Terry did a great job on fixing the foundation (walls) of our house. This is the third time Terry has worked on our house - each time has been a great experience. His follow up is timely and great. I wouldn't trust anyone else with our house.

We had some major issues with the foundation of our basement .

They did an outstanding job. I was very satisfied with their work. They were very easy to work and I would definitely hire them again an recommend them.

Exceptional from beginning to end. Chubb came out right away and accessed the situation . On his next visit he provided us with illustrations and thoroughly explained the technique he would be using to make the repair. We were completely satisfied with the way the job was handled. Chubb Construction performed an exceptional analysis of my situation. I had representatives from several companies come to my residence for estimates. I had everything from wall anchors & wall mounts, to sump pumps with inside drainage. Terry was very helpful and took time to explain the work that he proposed to everyone I asked him to. Terry and Dan returned phone calls promptly. There are 2 phases. This is the first. Based on my experience with his crew, I am looking forward to the 2nd phase. The crew was professional, respectful of my property, timely, and friendly. Dan kept me apprised of their progress showed me their work daily. Chubb reinforced my basement wall and repaired my cracks. The work was outstanding and efficient. I would recommend Chubb Construction without hesitation.

Exceptional from start to finish. Owner Terrance Chubb presented their process in a very professional manner providing us with a multitude of information and the confidence to select them for our home repair. The crew, Craig, Seth and Dan were exceptional to work with, welcoming and answering every question we had throughout the process. Their process from setup to repair to cleanup was terrific. The work performed was done in a very professional manner. The work crew were very competent, friendly and considerate of our lawn and shrubbery that had to be removed and replanted. I cannot express in words the quality of the works that was done. I have a brick patio. They picked up and replaced all the bricks, the lawn ornamentation and bushes. It was wonderful!!!! The workers were professional, kind, pleasant and dedicated. They made sure all was done to perfection, even making sure the old gas line was updated. I don't think I've ever worked with a company like Chubb. I was given a quote which was a bit higher than a couple of other companies, but covered what the real scope of the work was. This turned out to be a 3 week job with their entire crew and they were phenomenal. from covering the work area to cleaning up every night and everything in between. The owner, Terry, personally intervened when a disgruntled ex-salesperson attempted to cause trouble and threatened us. The job was done perfectly - even our local inspector commented later that most companies don't do this quality of work anymore. If you need any foundation work or waterproofing, this should be your first and only call.

The crew was efficient and did exactly as they proposed: evacuated to the footer tiles, removed and and replaced the drain pipes which were 100% clogged with silt, cleaned the foundation, applied concrete, then tar, re-sloped the footer cove, snaked, flushed and tested the system, back filled with gravel and then top-soil. All this took several days and each day the crew took care to clean the yard, rake up the grass where the plywood and machinery had compressed it, and haul off all soil and debris. They lay plywood across the yard to ameliorate the impact of the machinery. The grass under plywood is beginning to come back and the ground was dry enough that the yard was only slightly depressed. The only casualty was a few plants which were removed without sufficient soil attached to the roots to last through the several days it takes to do this, but they took care to label the pants according to a sketch of the landscaping in order to replant them. The crew was working at a disadvantage in my yard as my neighbors' house is close to mine and they were required to place plywood on the neighbors' yard to run the machinery up to my foundation, but took care only to run the machinery on my yard, which I know made for some tight maneuvering. I appreciate that for the sake of my relationship with my neighbors - my job ended up causing them some disturbance but it was keep to an absolute minimum. Would recommend.

Work was done in a professional manner; covered lawns with plywood, care given in removing and replacing shrubs; excavation was done with do issues, prep work to the service areas was exceptional; the two applications of waterproof cement applied in a through fashion followed be final coat of foundation tar. I was impressed Chubb's cleaned, flushed, and tested remainder of drain system before back filling with clean gravel and topping with soil and seeding. The grass is germinating as I type this review. No issues with management or the crew. Chubbs did work in my first home (per the previous owner) and I had no issues there and that is why I gave the nod to hire Chubb Construction for this job.

Excellent! The crew worked very hard & diligently staying until each daily job was completed and cleaned up. They were always respectful of us and our property. Any concerns we had were addressed and resolved leaving us very satisfied & happy! They were all very kind and completed the project leaving our property looking better than before they started. Even our neighbors were happy! We highly recommend this company!

