leak to our realtor and to us. We are so grateful to have worked with Choice Home Builders, and Mack, especially. They are conscientious workers, detail-oriented, practical, trust-worthy, and hard-working. Mack has been gracious under a great deal of pressure and his workmanship as well as his ethics are exceptional. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.

It went very well. Excellent work! The workers came in and did the job, cleaning up as they went. Once they removed the wall, they repaired the wall, ceiling and hardwood floor. And they even moved the electrical outlet that was previously in the removed wall to another wall. The job was done in 2 days. I am already planning on calling this company for my next home project!

Mack designed, ordered materials, provided labor and finished the job in a timely manner (2 weeks and 3 days).  <br>I paid 1/3 up front, 1/3 when the walls and ceiling was complete and the final 1/3 when I was completely satisfied with the results.  <br>I did go down to the county office to purchase the building permit. 

Contacted MR Brazell & described carport's deteriorating condition. Within 24-hours MR Brazell arrived & provided an on scene eval of the structure + cost estimate for repair. The next day work was begun. Both sides of the roof's overhang were cleaned & reattached. Vinyl tiles were replaced as necessary. Rotting wood was removed from the weather side of the carport & replaced with new treated planking. A drip cap was installed along the lower edge of the entire roof to prevent further weather/moisture damage. The project's cost estimate/completion date was 100% accurate. The damage to the structure was the result of careless construction by the original contractor.

I had many things that needed to be done for updates on my home. So very pleased with the quality of all the services I received. Many items taken care of that I don't think he even charged me for. He is definately a professional and a perfectionist. Have used his services over the years and k ow that it will be done right and I can trust him completely. Did an awesome job on my fro t door, changed it from a double door to a single wide door, love it. Fixed a leak in my shower fixture that had been leaking for a long time. Had a double cabinet pantry, he built sliding drawers in both of them, love it! My time and new wider baseboard perfect!, very considerate of not leaving messes in between times of coming. Always trusted that whatever he would do would be done right. I was pleased with the cost of he did. <br />

The front porch is now complete and looks wonderful. The back deck is complete and we love it! I am amazed at the cabinets and our new island, with beautiful granite. I cannot believe the transformation that has happened and we aren't even finished yet. Mack gave us a timeline and it has been followed just as he promised. We will be in our home by the end of this month. I would not hesitate to recommend, or use this company again. From a remodel to new construction you cannot go wrong with Choice Home Builders, LLC.

Our home has been transformed! We are so excited about the new cabinets, new granite counters, a beautiful front porch, a new back deck, new floors, new windows, new paint, and did I mention granite counters :) A dream come true for our family and I respect someone who is willing to help someone save money instead of over charging them.

The work crew came early each day, they first put in the insulation. Then they cut and installed the metal roofing sheets. Work was slowed because of rain; however, someone showed up in the rain and did what they could each and every day. In additional to what we agreed upon additional work was no problem like repairing the roof on the porch and fixing a leak in the chimney . The work crew cleaned the area each day before they left the job site. <br> <br>We highly recomend them and would use them again.

EXCELLENT! Mr. Brazenly contacted us and came to our home for the estimate within 48 hours of initial contact. Started the project 3 weeks later (we went on vacation for a week otherwise they would have started sooner). Job completed within 2 weeks. Above and beyond for all work done. Attention to every detail. Very professional and friendly. Cannot say enough about Choice Home Builders, Mr. Brazell, Roger, and Martine. Excellent and exceeded our expectations! Called Max and set time for initial review of project.  Max was very prompt and arrived at time to meet. Max gave valuable insight and suggestions. Max's quote on the driveway work beat the competition. I had another company ready to handle the culvert work. After speaking with Mr. Brazell , I ask him to quote culvert work as well. I went with Max on both the driveway and culvert work. Max stayed in constant communication via email or phone, and always replied in a prompt manner. <br /> The construction work went according to plan and Max communicated every step of the way. <br /> My new driveway looks great. I had a potential water runoff issue but Max's team did a superb job of sloping the drive so has never been an issue even in the recent downpours in the area. <br /> I am well pleased with Choice Home Builders and am expecting to utilize his services again in the future. <br /> <br />

Mack and his guys were absolutely wonderful to work with. Mack was so helpful with tips and advice as we were making plans for a major renovation of the house. He spent several hours with us just getting everything planned. His crew was professional, polite and very neat. They cleaned up after themselves each day and put up with us homeowners who were on site for the entire job. Just can't say enough good things! Will call again when we have another big job to do in this ongoing house renovation.

