Excellent. Exceeded expectation. Well thought out design not just a basic staircase. I am thrilled. Everyone has commented on how wonderful the stairs look!

A large 60+foot tree fell on our garage earlier this winter. Jim's company immediately came out to help support the beams and cover the roof while they worked on getting the plans and permit in order to begin the construction process. He worked with our insurance company to make sure everything was handled and paid quickly. We appreciated Jim's responsiveness, attention to detail, and his willingness to listen and take the time to explain the process.

Our remodel by Christian Construction was amazing! I had an idea in my head and with the expert help of Jim Christian and his talented team, my expectations were exceeded on every aspect of our remodel! Our 1984 home presented some challenges due to existing design flaws. Christian Construction met every challenge with outstanding creative solutions! Not only do we love our new dream bathroom, but all our friends and family are amazed by the incredible transformation - truly amazing!!!

The great joy in working with Christian Construction is the dedication of the entire team to a quality product and customer satisfaction every step of the way. Our end product is absolutely stunning! This remodel represented some challenges due existing problems in our early 1980s home. Jim Christian masterfully addressed every issue by discussing it with us and presenting optimal solutions for every challenge. We are thrilled with our new master bath!

We are enjoying our remodeled kitchen and bathroom very much. Jim finished the project within the timeline he promised. He was very helpful in picking out the materials and in coordinating colors. He was always very flexible with our time constraints. The contractor invoices that he gave to us were correct and contained all the information and documentation that was needed for the remodeling. Jim responded within a reasonable time to our texts and telephone calls. We particularly liked Richard, his worker, who was always punctual, worked earnestly, and went above and beyond to help us when little problems unexpectedly occurred. We have had Jim do a few smaller jobs over the years, opened a wall, converted and moved our laundry room and a small bathroom and had been pleased with his work. So, we felt comfortable with having him do a large remodel on our kitchen and master bath. In the beginning it was fine, his employees were good, professional and prompt. Then, it turned out that we had to scale back because the amount of our loan came back less than expected and we asked him to work with us on our new budget. He did not. He went way over our budget and we had to scrape funds to finish the project. Things that I had wanted that he did not like I found he talked at us until we agreed to his ideas. I realized this when I began to wonder how I had agreed to things I did not want. I was talked into expensive substandard cabinetry, flooring that I hate and things that I had wanted but ended up weirdly set up ie: a microwave cubby I wanted in the cabinet that is higher than any of the other cabinets (I am short) and has a shelf that sticks out too far and I end up hitting it when I put things in the microwave. Or when I asked for extra plugs in the vanity, he placed one under the cabinet that had a sliding storage placed in front of it so it could not be used. We moved the slider ourselves but I still don't use that plug and have to use an adapter on top of the vanity. In the end, I'm still angry, feeling that I had overpaid, not gotten exactly what I wanted. I was not going to write a review but, I specifically told Jim he could not use pictures of my house on his site but, out of curiousity and knowing that Jim does not listen even though he narcissistically stated that he remembers everything, I checked. And guess what? PICTURES OF MY HOUSE ARE ON HIS SITE! Take them down, Jim! I told you you did not have my permission to use them. Hence, this review. I would never recommend Jim to anyone.

My review is directed to all parties, but mostly women. As a single woman it has been my experience that as a rule men believe women don't know a lot about construction and many don't, but my experience with Jim was he treated me with respect and didn't make me feel stupid when I asked my questions. I was very comfortable with him as an individual and he was very fair in his pricing and his years of experience were very obvious in the professionalism of his work. I would hire him again in a heart beat. He will be fair, honest and most importantly he has integrity and respect for you as a woman and is open to listening to your concerns and offering the best solution possible for the best end result. He was on time and he cleaned up everything when the job was done. Trust me you will be happy with his work.

Jim put off other work that he already had scheduled in order to fix my structural issue at my house. The ceiling was dropping down in my living room and could have been a catastrophe. He made sure to shore up my living room so that there was no additional damage. It started raining and I developed a leak in the roof and Jim went and got some caulking and went up and stopped the leak. My living room now looks as if nothing happened here. Jim also stayed up late into the night preparing drawings that the county required. He provided EXCELLENT craftsmanship. If you need an excellent contractor use Jim Christian!

