The technician was very knowledgeable, honest and friendly. He explained the problem, proposed how to fix it and did the work immediately. I had received an estimate from another company that told me my chimney had structural issues and needed to be rebuilt and re-sealed at a cost of several thousand dollars more than I paid. I highly recommend Classic Chimney.

They were on time, professional and instead of the job taking 4 or more hours, they were done in 2.  They worked with me with scheduling because I did not have the moeny right away.  As soon as I was ready to go, they put me on the schedule and took care of me.  I had been without heat for a week and they took that into consideration.  They also honored the estimate from a prior company that was lower than their original quote.  I would absolutely use them again. <br />

They came out and cleaned the chimney from top to bottom, the technician worked very hard and did a great job. He also informed us that our chimney liner had several cracks and the liner needed to be replaced to be completely safe. I was very happy with their thoroughness and will certainly have them back next year. <br />

They arrived right on time and were very friendly. They cleaned my chimney in about 10 minutes and left the area clean. This was the lowest price I could find.

When I called Classic to make an appointment, Lance was efficient and friendly. I was always called to confirm the appointments the day before. Tommy and his co-worker arrived on time both visits. After the chimney inspection, Tommy outlined the repairs that needed to be done to make my fireplace usable. He recommended vent-free gas logs rather than burning wood as it would be a safer method to use with this fireplace. He also suggested where to look for the gas logs to get the best price and who to call for installation. He was friendly but very professional. On his second visit, Tommy and co-worker arrived a little early and were already working when I arrived at the house. He installed the damper in a very short period of time. The estimate I was given for the damper work was exactly as stated - no hidden charges. Excellent service and excellent job. I will definitely recommend Classic to my friends!

I contacted this company because of their advertised specials (both on the website and Valpak online). I told them my location and received a positive response about being "in our neck of the woods". However, when I mentioned I wanted to use the coupon ($59.95 for a chimney sweep), I was told that the coupons were only for Baltimore County, even though I had entered my zip code as Howard County on the Valpak website and nowhere did I see any mention of specials being for Baltimore County only. The representative explained that this was because of the cost associated with the large travel distance - nevermind being in their neck of the woods just a minute ago and nevermind that there are areas within Baltimore County equally as far from their headquarters as my location. Because I was pressed for time, I set up the appointment for a cleaning at double the cost of the coupon ($120). I will say however that this was still lower than one quote I received from a Howard County company. Later I visited the company website and saw a special being offered for a $79.95 cleaning, again with no location specified. I called and was told (again) that I was too far away for this special. The cleaners did arrive on time, and completed my cleaning in approximately 10 minutes. They were clean, friendly and professional. I paid my $120 and that was the end. Overall, the service was great and had it not been for the misleading advertising I would have no complaints, even about the base price. I have contacted Valpak in case the coupon was erroneously distributed in the wrong service area; however, I believe that any disclaimers should be presented up front so that the consumer can make an informed decision. Being told one minute that my location is convenient, and the next minute being told I am too far away to qualify for any advertised specials does not make me a satisfied customer.

They were very honest and reasonably priced. I would use them again and would recommend them to anyone. I actually have recommend them to someone.

Guys showed up on time and did a great job. They answered all my questions and were very polite. It was a pleasure dealing with them.

The chimney sweep company was good. They were located close to where I live. Their price was good. They were very responsive. They worked it out and came within a couple of days of me calling them. They came right when they said they would and they were professional.

Very satisfactory from estimate to installation

Eventhough it was a rainy day, two technicians arrived on time and ready to perform the requested work. The technicians swept the chimney from the inside of the house using a large brush on an extension handle which was feed up through the inside of the fireplace. The technicians were very careful and attentive to the work and tried to ensure the soot was not spread on the floor/living space. They meticulously put down a cloth to cover the floor in front of the fireplace and used a vaccum to suck up the falling soot. The technician also inspected the cement firebox and advised that two cracks needed to be repaired with fireplace mortar and a fire plate should be used when burning wood. The complaint I have is that the technicians would not repair the cracks without the purchase of the fireplate for an additonal cost of $241.00 (two crack repairs and one fireplate). The total cost for about 30 minutes of work was $371.20. Quite frankly it was a rip-off. I could have bought a bucket of mortar for about $15.00 and done the work myself. The fireplate I could have purchased locally much cheaper. If you are going to use this company, please use them for their chimney sweep services only.

They actually came a little early which was good. They are very professional and friendly. They gave me some advice on how to keep it clean longer. They were great and I would use them again. They honored a coupon I got in the mail with no problem.

They did a very good job. They showed up on-time to do the work. They did not make a mess in the house at all when they were there and they were very courteous.

They called us the day before to confirm the appointment and when they had some truck issues getting to our house that day they called to keep us informed. They had to switch trucks. They were very thorough and neat and did a great job. They even did a brief inspection of our chimney as they were cleaning it.

It went terrible because there was a dead animal in the fireplace. They said there was a cap on the chimney and there was not. We ended up with a massive fly infestation that drove us out of our house for a couple of weeks. They told me that I had a secure cap on the chimney. He told me that he was going to play golf that day because it was a beautiful summer day. He was here about fifteen minutes. There actually was a small bird that had died in the chimney. This individual did not protect us. We had to end up leaving the state with our newborn daughter because we did not have anywhere to go. This was the owner, Brian Furletti.

Brian was helpful on the phone. They promptly responded to our call, which was important given the impending sale of the house. The serviceman dispatched was courteous and professional. He revised the water heater vent the same day for a reasonable price.

This is one of the most professional companies I have dealt with. They came out ON TIME for our appointment, gave us the estimate-and completed the work in less than 2 weeks. I would highly recommend them to anyone in need of the services they offer.

The company I hired this year has completed the work and could not understand why Classic Chimney Sweep did not do the sides of crown and use flex-crown. A year later, the job is finally completed and looks good as well. UPDATE: I had a new chimney company pull out the wood stove insert that Classic Chimney's put in. I had complained about it when they installed it that it rattled and wasn't installed correctly. When the new company pulled it out, one of the holes they had drilled had been drilled a couple of times and the bolts were not holding, and on the other side they drilled into the mortar and not the brick. The insulation that was behind and around it had all dropped. They did not do a good install job.

It went well. Personnel arrived early and completed the work promptly.