First, let us say this: We would not hesitate for a moment to call Mack & his guys from Choice Home Builders if we had some work we wanted done on the house. They are totally professional, they do exactly what they say they are going to do, exactly when they say they are going to do it, at the price they quoted from the beginning, and they do it to perfection. Flawless. Really, really impressive work. We wish ALL contractors were like this. <br /> Our story - We came home from a 10 day vacation, and found our bedroom ceiling was partially collapsed onto the floor, and water was dripping from the ceiling fan/light in the middle of the room. The carpet was completely soaked. It was a disaster area. <br /> From the time they started, the crew from Choice Home Builders. LLC, were completely professional, very efficient, and still very friendly. They asked any questions in a very timely fashion, and would then go right back to working on the room. They had no objections about us popping in to see how things were going, and ALWAYS, things were going <em>very</em> well. They got rid of all the damaged materials, and replaced sections or things that had been damaged by the water very conscientiously. If it was possible it was water-damaged, it was replaced. No questions asked about that -  if it needed to go, it went.  <br /> We had a complex, custom-installed closet system that had to come down for painting. The took down all of the custom closet system, numbered it, and after repainting the closet & trim, they replaced this system so it was <em>exactly</em> the way it was when they took it down. Phenomenal. No errors, just very good work. <br /> They replaced the large section of drywall in the ceiling that had gotten soaked/wet, and replaced it. It looks better than the original ceiling did. They replaced the insulation they had to pull down that had gotten wet, not just above the ceiling, but below the house, as well. I didn't even think about the insulation under the house, but they did, and they took care of it. Some of the wall required repainting, so they repainted the entire bedroom & the closet, so the paint would match. It's a very professional-lookiing job, once again something I would not have thought of, but they did. The entire ceiling was repainted. We were told to go to Lowe's and pick out whatever ceiling fan we wanted within a given price range. The price range was very generous; we had a very nice, very expensive Hunter fan that was ruined, and we were able to replace it with another very nice, high-end Hunter ceiling fan/light combination. The Choice Home Builders team got the ceiling fan & light put up and working very shortly after they finished the ceiling. We were told to go pick out new carpeting for the entire bedroom and the closet. Again, the price range we were given was more than generous enough for us to choose a carpet that was appealing, and of very good quality to replace the carpet that was ruined. The carpet installation team was 100% professional, got the carpet all laid, seamed, and stretched, in a half a day. There is a pattern in the weave of the carpet that required the installers to match up the seams; while they were still working on the carpet, I knew where one of the seams had to be. I could NOT find it. I looked very, very hard, and had to actually go to the carpet at the edge of the wall to find where one length of carpet ended, and the next began. The layout and size of the room required THREE such seams, and I simply cannot find them. Just WOW!!! <br /> I would say that pretty much defines our entire experience with Choice Home Builders - we have not had to worry about anything. No worries about when things will be done, when to expect someone to come and do some job in the room - we were absolutely kept in the loop, we were aware at all times who was working in the room, and what they were doing. We've been allowed to watch the progress, haven't had to make any kind of comment or make any kind of remarks other than what fan/light we wanted, what color paint, and which carpet we wanted. Everything else ran as smooth as silk. <br /> The head of Choice Home Builders, Mack Brazell, checked in with us on a regular basis. He wanted to know how we thought things were going, was everything going to our satisfaction, were we happy with his foreman & his crew - just making sure that we were completely happy with all the work being done, and how it was being done. And resoundingly YES, we were thrilled with this company from Day One, until the crew put the furniture & furnishings back in the room the day after the carpet went down. There were no long delays, no wondering about anything. These guys work like a well-oiled machine. And they want what they have done for you to be as good if not better than what they would do in their own home - we just always had the feeling they CARED about the mess that had been the bedroom, and their pride in giving us back a master bedroom that is - honestly speaking, now - NICER than the room was before the water damage. <br /> <br />