I have never had such a positive experience with a general contractor. Jim Christian's, owner, work was superior! He provided on going updates to progress and was clean and efficient! Most important, the end product was well done, finished on time and at a fair price. Thank you Jim

Service was good, Jim and his team took care of my grandfathers house after an electrical fire. They got the job done fairly quickly without too much hassle. I would recommend them to others!

Jim the owner is extremely knowledgeable, pleasant and responsive. The work was completed as specified and on time bar one small hiccup which was resolved very quickly. Even though I had paid Jim in full, when I called and explained what was still needed he came back without question and spent another two hours, with no extra charge. He has a vast amount of knowledge and I Highly recommend him if you want the job done right. you will not go wrong with Christian Construction.

I expected an estimate for a decent amount of work after months of a draining massive home project renovation that wasn't easy on me or my wife. I'm sure and any contractor could have told me there were a million things that needed to be done, critiqued the work/methods of the previous work, and left me with my head spinning. This was not the case. Jim was extremely punctual. In fact, I was late and he graciously waited and greeted me with a warm smile on his cleanly shaven face. He spent almost two hours walking around my house house with me and really taking the time to get to know the house by patiently listening to me --and listening to what his senses were telling him -- about the house. In the end he made heartfelt recommendations that didn't include his services, painted a clear picture, based on what he learned, for what he felt would be the most beneficial way for us to proceed. Maybe he could see the bags under my eyes, but he even left me with a genuine, carefully non-pretentious, message of how being mindful when facing large projects can be a big help as a homeowner -- even sharing a personal story of dealing prospect of some looming major work he was going to have to undertake at his own home soon. He didn't pay a second's attention to his phone the entire visit, and he refused to take a penny for his time. I think he made my whole week and nothing happened.

I asked for suggestions. He laid out his suggested plan & cost. I hired him and he followed through. Prompt responses and was on time to do the work.

Jim and his crew are always professional and do great quality work. I highly recommend them. We had major structural repair and interior work done by them a few years ago and when it came time to fix our master bath shower I didn't even consider hiring anyone else. In addition to doing beautiful quality work, Jim has an eye for design and always gives great suggestions on aesthetics when I've had doubts. On occasions when a project doesn't go as planned, he always makes sure it is made more than right and sticks to his bid estimates. Our master shower turned out gorgeous. The crew is courteous, professional, and keeps things clean and organized during the job.

Jim was very responsive and provided all the information and options I needed. He began the work ASAP and kept me informed (I work out of the area) as the work progressed. We also agreed to replace the concrete with flagstone paths which overall improves the character and look of the home. Completing this foundation repair, while a significant expense, and the replacing the failing water lines takes a big load off my mind since the house is well built and is now in good shape for further weather events. I have a background in construction management and definitely consider Christian Construction reliable and fair, and the work quality excellent. I would definitely use this firm again.

A spiral staircase was to go over a sewer line. This contractor is not afraid to tackle this project. The contractor built a balcony and wooden staircase 15 years ago. Owner decided to replace wooden staircase with a powder coated iron staircase and handrails to current code. The pole was to be over a 12”x12” concrete square using piers. Only problem was the sewer line was where the pole was to go. The sewer line was covered and wrapped before pouring concrete. Passed building inspection. Two high quality redwood deck boards replaced existing that split. Window frames had dry rot, but replaced. Post for electrical outlet lowered for aesthetics.

Jim's personality was he is very passionate about old quality things and said normally he would send the crew to do the job however Jim took the project on himself, Jim was very meticulous and a true craftsman. The door looks great and is square in a not so square hole its an older home were we live in Fair Oaks. I would recommend Christian Construction.

Professionally done and looks like new.