The Chubb Co. used a compact power digger to reach my clogged footer drain and were very careful to install new PVC pipe at the proper slope to my drain to the street. They put 3 coats of two kinds of sealer on the walls. And they discovered that a previous cement installation had been poured under my back door sill. They corrected this code violation by removing the cement and rebar and rebuilding, with bricks, the top of the foundation under the door sill. They did not charge me extra for this little "surprise". They cleaned and tested the drains that go to the street drains. Additionally they removed, to the first joint, the old driveway concrete and the short sidewalk which is on the same level as the driveway. And they installed two new cleanout pipes where the new work joins the old drains. They kept the area clean after each day's work and answered any questions I had as they proceeded. All four guys were pros at what they did! And they arranged for a local HVAC company to move and reinstall my AC. This was an additional charge. The contract was precise and they did everything as written and even beyond with the rebuild of the door sill. The concrete and last of the topsoil will be installed this Monday or Tuesday.

Chubb Construction performed an excellent analysis of the situation and provided the correction to a poorly installed drainpipe at the corner of the house. Work was quick, impeccable and efficient. Terry returned phone calls promptly. I highly recommend Chubb Construction, and wish Terry was my one of my relatives!

Exquisite professional work. Dan was exceptional in explaining and diagnosing the problem. His crew was professional, friendly, always on time and took extreme care to keep the place clean. Beautiful job on putting landscape back as it was. I can't say enough about how wonderful their customer service is and highly recommend this company. Thank you Dan, William and Gino! Great job!

Chubb Waterproofing is excellent. I can't praise them enough. Excellent work, high professionalism, helpful, competent and knowledgeable as well as considerate and respectful. Everyone involved in the project worked above expectations and provided service of the highest caliber. Even the neighbors praised their professionalism and commented on the thoroughness of the work and service. Coincidently another company was working up the street and the contrast was plainly obvious as well as providing for an easy and timely comparison. My advice is to start with Chubb, and don't be put off by the cost. Let Chubb set the bar for quality and work the other bids from there. With the recent snowmelt and the rains this past week the work was seriously challenged and proved the job well done. I highly recommend Chubb to everyone, and I have.

First of all I wanted to say thanks again. Chubb Construction saved me thousands of dollars. I have purchased an older foreclosed house in the summer and after the first major rain storm discovered several water related issues. Water was coming into the basement through the floor drain, two down spouts were severally clogged with dirt and roots, and water was coming in several places through the foundation walls. I have a good understanding of basic construction projects and tried to fix drainage issues myself. I failed miserably after spending 2 days with best rental equipment I could get. My neighbor (general contractor) tried to help as well and after 5 hours gave up as well. So I had no choice but to start contacting the best rated water proofing professionals in the area. During the whole saga, I have contacted The Plumbing Source, Ohio Basement Systems, Roto-Rooter, Adelios Contracting, Chubb Construction, and Integrity Waterproofing and here is what I got. The Plumbing Source - Plumbing Source office contact and initial follow up was great and very professional. Their plumbers came and snaked two clogged up or damaged waterspouts for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Used the camera to assess the issue as well but they were not successful. They told me that they can stay a few more hours and continue working but the charge would be between $800 and $1200. They also said that most likely clay pipes are damaged and excavation / replacement is needed. I have requested them to give me a quote on excavation/repair project and the senior plumber said that they will be back next week with the guy who can review the project and quote on excavation and drainage replacement. There was no response and no one ever showed up or called back so clearly there is disconnect between field people and a very professional office. Ohio Basement Systems – sent a salesman that had no real construction or waterproofing training. They had the most amazing slick presentation that used every available “Fear, uncertainty and doubt” technique and was a classic “time share” pitch. At the end, I was quoted $35K+ with excavation and they offered a third party financing. Their system is not architecturally sound as it allows for water to come in into the basement but it can be installed without external excavation. They also solicit positive reviews after the sales pitch before they actually do any work through a review aggregator. Roto-Rooter - after confirming on Angies’ List that they will call me to schedule a visit, they never followed up. By this time, we already had 3 major rain storms and all three times basement got flooded so on the second round I contacted Adelios Contracting, Integrity Waterproofing, and Chubb Construction. Adelios Contracting – owner showed up and after a comprehensive walkthrough said that its most likely not a waterproofing but a drainage issue and a $1500 snaking, camera, and mapping service needed. He said that they are currently very busy but that his secretary will be in touch a week after to schedule. Nothing happened but the guy comeback two or three months later. It was too late and issues were already resolved. Integrity Waterproofing – Called back fairly fast after the initial contact but said that they are fully booked for a couple of months to do any kind of new waterproofing projects. They did a very professional initial appointment and the system they suggested was architecturally sound and I was quoted $17,000 with excavation. I did not have an equity line in place at that time nor had the cash to do a project like that. Finally, I got lucky and got a call from the owner of Chubb Construction. He showed up next day and spend over two hours figuring out all possibilities. From the moment he walked in, he said that he is here to find a way to solve my problem at the lowest possible cost and that is the foundation of their outstanding reputation. He determined that we had drainage related problems and basement flooding would most likely go away if we could unclog downspouts, footer drain, and check the whole line to the city storm drain. He said that he had the best crew in town for that and that they will come out when they have a chance but it may be a while as they were also occupied on major waterproofing projects. If they could not do it then no one could and an excavation will be required. Anyway, after a month, his guys finally had a day between the projects and came out. I never seen a more experienced and determined guys. Equipment that they brought was as heavy duty as it gets with large diameter sectional snakes. To be honest, I did not believe that thy would be successful after spending days on this myself and after the Plumbing Source visit. However, they spend whole day fighting the drain clogs and managed to unclog it in 5 places. Drains were full of roots, stones, and dirt. During the process, they did die testing to make sure that all drains are operational. After that we had 2-3 huge rain storms and not a single drop of water came through the footer drains or the walls in the crawl space. I still can’t believe it. Chubb Construction guys went above and beyond on this project and did it for an affordable price. Happy customer typically don’t write reviews but this is the most comprehensive review that I have ever written as Chubb Construction truly deserves it. Thank you again guys and I can honestly recommend Chubb Construction to anyone. You saved my day, probably marriage too, and saved me a lot of money.