<p>After the pleasant experience I had with the previous project, I had high expectations, and they met them!  They began the work when Mack said they would, and finished in the time promised.  Everything was done to professional standards, and looks great.  Martin and Ariel WORK!  From the time they began at 8:00am until they left in the afternoon, they worked without stopping, and they are perfectionists in what they do.  I didn't make it easy on them - I bought light fixtures that needed modification to fit where I wanted them, but we made them work. I bought decorative corbels for my fireplace surround that were too wide for the mantel top, so they made a new one (for a bit extra) and finished it with a nice edge.  They kept work areas neat, and swept up at the end of each day.  My skittish cats even became comfortable having them around!</p> <p>I still have my upstairs rooms to remodel, and you can bet I will call on Mack again.  I would recommend them without hesitation.</p> <p> </p> <br />

How did it go?  I have been doing a LOT of repair and work on my home, and this was by far the best contractor I have worked with.  Mack was a pleasure to deal with.  He gave me a detailed estimate of work to be done.  After a bit of weather-related delay, he gave me a good two weeks advance notice of scheduling the work.  He and his crew then showed up exactly when they said they would, finished the job in the time planned, and did exactly what they said they would do.  The work is solid and professional, and looks good.  The crew was courteous and professional, and kept the work area confined and neat.  | |Would I use them again?  You bet!  I plan to have them work on the house itself after the first of the year.  I was almost scared to post this review, because everyone would want to steal them away from me!  But yes, please give them lots of your business, AFTER they are done at my place.

Mack Brazell built a home for me back in 2004-2005.  I loved working with him that it was no question in my mind who to use for a home remodeling when I got remarried and needed to add a bedroom.  Mack was able to add two additional rooms for us on the second story of our house.  One of the rooms had a full bath and walk in closet.  This job was over $100,000 and was done quickly and the quality of work is top notch!!  He was very responsive to additional requests we had along the way and was very easy to work with. <br /> His workers kept our home very clean while working on the additions.  Our experience was really great with Mack and his crew.  We will definitely use Choice Home Builders again for any home construction needs. <br />

Mack and his crew did a great job. Started the project on time and finished a week early. The estimate was fair and very accurate. His crew worked long days, were polite and easy to deal with. It has been a few weeks since completion and we are very happy with the work, it definitely improved our space. Mack said his goal was to for it to look seamless as if the improvement never happened and the work crew had not been there. I must say he achieved that goal. Our experience was a very good one. Mack was always a phone call away and kept up with the progress personally. I also must say it was comforting to have the entire project completed with one call to Choice home builders and not having to call a roofer, an electrician and other professionals for this project. I plan to use choice home builders in the future for further home improvements to come. <br />

Being a Master Home builder; Mack Brazell, owner of Choice Home Builders L.L.C. came out personally to review and estimate what would be involved for my bathroom remodel, and what the job would encompass. My home and bathroom was original to the home built in the 50's, we assumed the worst as far as what might need to be done. Right on the mark; Mack concluded that there was damage over time to the sub-floor and the supports under the house. His men removed all damaged material, restored and fortified the supports and put in a new sub-floor. He brought in his Plumber to reroute and update all the water connections. He moved the commode and vanity to maximize space, and created a beautiful spa like Shower with glass enclosure. He added at my request, a pocket door to maximize the space in my Master bedroom even though he feels they are more of a hassle to install. The only drawback to the whole project was the amount of time it took. <br />       <br /> Due to all the unknowns of a remodel, make sure you plan for extra time. Don't plan any vacations or important functions too close to such a project. In my case there were no such events so all was well. The workers were very courteous and paid close attention to cleaning up any construction material, as well as sweeping and vacuuming after each day's work.  Any work I need to have done in the future will be with Mack and his crew. <br />

Mack and his crew did a fantastic job.   The work was done quickly and with great professionalism.   The worksite was kept clean and the crew was always very curtious and on time.   The project came in on budget and all items on the original agreement ere completed.  It was a pleasure doing business with Mack and his folks and he even brought us a beautiful wine and cheese gift basket when the work was completed !   Use him again?   Absolutely! <br />

The process went pretty quick once it started. There was a bit of inconvenience due to the layout but it was well worth it.