I immediately contacted my insurance company and had the tree taken off my house and had tarps put on the roof to mitigate damage. Fans and dehumidifiers were used approximately one week to minimize water damage to a bedroom floor and ceiling. A friend recommended Christian Construction because he was very pleased with some major remodeling work the company had done at his home in the past. I met with the general contractor and insurance claim representative and the insurance company had no problem with me having the work done by Christian Construction. The work was extensive, so engineers and designers were involved. Christian Construction gave me suggestions regarding new flooring, replacing wallpaper with texturing and painting, etc. The final decisions were mine, but I took their suggestions and I am very pleased with the final results. There were additional items involved [ damage unrelated to the fallen tree ], so I had Christian Construction also take care of those problems. In total, my insurance covered all expenses [except those not involved with my claim], and the payments/funding issues went very smoothly. The city/county inspections went very smoothly as well. Christian Construction, under the management of Jim Christian, is a very professional, customer oriented business. I am very pleased with the final product!

We could not be happier with the work performed by Christian Construction!!! The quality of their work and attention to detail is unsurpassed! Our home was built in 1984 and Christian Construction did an INCREDIBLE job matching the wood color. Their professionalism and superb recommendations on the work made this project so much easier for us as homeowners. Christian Construction has our highest recommendation for home remodeling and repairs! We will use them again for any and all projects on our home!!

We were very happy with the work that Christian Construction performed.    We had a couple of setbacks with a leaking valve in bathroom but they were right on top of it and corrected the problem.   They also had to do some electrical work to get it up to date.  My sisters and I are very happy with how our house has been remodeled.       

Jim was responsive to my call. The house was 25 years old so I wanted it rebuilt and modernized. Jim has plenty of experience with custom homes so he had great ideas. The contract was for $91000. I added about $10000 to the job based on recommendations by Jim. I pulled the water heater and added a tankless water heater. I used a nicer grade of hybrid flooring and glass tile for the kitchen and bathrooms and modern fixtures that really made those rooms look great and I had my big screen tv wall mounted. There were lots of custom touches to his work, Jim's crew of 2 extremely experienced workers and they can build/install anything. The drywall, a/c ducts, flooring and painting was sub-contracted, but Jim had each of those subs back to fix small errors. He has a critical eye, so he noticed things that I didn't but I was glad that he did so I didn't fret about it. The job took longer than I anticipated, but I am very happy with the result. Some of the delay was due to sub-contractor availability. Jim is very easy to work with, polite and professional. I recommend him for any of your needs.

There was quite a mess as the leak had been going on for some time undetected. We had water damage people, water heater people and construction all trying to get their part of the job done. Jim from Christian Construction came in a assessed the damage, cost and timeline. He had his crew there immediately to get estimates on all the areas of damage. Once the water was dried out and new construction could start, they were there rebuild garage section first so new water heater could be installed. Everything was done quickly and efficiently so we would have less down time. From the beginning Christian Construction was on top of and honest about the "down time". Since the cabinets on the garage wall side of the kitchen were damaged, they were torn out and Jim had a custom cabinet maker come in and build new cabinets and they matched perfectly. We even added in pull out shelves. Care was taken when tearing out or replacing to avoid further damage. Floors and walls fully covered and when the cabinets had to be refurbished, every effort was taken to keep odors and dust at a minimum. Overall, the garage/kitchen connecting wall, water heater area, work bench area, were re-done on the garage side. On the inside we had a hall closet with damage and it was repaired and new carpeting put down. The kitchen wall inside was repaired and new cabinet put it, all cabinets were refurbished, new pantry pull outs and updated drawers were installed. They also put in a new granite counter as the old counter had to be torn out as collateral damage from the torn out kitchen cabinet and a new undermount sink. The kitchen was repainted and as a favor they replaced some kitchen lights. Having your kitchen torn out is never a pleasant time but the contractor stayed on the timeline promised and got us back to normal in a decent amount of time. The outcome is a beautiful new kitchen. Everyone we worked with from Christian Construction was friendly, professional and treated our home with respect. I know I drove Jim Christian crazy with my many phone calls but he took it all in stride, even when I called after hours. I would definitely recommend Christian Construction!