Terry and his crew (led by Dan on site) did a fantastic job waterproofing our entire basement, installing an exterior sump pump, and re-landscaping. We had several quotes from several really good companies for this sizable job and we chose Chubb because we really liked how Terry communicated with us during the quoting phase and explained the project. This excellent communication continued throughout the project and through to completion. The day after everything was finished and the crew departed, it rained for a solid 24 hours straight. Our basement stayed completely dry. Had we not waterproofed, we would have been down there with the wet vacs again and cleaning up for days. Couldn't be happier!

Could not have been more pleased with the professional approach from diagnosing the problem through quotation and project completion. Explanation of what needed to be done, how it would be accomplished, and project timeline was clear and easy to understand. Terry was easy to work with and accommodating to our schedule. We recommend CHUBB construction and would not hesitate to use them again.

The good, the bad, and the ugly: 1) We are 100% satisfied with the waterproofing work: the crew was knowledgeable and thorough, and they saved our window wells. 2) We were misled as to the extent of damage that would be caused by the work. They said they could save most of the landscaping but the crew on day 1 said that was impossible. Lots of sandstone breakage was not anticipated - I ultimately had to pay a contractor to pull up a patio and relay it to spare it from destruction. 3) Extra costs I incurred with other contractors rectifying landscape and patio damage made this project up to 140% of Chubb's price. That said, I would hire them again, but would go into it with eyes opened and prepared for extra costs.

They were very careful in removing outside items like air conditioner, fence, plants etc. They seemed to do a thorough job of coating the outside wall, replacing the footer drain and replacing all the outside items. The second project required working in the basement. They removed all the items in the basement that were in the way. They ground away the face of many cement blocks to gain access to the block cavaties to strengthen the wall. This raised a lot of dust in the basement. They tried their best to cleanup but some dust was left. They did a good of returning the basement items. The workers were very friendly and courteous. The cleanup was good. The proof of the work will be after a few heavy storms and saturated ground.

Workers were on time, very polite and as neat as possible. Cleaned basement after repairing wall that reqired cinder blocks cut,out and replaced by cementing them in place with rebar. Did partial waterproofing of two walls. The recommendations for repair were conservative and reasonable. Replanted all landscaping and so far it is ok. They were working in a very confined area (free standing condo houses close,together) and cleaned up every night before they left including washing down the street. The supervisor Dan is very knowledgeable. This company also repaired the storm sewers for my mother in law in Wickliffe when she sold her house three years ago. They did a good job there as well.
