After the "inspection" I was told that the compressor was bad and the estimate was around $500. I was not comfortable with that so I left. Recently, I had it checked at a Toyota dealer when I had a lube and oil change. It turned out to be a loose fender and they fixed it at no additional charge.
They did fairly well. They diagnosed some of the issues but they couldn't do the rest because I brought in a Mercedes and they said, "You really have to go to the dealer to get it fixed." They weren't setup to get into that much detail because it takes them specialized equipment, I guess. So, it was mixed. They did what they could but for certain makes and models. So, it just didn't work that great. There were no extra charges. They stuck to the price. Did it really help me? It was questionable because as soon as I take the car to Mercedes, they're going to charge me $150 to do the whole diagnostic thing. They're not going to give me $50 back and say, "You took it elsewhere." There's no credit for it. They're honest people. But, I think they should just tell you upfront if they're not going to be able to do it or say, "Hey, we're going to do a part of it. Maybe it works or maybe it doesn't. But, you've got a Mercedes and we can't do it all." That, I think, would be an appropriate response. For what they do, the price is great. I'm not negative of them. I would go back and have them do small work in the future. They're honest straightforward guys. They're quick.

They were good. They are very service oriented. I went down, dropped my car off and they took me home. You don't always find a lot of people that do that.

I went to the dealer to check oil leak on 2003 Toyota Highlander. They charged $125 just to check it and found out the rear main seal is the one that leaks. They said $1750 to replace it because the Transmission has to be removed. I couldn't trust them since they forgot to put hoses back on when they did oil change a while ago, so I started seeking for a second opinion. I found Clackamas Auto Repair near my house on Angie's list and called them. That's all I ever had to do. I took it in and had them look, but not sure where it leaks so they put dye in the oil and made me drive around for 2 days and come back so they can detect exactly where the leak would be. So they found out the rear main seal is worn right away. They said it would take 2 days to get it done and 1 more day for just in case if something would happen. I took it in the next week for them to start working and I decided to hibernate for 3 days. On the second day, they called me and said my car is done. I couldn't believe it and I said it's too fast for me. I was not ready to go pick it up that day. So I went the next day and they came up to $1130 after 20% discount from Angie's list just as they promised. The work is perfectly done after examined for 2 weeks. My car now runs, sounds and smells like a brand new. Frank is the man to talk to and he has great mechanics. After many, many diss appointments for years of my car repair experiences, the search is over right here at Clackamas Auto Repair. Thank you very much.
I came in to get a second opinion on a leak that was detected at the dealer. The dealer was going to charge me over $600 to fix the problem even with the extended warranty.
They found one coolant leak here and replaced the heater hose costing $234. They didn't find any other problems. It came in almost $10 under estimate as well. They will give you a ride to wherever you need (within reason) and are great to work with.
They are honest and dependable. They are my most used repair shop.

I finally found a repair "home" for my 2005 Buick! These guys are the ones! I'm fairly skeptical about just any "GM" repair place, so it's taken awhile to find them. Over my many years of car ownership, I know something will always happen, eventually, to the mechanisms driving my "wheels", so it's nice to know where to take my car for repairs. They're also my tune/lube place. They're a little out of my way, but worth it, and they do the job when and how they say they will.

I like them because they do not just do tires. They do brakes and other mechanical work. They provide excellent service and they are very reasonable. I have been pleased with them for all my auto care needs, even on my older vehicle (1994) that carries no warranty. They are close by, their employees are experienced, and they have a history in the mechanical world. They are "seasoned" in age(50-60 years old). They are happy to always get me in and give me a lift to where I need to go. They call ahead to get parts in less time, they are honest, and they give me options right up front. I feel comfortable with them and I appreciate them. I have had all of my cars maintained through them. As my family grows, I am staying with them. I am always pleased with their work and it is convenient for me. They are a very reliable service. I will continue taking all my vehicles here in the future.
